After The drama of The Heart Killers (เขาจ้างให้ผมจีบนักฆ่า) and the supernatural sex appeal of My Golden Blood (เลือดนายลมหายใจฉัน) I am glad to see GMMTV returning to their lighthearted roots with their newest series Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist. The Series stars Mark Pakin (ภาคิน คุณาอนุวิทย์) and Ohm Thipakorn (ฐิภากร ฐิตะฐาน) and is absolutely adorable.
Sant (Ohm), a university student with an insatiable sweet tooth and a dessert ASMR channel, faces the ultimate betrayal—a cavity. His sugar-coated world comes crashing down, landing him in the chair of Jay (Mark), a maddeningly gorgeous dentist with a cool, untouchable air. From the start, their dynamic is pure oil and water, but as Sant endures his treatments, he starts to wonder—does Jay actually care, or is he just that good at keeping things strictly professional? And more importantly… why does his heart race every time Jay so much as adjusts his gloves?

Based on Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist (แฟนที่ทันตแพทย์ส่วนใหญ่แนะนำ) by master storyteller JittiRain, the series is helmed by BL drama royalty, Aof Noppharnach (นพณัช ชัยวิมล)—which means my expectations are sky-high.
And as always, GMMTV does not disappoint.
The first episode wastes no time establishing that Pakin’s Jay is bisexual. It’s handled effortlessly—about .02 seconds in, and boom, it’s done. But that small moment adds depth to the story, setting it apart from the usual “I don’t like men, only him” or “everyone in this world is gay” narratives.

Character-wise, Mark is downright dreamy as Dr. Jay—bonus points for that scruff on his otherwise flawless face. As for Sant, I’ll admit, I found him a little annoying at first… but that’s the point. This is his story, his journey of growth.
It’s cute, it’s got potential, and I’m excited to see where it goes.
More BL Drama reviews soon so…
Stay Tuned.

I saw the opening scene differently. After re-watching, I think Jay has been set up / encouraged with his online chatting and potential date by whomever he’s talking to on the phone – maybe Jimmy’s character? He says to the phone dude that “he’s not ready for a relationship and doesn’t want to waste her time” which may (or may not) be code for, “I’m not really into girls so this is pointless.” Especially by going full throttle with Sant minutes later, it sure seems like he’s contradicting his own sentiment.
These are fictional characters, so it really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, but I’m not sure a potential date with a woman tells us anything concrete about Jay’s sexual identity.
4 out of 5 for me, too.
