Forget love triangles. What happens when you’re obliviously stuck between three men all vying for your attention?
At the center of the new Korean BL Peach Trap is Yoo Do Ha (Jung Su Bin), a kind but perpetually flustered young man whose life spins into chaos when three very different men enter his orbit at once: his loyal best friend Taek Gyeon (Cha Se Jin), the flirtatious coffee-shop waiter Yeon Ha Ram (Cha Yu Hyun), and his tsundere company team leader Jeon Yeon Sang (Lee Do Han). With these three possible love choices, Peach Trap blends humor, charm, and a touch of chaos as Do Ha becomes the unsuspecting center of everyone’s affection.

Love-triangle plots are hit or miss for me (more often a miss), but Peach Trap’s cheerful quadrangle manages to be more fun than drama. Romantic comedy is the genre I escape to when melodrama in my own life gets a little too much for melodrama on screen. And while there are things in dramatic series I tend to be picky about as a viewer, such as naive and clueless lead characters, those rules often fly out the window for comedies, as long as the humor hits and the romance delivers. And this one feels like the TV equivalent of comfort food: sweet, fluffy, and just self-aware enough to laugh at itself.
Two episodes in, the series feels like Cinderella by way of “choose-your-own-adventure.” Do Ha isn’t cursed with bad options; he’s blessed (and maybe a little overwhelmed) by too many good ones. Although, I should add that with six episodes left to go, there’s certainly room for one of the three romantic choices to go down an antagonistic path, which could change the direction and tone.

But for now, whether viewers find themselves on Team Best Friend, Team Barista, or Team Boss will probably say more about their personal taste than about the story itself, and that’s part of the fun.
The cast plays their archetypes with effortless chemistry: Jung Su Bin’s wide-eyed confusion grounds the comedy, while Cha Se Jin’s protective charm, Cha Yu Hyun’s fun flirtations, and Lee Do Han’s confident allure each bring something distinct to the table. I like interactive series that keep viewers guessing. While I feel like the series is leaning heavily into a Do Ha and Taek Gyeon pairing, since Gyeon is much more developed as a character, it can go anywhere. It’s early yet, but if the show keeps this playful rhythm and light-hearted tone, it could easily become one of the most enjoyable comfort watches of the season.

For a series that keeps love up in the air (and all three suitors on their toes), check out Peach Trap now on iQiyi, and maybe start deciding whose team you’re on early. I’m stuck somewhere between bestie and company team leader.
