There are moments and people in life we vow we’ll never forget and never let go of. But loss teaches us that while we never stop missing the people we love, we sometimes lose sight of who we were when they were still here.
The new Japanese BL Naked Dining takes viewers into a nostalgic story about a salaryman, Ichijo Futo (Kondo Shori), who falls in love while trying to hide a secret. In the process, he also realizes how much his busy life has changed him.
In retrospect, the change in Ichijo feels like the reason he finds freedom in eating naked, a secret that fruit/vegetable stand worker Miki Mahiro (Yutaro) happens to stumble upon, much to his surprise.

A childhood acquaintance of Ichijo, Mahiro has a crush on the man who returns to his childhood home.
What begins as a fun drama about a man who relieves stress by dining naked swiftly becomes a poignant tale about a man traveling the world with his deceased grandmother by making the international foods she left behind in her food journal.
Naked Dining is a story about stripping oneself bare, literally and figuratively. It’s about re-capturing who you hoped to be when the pressures of life begin to steal that from you.
All while falling in love.
Life is full of memories, good and bad. Each memory becomes a part of us, filed away to either heal or torment at unexpected moments. Sometimes we want to push a memory away. Other times we want to hold onto it.

Ichijo is holding onto his while also keeping the promise he made to his grandmother.
