BLs were slim pickings due to the Thai New Year, but there were plenty of fun happenings on social media with the actors and ships. Be sure to check out all the shenanigans.

This week, I finally had the opportunity to watch “Secrets Happened on Lichi Island”. What a beautiful mini-series. I highly recommend it, but beware of tiny subtitles. Watch it on your phone or tablet, it’s actually easier.

Final thoughts –

1) The cinematography is beautiful.

2) There were a few moments where I was drawn out of the story, but overall, it was well done.

3) The acting was great. 👏

Tuesday, April 15

There are no BLs on Tuesdays either. Luckily, there was a YouTube live to join and participate in. We had a lot of fun this last week and talked about our currently airing favorites as well as our Top 5 that have aired so far this year.

Wednesday, April 16

My Golden Blood Episode 6 (Thai BL on iQIYI and Gagaoolala)

Thoughts –

1) Vampire stories are compelling because of the mix of horror elements with romantic drama.

2) The little girl played Creepy really well. 👏

3) The way Mark looks at Tong would melt the stoniest heart.

4) I now understand the power of the beach.

Lost in the Woods Episode 5 (Thai BL on Gagaoolala)

Thoughts –

1) This episode focused on Hem and Fifa’s building empathy, and it was beautiful.

2) The cinematography continues to be stunning, especially with how they frame the nature shots and match them to the mood of the scene.

3) Hem is a drunken fool, but I love him anyway for his kindness toward Fifa.

Thursday, April 17

Business as Usual Ep 3 (Korean BL on Viki)

Thoughts –

1) It’s nice to see strong, adult communication skills in a series.

2) Their college dating was an epic failure.

3) I’m glad Jin Hwan and Min Jun are no longer afraid to state their minds.

4) Their adult relationship may actually work.

Top Form Episode 6 (Thai BL on WeTV aka Tencent)

Thoughts-

1) I can see both sides, and I hurt for both of them.

2) I like how Boom used touching his neck and trying to hide the mark as a clear indicator of discomfort. Akin may not remember, but his body does.

3) The final scene was so powerful and heartbreaking. 🔥👏

Something is not Right Ep 1-2 (Korean BL on Viki)

Note: Episodes air on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

First Thoughts –

1) Ep 1 was a fun start to the series. The set-up was cute.

2) By ep 2, I’m already annoyed. 🤣🤣 Miscommunication is my least favorite story device, and I want to lock them both in a room until they talk.

3) Great chemistry, though.

4) I will keep watching.

Friday, April 18

Shows I’m Not Watching:

Exclusive Love (Taiwanese BL on Viki and Gagaoolala)

Heesu in Class 2 Ep 7 (Korean BL on Viki)

Thoughts –

1) The pacing is slow, but I’m still holding out hope that the confession will come before the very last scene of the final episode.

2) Heesu has moved on, and we all cheered.

3) Seungwon is so supportive, it’s refreshing.

Fight for You Episode 5 (Taiwanese BL on Gagaoolala, IQIYI, Viki)

Thoughts –

1) “Fight for You” is such a cute series. I like how both characters are being portrayed as somewhat inept.

2) Fake relationships to real relationships will always be classic. Their chemistry is fire.

3) Da Hei is such a lovable character, especially with how he treats his sister.

Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist Episode 4 (Thai BL on IQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) Jimmy’s character makes their first appearance!!

2) Mark and Ohm have pretty good chemistry.

3) The dentist skit had me thinking about my life choices.

4) I will try one more episode to see if I want to continue with this series. I feel like I’m not the target audience at all.

Saturday, April 19

Shows I’m not watching:

Close to You (Korean anthology BL on YouTube)

Heesu In Class 2 Episode 8 (Korean BL on Viki)

Thoughts –

1) I’m glad Heesu finally likes someone who can like him back.

2) I hope the final scene doesn’t cause Seungwon to lose courage.

3) I like all of the little words of wisdom Heesu narrates throughout the episodes.

Your Sky of Us Episode 3 Finale (Thai BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) The fluffiest fluff that ever fluffed.

2) Cuteness overload.

3) Rings are pretty, and so are flowers.

There wasn’t a lot happening this last week, but next week is looking up. Two new series start on Sunday, April 19. “My Stubborn” will be airing uncut on IQIYI. I would label it spicy, sexy, office romance with a lot of messiness. MFlow Entertainment is always hit or miss, so it has the potential to be a hot mess as well. “Boys in Love” from GMMTV also starts on April 19th. It looks like your classic coming-of-age high school BL. Fluffy with a heart. It’ll also air on IQIYI here in the US.

Next Saturday, the 26th, “The Bangkok Boy” will start airing on Gagaoolala. It looks dark and gripping with a lot of violence and a forbidden romance.
