Let Free the Curse of Taekwondo, a new Korean BL drama, captures this beautifully, blending love and pain in a way that intensifies both. The story follows high schooler Lee Do Hoe (Kim Nu Rim) and his strained relationship with his strict father, the local Taekwondo master. Our Favorite Korean BLs So Far (2024)
A great drama relies on many elements—acting, direction, cinematography, music, and more—to create something that truly resonates. As an emotional viewer, I’m especially drawn to stories that dig deep, even if it takes some effort to piece together the message the series is trying to convey. This definitely applies to the Korean BLs that have resonated with me the most in 2024. Three series, in particular, stood out, checking all the boxes and making each viewing a deeply personal and introspective experience that will stay with me.
