EarthMix are my favorite GMMTV Ship. They always have been. Not only are the two incredibly close in real-life on screen their chemistry is nothing short of enigmatic. From the global sensation Tale of Thousand Stars in 2021 to the criminally underrated Cupid’s Last Wish in 2022 and the steamy Moonlight Chicken, I would watch this couple read the phonebook if GMMTV produced it.
Now the pair are back with the Thai adaptation of the Japanese super hit Ossan’s Love and it is different from everything you’ve ever seen them in before.
Episode one finds the playful and immature Heng (Earth Pirapat) getting the surprise of his life when his boss, Kongdech (Shahkrit Yamnam), accidentally drops his phone, revealing his wallpaper image is a picture of none other than Heng himself.
At the same time, Heng’s carefree attitude proves too much for his mother, who decides to leave the house when he refuses to move out on his own. With his mother—and her homemaking skills—gone, Heng quickly finds himself in need of help. Enter Mo (Mix Sahaphap), Heng’s old coworker (and friend) with a knack for cooking, who seems to be just what Heng needs to restore some balance to his childish existance. However, things get even more complicated when Kongdech confesses his feelings – followed by Mo – who does the exact same thing, kissing Heng while he’s in the shower.

Episode two picks up where episode one leaves off with Heng’s life takes an unexpected turn when, for the first time, he receives not one but two confessions—both from men. While showing apartments to his university mentee, Alone, Heng learns that the former ladies’ man now has a boyfriend, Kaitong (guest stars First Kanaphan and Khaotung Thanawat—another GMMTV SuperShip). The couple’s dynamic seems to inspire Heng and his roommate, Mo, to reflect on their own tangled feelings. However, the tension between Heng and Mo escalates as they find themselves at odds over nearly everything. Frustrated by the confusion, Mo decides to downplay his feelings, telling Heng he was only joking about liking him—a lie he can’t fully commit to.

Later, on the office rooftop, Kongdech surprises Heng with a homemade lunchbox and opens up about the moment he first started to fall for him. Mo overhears this heartfelt confession and can’t hold back anymore. Stepping into the conversation, he admits his true feelings for Heng and declares that he won’t back down without a fight. A competitive exchange ensues, with Mo boldly telling Kongdech, “Be quiet! The adults are talking!” (Note: The moment was hysterical and has become one of my top ten favorite moments in a GMMTV series.)
When it becomes clear that Heng doesn’t reciprocate his feelings, Mo chooses to move out, not wanting to jeopardize their friendship. However, after reconnecting with Alone and Kaitong, who have mended their relationship, Heng realizes his mistake, but it’s too late. Mo decides they can no longer be friends. But, Mo has a plan. He’s not going to let Mo go that easily.

Episode Three found the employees including Heng and Mo go on a work trip to a hotel. Hilarity ensues and by the end of the episode Mo agrees to move back in with Heng.
What I love about this series is that Earth and Mix have completely switched roles. Normally stoic and Later as dominant, Henry is such a little pixie while Earth is the serious (but albeit confused) aggressor. There is a moment in episode one where Mo hopes on Heng’s back and, struggling, Heng says they should switch roles, so they do.
Genius.
Plus, the series has a wicked theme song featuring another GMMTV favorite, Jennie Panhan.
This is the third (that I know of) GMMTV Thai adaptation of a J-Drama after Cherry Magic! and My Love Mix-Up! and I will be honest, unlike the others I have not seen the original version of this series (I know it’s incredibly popular, I’m sorry). It is on my list, I just haven’t gotten around too it. I enjoy this one. A lot – so far it’s the best out of the batch. I cannot wait to see where the series goes.
