“Perfect 10 Liners”, like “We Are Series”, is a fun buddy romedy comedy series, which centers around a group of friends, who grow together and find love. Despite not having much substance, it is a feel-good romcom that is meant to be a comfort watch, with little to no tension. “Perfect 10 Liners” is your quintessential BL, you know what you’re getting and you’re happy with it, and it doesn’t pretend to be anything more than it is. The problem with this, however, is that it can be boring and seem overdone, but at the same time, it is a show that wouldn’t disappoint you with its formulaic storytelling. This is for the slice of life lovers, who just want to watch a good romance and see friends goof around while falling in love with no stakes.
The first part of the story is told through Arc’s (Force Jiratchapong Srisang) point of view (despite him giving us details that he couldn’t possibly have known) and how he fell in love with Arm (Book Kasidet Ploopkphol). Arc meets Arm when Arm joins his peer mentor group, “the Perfect 10 Liners”. Arm and Arc’s relationship starts out strenuously, as Arm sees Arc as a rude and stuck-up senior who overreacts when Arm uploads Arc’s photo on the group’s Facebook page. The two then begin reluctantly hanging around each other because of their affiliation to the Perfect 10 Liners, however, Arc seems to already have his eyes set on Arc.

Despite Arm’s cold and harsh exterior, he has a soft spot for Arm, who he allows into his life very quickly. Arm wants to know more about Arc, and also wants to give Arc the opportunity to get to know him. The two quickly become entranced with one another, understanding one another, and as we can already see in the main story, falling in love. While Arc is initially oblivious to Arm’s advances, he finds himself drawn to him and is prepared to open his heart for him. The two slowly fall in love, as the show reminds us that it’s a series and not a short film, therefore things do not have to develop too quickly.

While the story itself is your run-of-the-mill romance, the structure and storytelling might be more interesting than the story, as it shows different lovers, telling stories from their point of view, in this case Arc tells the story first to some friends and then continues recounting it to a smitten Arm, who listens attentively despite having already lived it. In terms of originality and ingenuity, the story doesn’t shine, however, in terms of being a comfort, slice of life, love story, then the series wins in that regard and at this time of the year when tensions may be high due to the holidays, this might be just what viewers need in the midst of all the bigger plots and bigger stresses of live and family.

Poon (the 9th actor mentioned in the opening) and JJ (even lower on the list) are the stars of this series so far for their comedic antics and frenetic energy.
In a reversal from ENCHANTE, Book is in the playful eager-to-please role and Force is in the spoiled jerk role, so at least they have some new character traits to portray.
ENCHANTE had a messy, but somehow intriguing plot. So far in P1L, ForceBook is getting a very straightforward story, which, unfortunately makes for a pretty uninteresting plot.
The biggest disappointment is Fluke Jeeratch (Fluke #2) who was so terrific in MY RIDE, but here is buried as the boyfriend of the token woman character. Force’s Toyota is frankly more interesting and receives more screen time. Luckily Fluke is being paired with Ohm Thitiwat (Ohm #3) in next year’s MY ROMANCE SCAMMER.
