It’s a bit slower than usual, seeing that June has only one KBL release, but we do have more information regarding upcoming BL projects that will finally see the light of day!

To My Star 2: Our Untold Stories

After waiting for more than a year and going through mountains of promotional content, we finally have the second season of Hwang Daseul’s To My Star (2021). It looks like this season’s full of angst(?) Son Woohyun and Kim Kangmin return as lovers in the sequel, which is set to be aired on June 5, 2022, on Viki and GagaOOLala. To My Star 2 is12 episodes long, each about 25 minutes in length.

Synopsis

The story seems to be set a year after the first season. And it looks like Kang Seojoon (played by Son Woohyun) has hardly changed his habit of constantly getting into trouble. The love between him and Han Jiwoo (played by Kim Kangmin) is yet to stand the test of time, and things seem to be falling apart, especially when one of them vanishes, leaving a note behind.

We have truly hit it big with this one. An older 3rd generation K-pop boy group, VIXX is in my top 5 even to this day. So you can imagine how thrilled I am to find out that one of my pretty boys, VIXX’s main vocalist Leo, will be a part of a KBL project. You may remember him from a picture he’d uploaded with EXO’s Xiumin that had become the epicentre of recent controversy. Homophobic netizens may have found a reason to add to more hate, but many of us found a new ship in these two. But more on that later (new article coming through)!

There isn’t much information yet on what the series is about, except for the one-line synopsis floating around on the internet. Moving Pictures and Dramatist Studio are the producers of this show. Ha Jongwoo, a rookie actor who debuted in 2021 with Part-Time Mello, plays opposite Leo, along with Karam, a former member of the K-pop band Dae Guk Nam Ah/The Boss.

Synopsis

The story centres around the lives of Kim Junghyeon (Leo), a famous writer with a secret, and Han Taeyoung (played by Ha Jongwoo), the CEO of a publishing company.

Comport the Boy/Let Me Comfort the Boy

I may have been over the moon when I heard that Dongmul’s A Shoulder to Cry On (Sonyeoneul Wirohaejwo in Korean) would have its own live-action adaptation. Still, words could not even encompass my excitement when the cast had been revealed. FOR Xs, this might be a series to look out for (I love how ‘Vamos a la fiesta’ has been playing throughout this section)! OMEGA X’s oldest member, Jaehan (former member of the K-pop boy group SPECTRUM), and the group’s maknae, Yechan (former member of 1THE9), are to star in Let Me Comfort the Boy. The series is produced by KT Alpha and is set to be released sometime in September 2022, with 12 episodes.

Synopsis

The story revolves around the fateful encounter between Lee Dayeol (played by Jaehan) and Cho Taehyun (Yechan) at the school nurse’s office, which takes a turn for the worse when the latter accuses Dayeol of something he didn’t do. The rumours surrounding this misunderstanding spread all over the school, significantly affecting Dayeol’s archery scholarship. Taehyun, on the other hand, seems unaffected, almost delighted at the turn of events, which irks Dayeol to no end. Find out what happens as their love-hate relationship is unravelled, along with a past that has haunted Taehyun all his life.
