“The Tuxedo” Series Review (Ep.1 to 8)

What can you say about this series that has not already been said about a zillion other Thai BL series? Handsome actors, great ambience, fabulous clothes, imprecise story; which is too bad because the main actors can act, as they did bring some character intensity to their roles. The story however, went flat and pedestrian.

“Rainbow Prince” Series Review (Ep.1 to 10)

I am going to come right out and say it: I LOVED THIS SERIES! It is pure escapism and entertained me despite all its cheesiness, tropes, and flat-affect acting. I did not care about any of that. What it did was to allow me for a moment to become a child again and muse. Additionally, whether realized or not, I think this series is ground-breaking for several very important reasons:

“You Are My Sunshine- 2021” (2 Episodes) and “You Are My Stupid Boy- 2022” (3 Episodes) Series Review

Honestly, it is hard for me to be objective about Vietnamese BL’s. There is something so organic and raw about them that they have become incredibly endearing to me. And these two short series live up to that standard as well. It is simply a joy to watch and experience. It is obviously a low-budget production with some sound and technical issues; but what it lacks in quality, it makes up for it with intense efforts on the part of the actors and actresses. It is truly and honestly a labor of love. You can see their complete commitment to this series.
