This year in BL just keeps getting better and better.

I can’t believe we have a new series from Daou Pittaya and Offroad Kantapon coming in September. “The Wicked Game” teaser was released this week, and it appears to live up to its title. I loved these two actors after their first series, “Love in Translation”. Then, they sealed the deal with “Century of Love”. This series has a very different vibe. Let’s see how they translate these two new characters.

Also, “Revamp” is coming! The trailer is a lot of fun. I know that some people are disappointed because there was a thread of humor in it, but I want to trust Boun Noppanut’s vision and not base any judgment on the preview alone.

Up Poompat and Poom Phuripan released a surprise reel series. Episodes 1-5 are on YouTube. The rest of the episodes, through 20, are on the SwipeDrama app. I had no idea they were interested in reels, but it seems they also produced it. I watched the first 5 episodes, and it’s a tight plot with great acting (as usual). People may know Up and Poom from their series “My Stand In” last year. They also have an upcoming drama titled “Love in Silom”, which looks good. They are both excellent actors, and their YouTube vlog “UpPoomPak” is very cute and very slice-of-life.

They removed the Geo block for “I Feel You Linger in the Air”, which is a Thai Period BL available on YouTube! It was a gorgeous series. Check it out if you haven’t already.

Thanks to X user BoysLovePassion for adding a Brazil BL to their weekly watch list. “Theo and Davi” seems to be airing every other week on the “My Last Name is Life” YouTube channel. Two episodes have currently been released.

Revenged Love announced that they are releasing the rest of their episodes in one fell swoop. By the time this article comes out, it will already be the final episode.

Last, but not least, “The Bangkok Boy Official” announced that they will be having a season 2 of The Bangkok Boy, which I am so excited for (especially since I am spending so much time reviewing it on my Patreon).

Doctor’s Mine Episode 3 (Thai BL on Gagaoolala and YouTube)

🏫 Old School BL

1) The vibe is still very old-school, but the pacing is good and the acting is strong enough to keep my attention.

2) One thing that keeps bothering me is Per’s lack of boundaries and consent. He doesn’t read the room well. At least, Kan seems to be enjoying it.

3) I like the way Knight treats Mild the best. He’s so kind and patient. Love it.

The Proper Way to Write Love Episodes 1 and 2 (Japanese BL on Gagaoolala)

🥰 Adorably Awkward

1) You can tell the HS version of the second lead is awkward, boundaryless, and doesn’t know how to socialize. He also completely adores the main lead.

2) The real question is: Does he know who the main lead is and is pretending cluelessness, or is he truly that oblivious?

3) I finished episodes 1 and 2 wishing for more, so hopefully that continues.

😬 Oh Shit!

1) The pacing for this show is excellent!

2) My main reaction to this episode: “Oh shit.”

3) It seems our dear doc is going to have to accept that In has abilities that aren’t scientifically proven.

4) I LOVE JIMMYSEA! The acting in the scene where Sea’s character falls apart had me in tears. 😭

1) WeinaiJanine is real!

2) I can’t believe Bom, the actor who played Thiwthit, was also Thi in “I Will Knock You”. The contrast is startling!

3) Armin and Thada are so believable. But, some of the things the actors said helped me understand. They got so immersed in these roles!

4) The reason the ending worked is that all the bad things in both timelines were ultimately the result of one person’s actions. It was a genius move.

1) One is trying to be respectful, the other seems to have forgotten that they asked him to do that. 🤣

2) I did realize from a friend that we don’t really know if Jun Xi actually even likes Tuo or not… 🤦‍♀️

3) That was a cool bedroom scene. I like that they played rock-paper-scissors to decide.

4) The end was a bit choppy, but they did give us an interesting cliffhanger.

1) We saw barely any character development or relationship development this episode.

2) All we got was 2 alphas posturing.

3) The ending was interesting, though. We all know what is causing Sheng’s hormones to go wonky.

Shine Episode 2 (Thai BL on WeTV/Tencent)

✒️ Sharp Words

1) Krailert and Naran are a fun match. Their banter through the newspaper and then in person was the highlight of the episode.

2) Trin’s gay panic was also entertaining. I particularly enjoyed watching him sort his books in the wee hours of the morning. It made me giggle.

3) It’s a toss-up for me between Thanwa and Krailert for most interesting character.

👻 What a Fun Start

1) They did a great job with the suspenseful timing.

2) Khem is such an interesting character!

3) I loved the scene where he notices the ghost at the door and saves the little boy.

4) All of the cultural elements were also fun to see and get to know a bit.

5) I’ll be watching this one for sure. Saturday is shaping up to be a great day for BL for the time being!

Next week, Gagaoolala has two new series coming on Tuesday, August 12. The first one is “Love Sea Japan”, which is a remake of the Thai BL series “Love Sea”. The premise is that a famous writer needs new inspiration, and so he goes to an island where he meets a local guide.

The second series is “Rearrange”, which is a Thai BL. The preview promises a fun time-travel type drama. So, if you’re into that, it looks super fun and cute.
