Saltburn

Saltburn is a 2023 psychological thriller drama film written, directed and produced by Emerald Fennell. Set in the mid-2000s, it follows a young college student Oliver (Barry Keoghan) who is struggling to find his place at Oxford University. Oliver quickly finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family’s sprawling estate, for a summer never to be forgotten. Saltburn had its world premiere at the 50th Telluride Film Festival on August 31, 2023. It is scheduled to be released in limited theatrical release on November 24, 2023, before expanding wide on December 1, 2023, by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

Our Flag Means Death

The HBO Max comedy series is returning for a second season. The premise follows Stede Bonnet, a pampered aristocrat, who abandons his life of privilege to become a pirate in the early 18th century. While there aren’t a lot of narrative details regarding season 2 just yet, the new season will continue to follow the tumultuous romance between pirates Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby) and Blackbeard (Taika Waititi), both of whom are slightly based on their real-life counterparts. Things didn’t end so well in the first season, so there’s going to be plenty of drama this time around. The show will premiere on October 5th 2023. Three episodes will actually drop on the 5th, with two episodes premiering weekly after that, leading to a finale on October 26th.

All Of Us Strangers

All of Us Strangers is a British romance fantasy film loosely based on the 1987 novel ‘Strangers’ by Taichi Yamada. The film stars Andrew Scott, Paul Mescal, Claire Foy, and Jamie Bell. The movie depicts Adam, a screenwriter living in London who encounters his mysterious neighbour Harry. As their relationship develops, Adam returns to his childhood home to discover his long-dead parents are not only alive and well, but seemingly have not aged from 30 years ago. ‘All of Us Strangers’ is set to release in theaters on December 22nd 2023.

Cassandro

Cassandro is an American biographical drama film. It stars Gael García Bernal, Roberta Colindrez, Perla De La Rosa, Joaquín Cosío, Raúl Castillo, El Hijo del Santo and Bad Bunny. It had its world premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival on January 20, 2023, and is scheduled to be released by Amazon Studios in a limited release on September 15, 2023, prior to streaming via Prime Video on September 22, 2023. Cassandro tells the incredible true story of Mexican-American exótico luchador, Saúl “Cassandro” Armendáriz. A wrestling superstar known all around the world, Cassandro pushed barriers in the wrestling industry as an openly gay athlete in a sport where homophobia can be quite common. Through sensational bravado and a willingness to be his true self, Cassandro was able to find a true passion in a sport that ironically saw its participants wear masks.

Sex Education is a British teen sex comedy drama. It follows the lives of the students, staff and parents of the fictional Moordale Secondary School as they contend with various personal dilemmas, often related to sexual intimacy. The series stars an ensemble cast that includes several gay characters. Following the closure of Moordale Secondary, Otis and Eric now face a new frontier—their first day at Cavendish Sixth Form College. Otis is nervous about setting up his new clinic, while Eric is praying they won’t be losers again. But Cavendish is a culture shock for all the Moordale students—they thought they were progressive but this new college is another level. There’s daily yoga in the communal garden, a strong sustainability vibe and a group of kids who are popular for being … kind?! Viv is totally thrown by the college’s student-led, non-competitive approach, while Jackson is still struggling to get over Cal. Aimee tries something new by taking an Art A Level and Adam grapples with whether mainstream education is for him. Rustin

Rustin is an upcoming American biographical drama about the life of civil rights activist Bayard Rustin. It is produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s production company Higher Ground Productions. The film stars Colman Domingo in the title role, alongside Chris Rock et al. It is based on the true story of gay civil rights activist Bayard Rustin, who helped Martin Luther King Jr. And others organize the 1963 March on Washington. Rustin premiered at the Telluride Film Festival on August 31, 2023, and is slated for the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival on September 13, 2023. It is scheduled to be released in select theaters on November 3, 2023, before its streaming release on November 17, 2023, by Netflix.

Aristotle And Dante Discover The Secrets of The Universe

An upcoming coming-of-age romantic drama film. It is an adaptation of the 2012 novel of the same name by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. It follows two Mexican-American teenagers boys who find an instant connection in 1987 El Paso, Texas. It stars Max Pelayo and Reese Gonzales as the title characters. Resentful at the world, 15-year-old Aristotle Mendoza wants to blend in and be left alone, but the summer he meets free spirit Dante Quintana at the local swimming pool, everything changes. Dante is everything Ari isn’t, and his wanderlust for life and artistic spirit shake something loose in Ari; finally, he has a friend. A near magical being, Dante disrupts Aristotle’s world, introducing him to music, poetry, and lessons about the sky. Dante gives Aristotle permission to live in an ever expansive universe, making it harder and harder for him to maintain the façade of isolation that has protected him for so long. Their summer of adventure comes to an abrupt halt when the boys are torn apart. Armed with a new perspective, Aristotle uses Dante’s absence to understand who he wants to be in the world. Ari must decide if he is going to live in the world of infinite possibilities that Dante represents. At first fear holds Aristotle hostage and he retreats into his lonely existence. But Ari soon realizes he can’t unsee the world through Dante’s eyes. If only he would let go of the secrets he didn’t even know he was keeping and embrace the wonders of the universe.

Notes Of Autumn

The hallmark movie starring Ashley Williams, Luke Macfarlane, Marcus Rosner and Peter Porte will premiere on September 16th 2023. The story follows Ellie, a fun-loving, classically trained pianist living in the city who gave up on her passion long ago. Her best friend Leo lives in the rustic outskirts of British Columbia. He’s a famous author with writer’s block who can’t seem to finish another instalment in his highly popular book series. Realizing they both need a change of scenery, they decide to swap places, only to find themselves completely lost in new surroundings. Ellie gets tangled up in helping Sam, Leo’s neighbour, put together a musical performance for a local fundraiser. Leo strikes up a friendship with Ellie’s good friend Matt and opens himself up to writing something different that really inspires him. Their newfound friendships turn into something far more meaningful, and as both Ellie and Leo take part in the joys of the autumn season, they also discover their hearts belong somewhere very different than they ever thought possible.
