Spirit Reborn

Chap Suppacheep (The Tuxedo) and rising actor Peipei Krit will take the lead roles in the Thai BL horror series ‘Spirit Reborn’. The drama is adapted from the novel ‘Khemjira Must Survive’ by Cali. The story portrays Khem, who is born into a cursed family. Supposedly, a daughter born into the family will be safe. However, a son would die before he reaches the age of twenty. Khem’s mother cleverly gives him a girl’s name, Khemjira, which means “forever safe.” Khem believes that until his nineteenth birthday. His doubts force him to seek out a Shaman to help save him, but he ends up finding a special connection with him instead.

On September 8th, a new production house ‘Studio On Fire’ announced that it would adapt Yeonim’s novel ‘รักผ่านไลฟ์’ into a TV drama. It will serve as it’s first BL project. Hearth Chindanai and Non Ratchanon, who played Nan and Mac in Love Syndrome III will star in the upcoming Thai BL drama. During the time when everyone was quarantined, many people spent their free time on social media platforms. Kla and Cake meet through a friend’s live and instantly attract the attention of the viewers . Hashtags like #KlaCake and #DareKlaEatCake start to trend. Since then the two begin to form a relationship. We will have more details about the series as production proceeds.

Shadow

In 1999, Dan’s in grade eleven when he transfers to Saint Lawrence’s, an all-boys catholic school. His father is being treated at a nearby hospital for end-stage brain cancer; his mother died when he was only seven.Dan is close to Brother Anurak, the school’s dean and a psychologist. Brother Anurak tries to cure Dan of his sleep paralysis. In his dreams, Dan sees a shadow that suffocates him and it only gets worse when he transfers. Brother Anurak searches for meaning in the dreams; he believes Dan has some sort of complex pertaining to his father. Dan causes a panic on his first day when he chooses a seat at the desk of Trin, a senior who mysteriously vanished at the lake behind the school a year prior. No one dares to sit at that desk, and no one dares throw it away. He gets to know his classmate Nai and roommate George as well as Cha-em, a student from Saint Mary’s who comes to perform in the annual play. As the four of them grow closer, they begin to look into Trin’s disappearance while helping Dan evade the shadow that’s plaguing him.

Part 1: Episode 1-7 of the Thai thriller series will air on Halloween night. The drama stars Singto Prachaya and Fluke Natouch. Whether this series will be available internationally remains to be seen.

Wuju Bakery

Wuju had just turned 20 years old when he lost his father in an accident an had to stand on his own two feet. After years of hard work, he returned to his hometown to re-open a small bakery his father had left for him. However, the neighbourhood was already a ghost town, which almost assured the bakery’s downfall. Wuju ignoring the concerns of others, decides to open the bakery anyway. The day before the opening, someone/something destroys Wuju’s bakery with a loud boom! Enter a mysterious man in a shabby and almost unrecognizable spaceship called Rain. He has ran away from home with his friend Hachi, in order to escape an arranged marriage. He fled to the Earth on an illegally tuned spaceship – and was forced to make a crash landing. Wuju, who thinks Raon is an illegal immigrant, demands money to repair the completely destroyed bakery. Raon hands him the money he received after selling a building from his planet. When Wuju manages to exchange it to Earthling money, It’s worth not more than $150! Raon sings a “Slice Contract” promising to work for Wuju, until he can pay off all the repair costs.

‘Wuju Bakery’ was originally scheduled to be released in 2024, but changes in the production house’ schedule show that it will air sooner in November 2023. The drama stars Thai actors Jeff Satur and Barcode Tinnasit and Korean actors Dion and Jun In-Kyu (Q).

Mr. Cinderella – Season 2

Vietnamese production house ‘O2 Production’ has announced a sequel to ‘Mr. Cinderella’ which will air on the 23rd of September 2023. Actors Nguyen Ba Vinh and Truong Minh Thao will reprise their roles as Dung and Khoa. The prequel was released in 2022 and is available to watch for free on YouTube and GagaOOLala. The series follows the story of Dung, who often called Khoa his “Cinderella” when they were young because he believed Khoa was a girl. The two lost contact but are reunited a few years later after an accident where Dung is hurt and Khoa saves him.

Unintentional Love Story – Special Episode

ULS special is finally being released in international theatres. The special is a 2 hours and 2 minutes long movie version of the ten-episode web drama starring Cha Seo Won and Gongchan.

Synopsis:

When Ji Won Young’s direct superior at work is fired due to a corruption scandal, Won Young – in spite of being innocent of any wrongdoing – finds himself unceremoniously discharged from the company as well. Desperate to get his job back, Won Young tries to curry favor by tracking down the chairman’s favorite artist. He finds the missing man running a pottery shop in a remote town, but it’s clear that Yoon Tae Joon has no desire to be found. Won Young decides to hang around town and secretly report whatever he can learn about Tae Joon’s self-imposed exile, but when feelings begin to develop between the two, Won Young starts to question his sexuality, his motivations, and whether he even wants to go back to his old life in Seoul. But what will happen when Tae Joon learns Won Young has been spying on him this entire time?

Absolute Zero

Studio Wabi Sabi, the makers of ‘Untill We Meet Again’ are back with another heart wrenching series. The drama is based on the novel of the same name by Salil. The series will premiere on September 27th 2023 and will star Tor Supakorn as Ongsaa and Mix Wanut as Suansoon.

Synopsis:

Suansoon and Ongsa are boyfriends. Ongsa got into a serious accident because he was rushing back to celebrate Suansoon’s birthday with him. Suansoon blamed himself and prayed that if he could get back to the past, he would not get together with Ongsa. Suansoon found himself in the past and warned Ongsa (high school age) about the future but Ongsa didn’t believe him and became boyfriends with Suansoon anyway. Ten years later, one day before the accident, Ongsa from the future came back to tell his younger self to not avoid the accident, because Suansoon will die if he does. Ongsa let the accident happen. He woke up again in the past where he met Suansoon for the first time. This time Ongsa decided to change the future and didn’t approach Suansoon.

What Did You Eat Yesterday? – Season 2

A slice-of-life Japanese drama adapted from a manga series of the same name. It revolves around the life and relationship of Shiro Kakei and Kenji Yabuki, a middle-aged gay couple residing in Tokyo, Japan. The series stars Hidetoshi Nishijima as Shiro Kakei and Seiyo Uchino as Kenji Yabuki. After a successful first season and special episode , it has been announced that the show will be returning for a second season which will premiere on October 6th 2023. The second season will showcase the life of these two men as they enter their 50’s, and the unexpected changes which occur that threaten their happiness.

Even If I Fall In Love With You

According to Japanese media Hyuga Wataru and Okura Takato will play the lead actors in Kubota Maru’s manga ‘君となら恋をしてみても / Kimi to nara Koi wo Shite Mite mo’ live drama adaptation. The series will premiere on October 5th 2023 on MBS. The story portrays Amane, who has stopped loving people due to a past trauma, he meets Ryuji on his first day In Enoshima. At first Amane just wants to play with Ryuji but his feelings take an unexpected turn.

Rerun

A short film from ‘PP Krit Entertainment’ starring PP Krit himself, alongside Naphat Siangsomboon. The story is inspired by a moving melody and the lyrics of ‘Rerun’ by PP Krit. It premiered 13th September 2023 (GMT+7) on his official YouTube Channel. The drama depicts a couple who are going through irreconcilable differences.

Bon Appetit

Lee Ki Taek and Yoo Jung Hun’s series ‘Bon Appetit /본아페티’ will be having it’s international premiere on global streaming iQIYI starting on September 27th 2023.

Synopsis:

Yoon Soo is a dedicated office worker who immerses himself in his job, shuttling between home and the office day in and day out. His life seems monotonous, filled with loneliness and sadness. However, one day, his life is completely turned upside down by his neighbour, Doo Hoon. Doo Hoon is Yoon Soo’s junior from college, a young man who suddenly dropped out of school. One day, Doo Hoon appears in front of Yoon Soo, holding a bowl of sweet rice soup as a housewarming gift. Yoon Soo accepts this dessert, and suddenly, his world brightens as the sweetness warms his weary soul. Doo Hoon confesses that he once lacked the courage to confess his feelings to Yoon Soo and chose to avoid him. However, over the years, Doo Hoon has put this past behind him, while Yoon Soo begins to unconsciously care about Doo Hoon from that moment on. Going forward, Yoon Soo and Doo Hoon’s lives undergo a transformation. After work, they spontaneously become a perfect pair for sharing meals, and every meal becomes precious quality time for them. Deep Night

The pilot for the upcoming Thai BL series starring First Piyangkul and Shogun Paramee has finally revealed it’s trailer after weeks of filming. The story of ‘Deep Night’ portrays a group of guys who work in a host club. But this is not your usual host club, the entertainment offered far surpasses any host club you’ve ever seen. Inside the club there is a forbidden relationship between the owners son and one of the hosts. As they get closer things become more and more complicated.
