“The Heart Killers” aired on Wednesday’s for the last twelve weeks and made every hump day a little more bearable for me. I truly fell in love with the characters. Style stole the show with his shenanigans and reckless persona. Also, at least two people quoted his line when I asked everyone for their favorite parts of the series. “Gorgeous man with clear skin found dead in a crop top.”

I would recommend it to anyone, but especially to those who love dark comedy with a touch of thriller. It is going on my #BLWatchlist and will probably end up in my top 10 for 2025.

It is a unique blend of comedy, action, and thriller.

1. I’m so glad Kant and Style didn’t get themselves arrested.

2. “Dinner with Mom” will haunt me.

3. Kant and Bison between the hanging laundry is a visual I didn’t expect.

4. Style is the sweetest man. Fadel is so lucky.

I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S OVER!! I’m sitting in my living room in tears, not because it was sad, but rather because I don’t get to see them next week. 😭😭😭

Fadel, Style, Kant, and Bison took us on a wild ride and…

Perfect 10 Liners Episode 16 (Thai BL on YouTube and Tencent)

Final thoughts – (YothaGun storyline)

1) It was nice to learn the basis for Yotha’s distress.

2) I’ll never understand Yotha’s mom.

3) Faifa hides his trauma like a pro while being so positive. 😭

4) The story was wrapped up beautifully with a clear ending. Next up, FaifaWine! 🤩

Best Friend Ep 2 of 4 (Myanmar BL miniseries on MCA Entertainment YouTube channel)

Thoughts –

1) A lot of story can be told in an 11-minute episode.

2) I can’t believe he left his girlfriend who he’s in a long distance relationship with to sleep alone and slept on the couch with his “best friend.” Clearly, there are feelings afoot. 👀

3) The cast is only 3 people, and the filming is simple, but the acting makes up for it in a lot of ways. Both leads say a lot with their eyes.

The Boy Next World Episode 6 (Thai BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) Will Phu be able to forgive Cir for such a major lie?

2) Is it getting hot in here, or is it just me? I give this episode a rating of 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶.

3) The mom is horror-movie level terrifying.

4) More Jin, please. 🙏

Ossan’s Love Thailand Episode 6 (Thai BL on YouTube)

Thoughts –

1) A full minute of Earth and Mix staring at each other feels like no time at all.

2) I like how we still see the boss’s story.

3) I like how much effort Heng put into saving the bar.

4) It was fun watching Heng be jealous.

5) EarthMix’s favorite scene is mine as well. Heng was so serious and still. There’s no way Mo could second guess because Heng made the first move to kiss him. I enjoyed the surprise in Mo’s eyes when their lips touched. The smile. It was perfect.

Wednesday February 12

Impression of Youth Episode 6 (Taiwanese BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) The younger couple’s ages really became apparent in this episode. 🙄

2) I love that Bingchen took Luxi with him to say goodbye to Lanxin. That was the most heartfelt moment.

3) Their soothing story contrasts nicely with the storm of youth portrayed by the other two.

Thursday, February 13

Checkered Shirt Episode 2 (Korean BL on SukFilm YouTube channel)

Thoughts –

1) For 9-minute episodes, the plot is well-developed.

2) I’m glad they kept the story simple.

3) Jungwoo is pretty brave to go home with a stranger he doesn’t know well.

When it Rains it Pours Episode 6 (Japanese BL on Gagaoolala)

Thoughts –

1) There are sensitive scenes in this episode and it should have a trigger warning.

2) I cheered when Kazuaki made things clear with his ex-girlfriend. He had strong boundaries finally. 👏

3) Sei must be feeling a lot of complex emotions right now. On the one hand, he wanted to be with Fuji. On the other hand, Fuji was making a power play, not a loving one.

4) I wonder if Sei will be able to see that he was being manipulated and controlled this entire time.

Heart Stain Ep 3 & 4 (Korean BL on iQIYI in the US)

Thoughts –

1) I worry about Doha’s self-esteem, but I’m also rooting for him.

2) I hope Woohyeon opens his eyes at some point before it’s too late.

3) I’m kind of disappointed the confession happened.

Exclusive Love Ep 1 & 2 (Taiwanese BL on Gagaoolala, iQIYI, and Viki)

First thoughts –

1) I was hooked from the opening scene when men in black kidnapped a live-streamer.

2) Kidnapping in a body bag for the win.

3) I’m convinced that Parker Mao (the actor who plays the current funeral director) could create chemistry with a rock.

4) I will keep watching. 👀

Fight for Love Episode 2 (Vietnam BL on YouTube)

Thoughts –

1) The drama revealed in this episode was epic.

2) Binh deserves better.

3) The crying scene was well done. The two leads have great chemistry.

4) I’ll keep watching. I like a light-hearted mess.

ThamePo Episode 10 (Thai BL on YouTube)

Thoughts –

1) ThamePo really decided to rip our hearts out for Valentine’s Day. 😭

2) Normalize idols dating. They choose to sing for us and work hard to put on shows. They choose to be in the spotlight and to be role models. That doesn’t mean they can’t have personal lives.

3) Pepper’s girlfriend is stunning. I refuse to believe they won’t get back together.

4) I have a feeling ThamePo 💔 is coming.

The Last Time Episode 1 (Thai BL on Tencent and YouTube)

First thoughts –

1) I wish the main character had been the boss instead of the lazy young office worker.

2) The production quality is just rough enough to be funny.

3) The age gap doesn’t bother me in this case, and the boss is interesting enough to try another week.

4) I’ll try one more episode.

FC Soldout Episode 5 (Korean BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) Maybe in the next episode, they’ll be brave in real life instead of just in their dreams.

2) Still, there’s not really any soccer. I kind of want to see them gel as a team and prove everyone wrong.

3) There are a lot of cute boys in this one.

Eternal Butler Episode 10 (Taiwanese BL on iQIYI and Gagaoolala)

Thoughts –

1) This episode was surprisingly well-done.

2) I feel like in this second installment of the robot/human connection they are doing a better job of making it clear that the AI have developing, complex feelings just like us.

3) Ever 4 is the sexiest AI I’ve ever seen. I like the way the veins pop out on his hands.

Saturday, February 15

I’ll Turn Back This Time Episode 6 Finale (Chinese BL on Gagaoolala)

Final Thoughts –

1) Not every romance has a happy, fairytale ending. Sometimes, love means more than that. They were brave enough to go in that direction.

2) Shen Nan’s courage in this episode was on another level.

3) I wish it was longer so we could dive into who the master mind behind the time travel is.

The real question: Is it worth watching? I think it was an enjoyable short story, but it could get frustrating because they don’t have as much room to develop the story. However, the main leads were believable and had good chemistry. They were enjoyable to watch. If you can’t handle a non-romantic ending, then skip this one.

Gel Boys Episode 2 (Thai BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) Watching this show makes me want to add more color to my life.

2) Spotify playlists have a whole new meaning.

3) Fou4mod flat out rejected the girl who wanted a situationship, but immediately said yes to Chian… the power of a crush. 👀

4) This show is so fun and worth watching week to week.

This week had some truly epic moments between “The Heart Killers” ending, YothaGun in “Perfect 10 Liners” ending, and ThamePo wrecking us all for Valentine’s Day. There doesn’t seem to be any new series dropping next week, but I have my fingers crossed that GMMTV will give us the next series they plan on showing. Will it be “My Golden Blood”? 👀 We’ll have to wait and see. I have my fingers crossed.
