WeTV Always More 2024

On the 27th of September 2023, WeTv held an event at Bangkoks Union Hall to announce their 2024 lineup. At this event, WeTV announced they would be collaborating with several production companies to produce four TV series this coming year. One of these projects is already in the works and the trailer for the show was released during the event, the other three are currently in the casting phase. The lineup is as follows;

1. I Saw You in My Dream

This is a collaboration between WeTv and DeeHupHouse. The series will be based on the novel of the same name by Afterday. The story portrays Aya, a young man who has prophetic dreams. Everything he dreams always comes true. He doesn’t have a problem with it until he starts to dream of dating the guy next door. But the guy next door is in a serious relationship with a girl he’s known since high school. How could this prophecy possibly come true.

2. Monster Next Door

This story is adapted from the novel ‘Godzilla Next Door’ by Jiwinil. It portrays an introvert who lives mostly in his room, until an extrovert moves in next door. He is loud, frantic and annoying. Do opposites really attract? Will they find a way to get along? The drama will be a collaboration between WeTV and Kongthup Prodction.

3. Me and Who

Domundi will be collaborating with WeTV on this project. The story is an adaptation of Wickedwish’s novel of the same name. it depicts a young man who dies and is reborn into the body of a billionaire heir. The heir happens to be engaged to a handsome man.

4. Knock-Knock Boys

Seng Wichai, Best Vittswin, Nokia Chinnawat and Jaonine Jiraphat star in the upcoming drama ‘Knock-Knock Boys’. This production will be a collaboration between Kongthup and WeTV. The story follows four college friends who conspire to help their friend lose his virginity.

CHANGE2561 has released a teaser and premiere date for their first-ever original BL series entitled ‘Pit Babe The Series’, the show is slated to be released on CHOne31 very soon. The story is based on a novel of the same name by alittlebxtch. The novel outlays the story of Babe and Charlie. Babe (Pavel Naret) is the no. 1 racer and Charlie’s personal Idol. Charlie (Pooh Krittin) wants to be just like him, but he doesn’t have a race car of his own. So he gathers up his courage and approaches Babe to borrow him a race car. Just for fun Babe agrees with his offer in exchange for sexual favors. Pitbabe will air on November 17th 2023 on IQIYI for international fans.

If It’s With You

MBS is ready to release its next Yaoi drama. The series will star Wataru Hyuga and Takato Okura. The drama follows Amane who has stopped loving people due to a past trauma, meets Ryuji on his first day in Enoshima. At first Amane just wants to play with Ryuji but his feelings take an unexpected turn. The drama will premiere on October 5th 2023 on MBS and on October 6th on GagaOOLala.

What Did You Eat Yesterday Season Two

The highly anticipated sequel of the Japanese drama adapted from a manga series of the same name is set to return to the silver screens. “What Did You Eat Yesterday” revolves around the life and relationship of Shiro Kakei and Kenji Yabuki, a middle-aged gay couple residing in Tokyo, Japan. The series stars Hidetoshi Nishijima as Shiro Kakei and Seiyo Uchino as Kenji Yabuki. In preparation for the new season, the first season and special episode were simultaneously released on Gagaoolala, which will stream the second season as well. The show will premiere on October 6th 2023. The sequel will showcase the life of these two men as they enter their 50s, and the unexpected changes which occur that threaten their happiness.

One Room Angel

Yukinori, a convenience store clerk was accidentally stabbed by a thug and was on the verge of death. After he had completely recovered, he returns home to find an angel waiting for him. The drama is an adaptation based on Harada’s manga of the same name and will be taking over ‘My Personal Weatherman’s’ time slot. It will premiere on October 19th 2023 on MBS. My Universe: You Are My Soulmate

Three stories down, and nine more to go. The next installment in ‘My Universe stars Mick Monthon and Top Pitawat. The drama follows Son, whose family is overly superstitious. They believe that if you run into someone three times in your life then that person is your soulmate. But Son already has feelings for Korn. How can he ensure that Korn will be his soulmate?

Ossans Love (Japan) – Season 2

The sequel to the popular Japanese Series is expected to air in January 2024, five years after the original release date. All the original cast members are expected to return and the story will pick up five years after the events season one. For those who don’t remember the storyline: Haruta Soichi is a 33-years-old single man who isn’t popular with women. He works at a real estate office and lives with his parents. However, one day, his mother walks away from him and he has to live independently. Soichi doesn’t know basic things such as cooking or washing his clothes. He then decides to live with Maki Ryota, a coworker who is good at housekeeping. One day, Ryota and Kurosawa Musashi, a gay coworker, both confess their feelings to Soichi.

My Beautiful Man – Eternal

The quiet, friendless “loner” at the bottom of the class falls in love at first sight with the overwhelmingly beautiful, ruthless and popular “King” Kiyoi. After graduating from high school and going through various ups and downs, Hira and Kiyoi have become lovers and live a happy cohabitation life in Hira’s house. As his university graduation approaches, Hira starts working as an assistant to the popular photographer, Noguchi, and witnesses the work of a professional. He begins to distance himself from Kiyoi little by little, not wanting to get in the way of Kiyoi’s expanding career as an actor. This distance causes disagreements between the two.

‘My Beautiful Man-Eternal’ had its local release in cinemas and on television. It will now be having its international release on Rakuten Viki and GagaOOLala on October 6th 2023.

The Hidden Moon

The supernatural romance ‘เดือนพราง’ by Violet Rain will be adapted into a TV series. The story follows a writer, Khen, who lives and works in Bangkok. He is hired to write an article about an old mansion in Chiang Mai which is being converted into a café in order to attract tourists. On his way there he gets into a serious accident where he almost loses his life. From that day strange things start happening to him. He starts to see ghosts of people who died at the mansion, one in particular catches his attention. ‘The Hidden Moon’ is currently in the casting phase of production.

Boys Like Boys

The first non-scripted LGBTQ+ and BL dating reality show from Taiwan. The program combines elements of ‘Terrace House’ and ‘His Man. Eight courageous men will seek love in a six-day journey. The show will premiere globally on GagaOOLala in October. The exact date is yet to be confirmed.

Couple Or Not

An Upcoming ABO drama based on Yu Sen Ju Lai’s manga ‘October Tug of War’. The story portrays Gui Ming who suddenly starts to exchange consciousness with himself in a parallel world. In this other world he is married to his arch rival and expecting his child. ‘Couple or Not’ is currently in production, more details regarding its release will be made available towards the end of the year.
