I was lucky that this week I had a five-day holiday because there were five premieres. If I had to rank them by level of enjoyment, it would be as follows:

1) My Sweetheart Jom

2) Knock Out

3) Be Mine, Be Yours

4) Eye Contact

5) Loy Kaew First Love

“My Sweetheart Jom” is right up my alley, and the worries I had about age gaps and roles weren’t as significant as I’d thought they’d be. That’s mainly because the lead character is actually two years out of high school; he just never graduated. Knock Out was also excellent, but I thought it would be. I love sports-themed BLs with solid plots and a love story. Be Mine, Be Yours was also excellent. The subtitles were great, and the cinematography was pretty. The story was easy to follow and well done. I will continue watching those three for sure.

Boys in Love Episode 4 (Thai BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) I can see problems coming for Kim from miles away due to his boundary issues.

2) I like how Shane and Kit support each other. Their conversation about what they’ve gotten from being together was adorable.

3) I was nervous for Tan when he got discovered following Nat.

4) This show is a ray of sunshine each week.

My Stubborn Episode 4 (Thai BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) I wonder why Jun could think anyone else was knocking on his door.

2) Sorn was acting like the nasty childhood friend who puts gum in your hair and then laughs.

3) If Jun did the things Sorn did, Sorn would be pissed.

4) Every episode has a five to six-minute spicy scene. Don’t ask me how I know that.

First thoughts –

1) I have a serious question. Why do so many BLs start with a shower scene? 👀

2) This show feels old school.

3) There seems to be two disparate stories, one in college and one in high school.

4) I’ll try one more episode.

My Golden Blood Episode 10 (Thai BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) The creepy music when they enter Thara’s domain made it feel like Mark was sending Tong to die. Great choice in music, very foreboding! 🔥

2) Of course, it’s the cat that helps Tong solve the mystery.

3) Tonkla’s funeral sequence was beautiful and so sad.

Shows I’m Not Watching:

Never Fair Episode 3 (Korean BL on Sukfilm YouTube Channel)

Business as Usual Episode 7 special (Korean BL on Viki and Gagaoolala)

Thoughts –

1) If you’re looking for pure domestic bliss, then look no further.

2) This episode was cute and fluffy, and everything an epilogue should be.

3) In real life, couples fight, make up, and then keep loving. So real. So sweet.

Thoughts –

1) “Because I’m a professional.” 🤣🤣

2) I wonder what the matching rings mean. 🤔

3) I feel like only one major plot point happened this episode, but it was only 15 minutes long.

Top Form Episode 10 (Thai BL on Tencent)

Thoughts –

1) These cast and crew do heartbreak beautifully. Every episode brings tears.

2) I enjoyed the dream sequence where Akin got to say goodbye to his grandmother.

3) Jin’s protectiveness and love were so apparent in this episode.

4) It’s almost over! 😭

The Ex-Morning Episode 0 (Thai BL on YouTube)

Thoughts –

1) The level of anticipation is rising! I’m so excited about this series. Krist and Singto are both amazing, and all the characters look super fun!

2) I can’t wait to laugh and cry with them. 🔥🥰

Mission to the Moon Episodes 4-6 (Thai BL on YouTube)

Thoughts –

1) Each week has an episode that is split into three parts and airs over three days, so I will only write one review on Thursday.

2) I like the premise of a spirit trying to reunite with their long-lost love.

3) The two leads are cute together.

Fight for You Episode 9 (Taiwanese BL on iQIYI, Gagaoolala, Viki)

Thoughts –

1) The pacing of this show is great. It’s only episode 9, and the major romantic disaster has already happened.

2) I’m glad the truth was finally revealed. I also like that Xiao Bai didn’t try to make excuses at that moment.

3) I think Da Hei started to forgive when he talked to his friend. Xiao Bai’s confession sealed it.

Pit Babe 2 Episode 3 (Thai BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) I understand Alan’s wrath completely.

2) Willy gives me the creeps. Also, it’s crazy that he can drive one-handed.

3) I like how easily Babe and Charlie communicate how they feel.

4) I’m glad Charlie kept control of the car when the drug kicked in.

Sweet Tooth, Good Dentist Episode 8 (Thai BL on iQIYI)

Thoughts –

1) I’m considering starting to post this series on social media.

2) This episode tugged at the heartstrings.

3) Mark and Ohm did fantastically with their tension and kiss.

4) Sant’s mom created another layer of complexity.

My Sweetheart Jom Ep 1 (Thai BL on YouTube)

PREMIERE

Note: Episode 1 is one hour and twenty minutes!!

First thoughts –

1) I liked the stark difference between Jom’s and Yothin’s lives at the beginning. I also like how they set up Yo’s troubled past.

2) I like a good “flawed to growth” character arc.

3) It was fun to see Saint on the screen again.

4) I’ll keep watching.

Loy Kaew First Love Episode 1 (Thai BL on YouTube)

2) This series feels a bit like watching a stage play.

3) The main leads have good chemistry.

4) I may try another episode if I have time.

1) Complexity, emotion, sports, and a love story are a great combination.

2) Were Typhoon and Thun just close brothers, or more? Curious minds need to know. 👀

Thoughts –

1) I like that Charan continued to look into Thatdanai’s case even after the king told him to just declare him dead.

2) 😭🔥 They got what they wanted with Khanin competing, but little did they know the reason, which was that he wanted power so he could find out who killed his “father.”

3) Once again, Nunew’s acting is 🔥.

4) I think Charan is already aware of his developing feelings. He is doing everything he can for Khanin while still trying to maintain what he sees as a proper distance because of their status difference.

5) Prince Khanin is already learning how to throw around his weight. Love the sass!!

Be Mine Be Yours Episode 1 (Thai BL on Thai PBS (Vipa)

1) Thank you for English subtitles. 🙏

2) Beautifully filmed.

3) Interesting storyline.

The Bangkok Boy Episode 4 (Thai BL on Gagaoolala)

Thoughts –

1) I did a lot of cursing at the screen today.

2) I’m glad Sun talked Peace off the ledge. He seemed so happy and glad to be doing a good deed. Plus, Peace is very cute with his Korean accent.

3) We can add yet another trigger warning to this episode. This episode contains suicidal intentions.

This next week, “Ai No Kisetsu Season of Love in Shimane” is set to premiere on Gagaoolala uncut on Sunday, May 18. It seems to be a story of longing. “I Promise I Will Come Back” is a Thai BL that is set to premiere on Tencent on Monday, May 19th. It is a BL that is about tourism and a love affair between a Taiwanese boy and a Thai boy.

On Thursday, one of the most exciting series for me this year will drop episode 1. “The Ex-Morning” is a Thai BL set to air on YouTube (I think). It is a romantic dramedy set in the news reporting world.

“Moon and Dust” is a Mandarin BL set to air on May 23 on PPeachStory YouTube channel.

“The Sparkle in Your Eye” is a Mandarin BL set to air on Gagaoolala on May 24.
