August has been a busy month and although a couple of shows have ended in the past few weeks; there has been a stealthy flow of new and upcoming dramas. Without further ado, let’s dig into the latest updates and exclusives from the BL world!
Pond Naravit Lertakosum
Beloved GMMTV actor Pond Naravit announced via his social media that come next year he will be returning to school to further his education. Naravit gained fame in 2020 after he featured in Thai drama ‘The Gifted’. He went on to play lead roles in series ‘Fish Upon the Sky’, ‘Never Let Me Go’ and ‘Our Skyy 2’ alongside friend and on-screen partner Phuwin Tangsakyuen. Naravit did not make it clear whether he will continue acting during this time or if he will be taking a hiatus. We wish him the best of luck!
Crazy Handsome Rich
Lee Long Shi and Frank Thanatasaran, the lead couple from the widely talked about ‘Love Syndrome III’ are back with a new series which was produced by the Very Great Company. Lee will play the role of Thad, a wealthy young man and Frank will play Luv, a newly hired butler who is on a mission to find his soulmate. Enjoy this hilarious Thai BL series premiere on August 28th 2023 on GagaOOLala.
Chains Of Heart Movie
Harikorn Solutions ‘Chains Of Heart: The Movie’ starring Haii Sarunthorn, Boom Raweewit and Kut Thanawat will premiere on December 7th 2023. The movie will not be a continuation of the story but rather a re-edited version of the series which was released earlier this year. The story portrays a young forestry officer, Din, gets involved with a gang of illegal smugglers, it causes him and Ken, a young man who has been in a relationship with him for more than seven years, to be chased away. They’re both cornered and fall from a steep cliff. After several months, Ken wakes up but without his lover by his side. As the years go by, things start to go awry when someone appears and has a resemblance to his former lover. The old memories return and now circle around him. Ken begins to suspect that Din might not be dead, and that Din might be this new person.
Skam

Skam is a Norwegian television drama series about the daily life of teenagers. The series is well known for featuring gay couples and some have become fan favorites. Several countries have already produced their own adaptation of the series including France, Germany, Italy, America, Spain, Netherlands and Belgium. Korea will join this list of countries with their own version of the series which will premiere in 2024.
Who Can Define Popularity?
The webtoon by Tak Bon, the story which the series ‘Blueming’ was based on, will be adapted into a TV series by Idol Romance. Idol Romance have produced several BL series such as ‘Happy Ending Romance’, ‘The Tasty Florida’, ‘Roommates of Poongduck 304’, ‘Once Again’, ‘Why RU’, ‘Wish You’ and many more. Idol romance’ videography speaks for itself, it’s safe to say we can expect quality work that can match and even rival the popular ‘Blueming’.
Kiseki Dear To Me
The Official trailer for Lin Pei Yus latest work ‘Miracle’ has been released. The series airs August 22nd 2023 on GagaOOLala. The drama, also known as ‘Kiseki: Dear to Me’ portrays Zong-Yi, an aspiring doctor who is forced to take care of an injured gangster, Ze-rui. The two get familiar & fall in love. However, Zong-Yi is wrongly imprisoned for ZeRuis crime. They’re torn apart, and so are their friends Eddy & Chen-Yi. Four years later fate reunites them all in different ways.

Jinloe has announced the release of a new movie titled ‘Firstly Like You’. The movie will be the cut of King and Burgers scenes from ‘Hit Bite Love the Series’. The movie will premiere on 26th August 2023 on Jinloes official YouTube Channel.
Venus In the Sky
9Naa production, the company behind ‘Checkout’ series has announced their next major project called ‘Venus in The Sky’. The story follows two friends, one has the feelings for the other and decides to confess. Sadly, his feelings are not returned which causes awkwardness and the two eventually fall out of touch. Years later, the two meet again, but this time the shoe is on the other foot. How do you convince a man you rejected to love you? After keeping radio silence for few months 9NAA production has graced us with the official teaser.

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of The Universe
A coming-of-age YA movie that follows two Mexican-American teenagers. Their friendship, and their struggles with racial and ethnic identity, sexuality, and family relationships. Premieres 8th September 2023.
Synopsis:

Perth Tanapon and Chimon Wachirawit star in the upcoming GMMTV BL series ‘Dangerous Romance’. The story depicts Sailom, a poor and studious student, has worked several odd jobs along with his elder brother in an effort to keep them afloat. One day, a misunderstanding causes him to hate school bully Kanghan. However, fate plays its hand when Sailom, offered a sum of money too great to refuse, takes on the role of Kanghan’s private tutor. Despite their difference, the two develop an irrefutable connection. Premieres August 18th 2023 on GMMTVs official YouTube Channel.
Blossom Campus!
Kang Woo, the director of Korean BL drama ‘Long Time No See’ is back with a new project. A college romance that will be produced by Matchbox x Strongberry. It has 3 parts, ‘Blossom Campus’ ‘Blossom Series’ and ‘Blossom Guest House’ Synopsis: Min-jae, a transfer student in the practical music department at Korea University, accidentally gets help from Kyu-ho in the taekwondo department. As a work scholarship student, Min-jae gets a job as a librarian at the school library, and runs into Kyu-ho again. Min- jae thinks Kyu-ho is a very strange guy, but for some reason he keeps thinking about him.
