Things settled down a bit this week, but I still think there are too many series on Fridays to make watching everything the same day super enjoyable, so I think I’m going to have to drop some, and the first two that come to mind are “Pitbabe” and “Knock Out”. It’s not that they’re not well-done; they just bring me the least amount of joy. I may watch them on Wednesdays, when there’s not a lot airing.

In other happenings, Girls Love is taking the world by storm. At some point, I will have to watch “Whale Store XOXO”, which is the new GL from GMMTV. I enjoyed the main pairing in their last series, so I have high hopes they’ll do well here as well. Now, when will I find time to watch?

4) I keep thinking about the emotional ending of this episode. I loved it. It was powerful.

5) But I still need to know why Tam left. They moved forward without answering a key question. (Unless the theory I’ve seen, that Phi knows already, is true.) 👀🙄

1) Damn, Khanin was brave for standing up to the king.

2) The king is most certainly aware of what’s going on in the mine. He just doesn’t care.

3) I’m starting to feel like Charan is a true prince. He has the bearing and attitude of one.

1) What a lovely ending. It just might have to be a future episode of The BL Hidden Gems Podcast.

2) Great storytelling, acting, and cinematography.

3) The leads had strong chemistry.

4) Watch it, but it may not be a comfort series due to some uncomfortable themes.

Hermoso Episode 1 PREMIERE (Filipino BL on YouTube)

It seems to be raining Japanese BL dramas, and there’s still more to come. Next week, on Thursday, July 3, “Stay By My Side After the Rain” premieres on Gagaoolala. The main premise seems to be former classmates to lovers, which is one of my favorite classic romance tropes.

On Saturday, July 5, “10 Things I Want to Do Before I Turn 40” premieres on Gagaoolala. The premise for this Japanese BL is about a man who is turning forty and creates a bucket list. He is then helped in fulfilling said list by a younger colleague. Love is the next step.

Both are adult series, and when added to the Japanese BL currently-airing list, it makes the total four that are accessible to international viewers. What an exciting summer!
