Anti-Reset

Taiwan production house, Vidol, has announced another BL series which is set to premiere towards the end of this year. This series is the first of its kind as it portrays a human-robot relationship. Chu Yi-Ping, an emotionless man, dislocates his hand in an accident at school. His uncle gives him Ever 9 as a caretaker, an experimental intelligent robot that his company is secretly testing. Although Yi-Ping is reluctant at the beginning, he finds that Ever 9 complements his deficiencies and makes him feel companionship. Yi-Ping asks Ever 9 to make a wish list and complete the wish list together, but before the list is completed, Ever 9 breaks down. The repair only takes a week, but when Ever 9 returns his attitude towards Yi-Ping has completely changed.

Marry Go Round

Earth Chitsanupong and Bank Nuttawatt left quite the impression in ‘Destiny Seeker the Series, so much so that they were quickly offered a part in another BL series while it was still on air. The couple will now take on the roles of Tob and Boss in the upcoming ‘My Universe the Series. Tob and Boss have been in a relationship for some time, in fact they’re about to tie the knot. They have been planning this wedding in secret, not wanting Tobs parents to find out that they’re together. On the day of the wedding, chaos ensues when Tobs parents show up uninvited, now their friend and wedding planner Mei has to step in as the bride. ‘My Universe’ is expected to air on August 20th 2023 on AmarinTV34 and IQIYI.

Y-Moment

Kantana, 9Naa and Mflow Entertainment have partnered together to create ‘Y-Moment’. As a unit they are expected to host an event on June 14th 2023 where they will announce their upcoming projects. Individually these companies have delivered several BL series/movies and this event boasts to reveal an exciting lineup, including a surprise project. More than 20 well-known actors are expected to feature in this lineup.

Love Syndrome – The Beginning

Following the success of ‘Love Syndrome 3’, Golden-View has decided to film a sequel to the series titled ‘Love Syndrome- Beginning’. This story will explain how all the couples met; Day-Itt, Gear-Night, Nick-Neil, Mac-Nan and a new couple Four-Gus. Though some elements of their past were mentioned briefly in ‘Love Syndrome 3’, this new series will outline the whole story in detail straight from the novels. No dates have been communicated as of yet but we will keep you updated. If you haven’t watched ‘Love Syndrome 3’, the plot follows Day and Itt (Lee Long Shi and Frank Thanatsaran), a couple who go through pitfall after pitfall in the wake of an accident that left Day with no memories of the last four years of his life.

The Whisperer

The first Horror BL movie will air this September on Channel 23. “The Whisperer” is adapted from the novel ‘The Whispering Corpse’ by Phakinai and it stars Fluke Pongsakorn (My Ride) alongside Tor Kimkrit, Chino Phichit and Nhakun Sanseemon. The story follows Kun, who loses his brother and sister-in-law in a terrible accident, leaving him to take care of his nephew. Soon after their deaths, he begins to see their ghosts wandering around the house, whispering of death. He decides to start over someplace new with his partner, but this new house brings its own set of problems. Somebody seems to be after his nephew, his partner has history with their new neighbor and the ghosts have followed him there. International fans stay tuned for further details regarding where you can watch this movie.

Love Supremacy Zone

Hwacha and Aqurams webtoon ‘Love Supremacy Zone’ is being adapted into a series, with filming nearing completion. One day, a 29-year-old man wakes up in the body of a 19-year-old student, a character from a novel that his senior is writing. He receives a mission, to make Cha Yeon-Woon happy within 300 days or his life will be at stake. Will he be able to survive, protect his loved ones and fulfill his mission?

Senior High

ABS-CBN and Dreamscape have partnered to produce ‘Senior High’, an upcoming Pinoy series which portrays the tumultuous lives of a group of high-class high school students. The series appears to be following the trend of popular series like ‘Gossip Girl’, ‘Elite’ and ‘Euphoria’ etc. One of the couples featured in the series is gay and will be played by Miggy Jimenez (Gameboys) and Zaijan Jaranilla. Can I Buy Your Love from a Vending Machine?

Japan is definitely following a common theme this year as most of their productions seem to be focused on food. Naked Dining, Our Dining Table, Let’s Eat Together and now a Vending machine?… The way they manage to portray similar themes but still maintain a level of individuality is what keeps us interested. This movie is based on the comic by Haruaki Yoshii and it stars Ryo Matsuda and Shogo Tazuru. The plot follows Koiwai, and office man who can’t tear his eyes away from the strong muscular man as he checks on the stocks of the vending machine in his office. He may be an adult now, but everything about the emotions Yamashita awakens in his makes him feel like hes falling in love for the first time.

Chiang Mai Adventures

Wayufilm production will release an exclusive movie that will only be available to its monthly subscribers. The film stars Oak Puwanart and Mon Hatsawatchon who travel together. On their journey they discover friendship, life and love

Right Time. Right You

Milk Natchanon (War of Y the Series) and Junior Chokkorn will feature in ‘My Universe’ in the story ‘Right Time Right You’. Their story comes in third, after ‘Casanova Begins’ and ‘Marry Go Round’. The story follows Phat (Milk) who returns to Thailand to heal his wounds. There he meets Mork (Junior), the younger brother of his best friend who approaches him and starts flirting with him.

C- Entertainment

If you’re a fan of Chinese Danmei such as ‘The Untamed’, ‘Justice in the Dark’ and the latest ‘Desire Catcher’, then you may like to know that any upcoming Danmei series or movies that were scheduled to film, or air in the coming months have been put on hold indefinitely. The Chinese Government has opted to ‘Clean Up’ the entertainment Industry. This means that all upcoming dramas, variety shows, offline activities, exhibitions and concerts, are all suspended until they can be reviewed. This decision came after a comedian made a mockery of the military in one of his shows. In the past these ‘clean ups’ have had a huge impact on the BL industry, with dramas being taken off the air permanently and production houses being penalized. And it calls into question whether we will ever see series such as ‘Desire’, ‘Couple or Not’ and many more.
