This week, two major Thai platforms dropped previews for their upcoming series and I am super excited for some of them.

Domundi is the company that produced “Cutie Pie” and correspondingly ZeeNuNew, who became a famous Thai ship because of it. Domundi dropped 11 new series on Mandee YouTube channel, but I’m also including the series that haven’t been released yet from their previous lineup. Now without further ado, here is my ranking based solely on my level of excitement.

1) Love Upon a Time – I’m excited to see NettJJ in a series.

2) The Next Prince – FINALLY (It is scheduled to air sometime in April)

3) Mr. Fanboy – I love a fanboy/idol plot with a twist. It looks like a fun ride.

4) Hug E-Lhee the Musical – Nunew and singing plus enemies to lovers and silliness seems like a winning combo to me!

5) Khemjira- I don’t normally go for horror, but I found the supernatural element intriguing.

6) Your Third – on the surface, it seemed cute, but I think there’ll be some underlying heartbreak that will make it special.

7) Magic Lover – Harry Potter meets BL – at least that’s what the pilot felt like. 👀

8) Restart – Tommy Sittichok (from Why R U) is the lead, and Poppy Ratchapong is kissing boys, so I’m ready. Bring on the mess!

9) You(r)Tuber – The plot looks simple and cute.

10) Duang With You – 2 boys doing music together is always super cute.

11) Unknown Love and Your Sky special – these are close to the bottom because there was no trailer.

12) Zomvivor – It’s included because they said there would be a BL in there. Still, Zombie horror is my least favorite genre.

The second company to drop new titles was Studio Wabi Sabi. I would say their most famous BL series is “Until We Meet Again”. Their most recent project was “Fourever You” and the three titles dropped this week are all continuations of that story. Once again, I’ve ranked them by level of excitement:

1) It’s Winter Season- I always wanted to see the continuation of Suea’s story, and now I get to. Also, their story is so compelling even from the seven-minute pilot.

2) The Sun From Another Star – I love the stories where the main character can see ghosts, and this one also has Arthit, whom I thought was an interesting character in the original. He’s the one who was attacked by Piranhas.

3) Beside the Sky – I’m the least excited about this one. It looks kind of dark, and the plot was a bit all over the place, but the actors’ chemistry was great.

Also, Billkin and PP Krit’s new movie trailer dropped this week. “The Red Envelope” looks hilarious, but who knows how long it’ll take to release internationally.

Sunday, February 16th

Perfect 10 Liners Episode 17 (Thai BL on GMMTV YouTube Channel)

Thoughts –

1) Allergies are no joke. Faifa is so eager to make everyone happy he is willing to get sick. 😢

2) I can’t wait to watch Wine scold him endlessly until he starts caring about himself.

3) Until that happens, no one will feel special in his care.

4) The chemistry that Junior and Mark created in this episode is perfect. Also, I like the idea of a heart only being chipped instead of broken.

The Boy Next World Episode 7 (Thai BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) Me: Yay! Jin and Wim date this episode. Wim: 🤬 How did I end up here? Why did you kiss me?

Jin: Aww, adorable.

2) Phu broke my heart 💔. He has so much empathy.

3) NEW THEORY: Cir has Dissociative Identity Disorder.

Best Friend (Myanmar BL on MCA Entertainment YouTube channel)

Thoughts –

1) I’m enjoying the simplicity of this mini series coupled with some compelling acting and chemistry with the leads.

2) I’m glad he let his girlfriend go. He clearly no longer had feelings for her. Now, he just needs to convince his roommate that they should be more than friends.

Monday, February 17th

Ossans Love Thailand Episode 7 (Thai BL on GMMTV YouTube Channel)

Thoughts –

1) The opening scene where Heng recounted the kiss to Mo was 🔥.

2) I like that Mo said it didn’t matter who fed who in their relationship.

3) Heng isn’t embarrassed to be with Mo at all. Why did Mo look so sad and relieved at the same time during their conversation on the stairs?

4) Proudly, Heng announces to the world that he and Mo are officially a couple!

Mo is quietly freaking out.

Boss Kengdach is freaking out.

The Japanese correspondent, Haruta, was thrilled! (Thanks to Tanaka Kei for his guest appearance)

My only thought is, “Heng, you needed to get Mo’s consent first. 🤦‍♀️”

Wednesday, February 19th

Impression of Youth (Taiwanese BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) I want more of Bingchen and Luxi. 🙏

2) Luxi, finally remembering their drunken kiss and getting shy, was cute.

3) Honestly, the side couple is driving the plot forward for me, and the only reason I’m continuing this series.

Thursday, February 20th

When it Rains It Pours Finale (Japanese BL on Gagaoolala)

Final thoughts –

1) It was beautiful to watch. I think it would be stunning as a binge watch.

2) I like the raw humanness of it. Every character is complex and flawed.

3) Fujisawa (the roommate of Sei) was my least favorite. I found him hard to comprehend.

4) Grab a comfy blanket and a delicious beverage of some sort. Maybe eat some snacks and get lost in their story for a few hours.

Checkered Shirt Episode 3 (Korean BL on SukiFilm YouTube channel)

Thoughts –

1) I thought this would be a simple series, but then they showed two toothbrushes in the bathroom…

2) The kissing scene was well-executed.

3) I will try another week before I decide whether to drop it. I’m not invested enough in the characters to put up with a cheating plot.

Heart Stain Episodes 5 and 6 (Korean BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) I’m glad the teacher let Woohyeon down easy.

2) I wonder if Doha is actually studying abroad or if it was just a tactic.

3) I wish Woohyeon had handled the whole situation better, but alas, they are only teenagers.

Friday, February 21st

1) I can’t believe there are 12 BL series currently airing on Fridays and Saturdays. However, this week I only watched 8 of the 12. The titles I didn’t watch include:

Flirt Milk, Bali Hai, The Last Time, and Blessing of Love.

Exclusive Love Episode 3 (Taiwanese BL on Viki, iQIYI, and Gagaoolala)

Thoughts –

1) I think Du Zhi is just putting on an act right now and isn’t actually cold-hearted. His backstory is heartbreaking.

2) Zhan’s story is also heartbreaking.

3) I found it entertaining that the friend pointed out that Zhan was experiencin Stockholm Syndrome. 😂

ThamePo Episode 11 (Thai BL on YouTube)

*Yes, they did have a dreaded episode 11

Thoughts –

1) I was doing great up until the point when the CEO said she was doing what everyone wanted, and we saw them all move on toward their dreams, BUT WE DIDN’T SEE THAME. 😭😭 Then Po got the care package, and I was done. 😭

PorschArm the Wedding Episode 1 (Thai LGBT Reality Series on YouTube and Gagaoolala)

First thoughts –

1) I love that they included domestic moments. I feel like it showed them coming together despite the arguing.

2) Two ceremonies make a lot of sense for an introvert and an extrovert.

3) It was so interesting to learn that some people who see their engagement video think it’s some kind of clip from a series.

4) I love the format! I will keep watching.

FC Soldout Episode 6 (Korean BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) The only real flirting Kangjae accomplished was cuddling Jiwoo on the exercise mat.

2) There was actually soccer this episode!

3) I giggled at Kangjae in the formal suit.

Eternal Butler Episode 10 (Taiwanese BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) The sexy robot is now the sexy, horny robot. 😂

2) I’m surprised how much I’m enjoying this series. It’s light and fluffy with mild amounts of conflict and angst, but has a solid, clear plot.

3) I find it fascinating to watch the robot develop feelings and emotions, but he still has difficulty identifying them.

Fight For Love Episode 3 (Vietnamese BL on RL Studio YouTube Channel)

Thoughts –

1) This is such a fun series. I’m enjoying the main leads acting a lot.

2) Binh has a compelling story. I was mad on his behalf and how he was treated in the past. 😡

3) The song in the frog costume was cute. 🐸

Saturday, February 22nd

Gelboys Episode 3 (Thai BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) Chian’s loneliness and abandonment issues were so clearly depicted and heartbreaking.

2) Last week, it was color I wanted to add to my life, and this week, it’s glitter.

3) Don’t forget to watch the BTS in between the episodes on iQIYI! They’re fascinating.

Sashes and Hearts Episode 1 Premiere (Pinoy BL on Oxin Films YouTube Channel)

First and Last Thoughts –

1) It’s very beauty pageant oriented and I’ve never been into pageants.

2) The story isn’t immediately apparent in episode 1, which made it challenging to get invested in any characters.

3) It had a soap opera flair and pretty boys.

4) I won’t be continuing this series.

Teenager Judge Finale Episode 20 (Vietnam BL on O2 Productions YouTube Channel)

Thoughts –

1) I haven’t watched this since the first couple of episodes because it seemed like there was going to be a lot of angst. However, in my opinion, O2 Productions has the highest quality from Vietnam, and I’m sure the story is worth checking out if you’re into angst and drama. I will probably watch it eventually.

This next week, not many new series are starting, but we are getting a new Korean BL called Secret Relationships. It should drop its first episode on Thursday the 27th on iQIYI. I don’t know much about it, but from everything I’ve seen from other fans, it has the potential to be a messy drama.
