As I sit and write this, I realize it’s finally summer vacation! My teaching job is officially completed until I go back in the fall. There are so many things I’m looking forward to doing, including writing more of my novel and starting a Patreon account. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to be a full-time content creator for the summer.

BL Week in Review
Tomorrow marks the first day of Pride Month, and as we head into another June, I realize how fortunate I am to have discovered this genre. It helped me figure out who I am, and I will be forever grateful.
This is a fiery week because I get to put two more highly recommended series on my BL Watchlist: “Top Form” and “My Golden Blood”.
“Top Form” held its final episode fan meeting on Sunday, and concurrently released its final episode on Tencent/WeTV under VIP only on the same day. What an exhilarating ride, everyone. Absolutely, check it out, but be prepared for tears.
BL Week in Review
There were twenty-four BL series that aired this last week, and consequently, there was no way for me to keep up on all of them. I had to pick and choose, and some of the ones that weren’t as captivating to me got dropped.
That being said, episode one of The Ex-Morning aired on Thursday, May 22. I may have gone a bit crazy and helped with the trend on X, but it’s KristSingto after all. And, in my humble opinion, they are still the kings. I may or may not watch it again tonight after I write this article.

I was lucky that this week I had a five-day holiday because there were five premieres. If I had to rank them by level of enjoyment, it would be as follows:
1) My Sweetheart Jom
2) Knock Out
3) Be Mine, Be Yours
4) Eye Contact
5) Loy Kaew First Love

I think the most exciting thing that happened for me this week was the release of the trailer for “The Ex-Morning”. It was like waking up on Christmas. I’m so excited to see Krist and Singto back on the screen again. I feel like the new trailer gave all kinds of tidbits that I’m curious to see play out. Will their on-screen chemistry be as hot as their stage chemistry?

I write this article on Saturdays, and the most anticipated series of the year so far dropped its first episode today. I must say, it lived up to my expectations. If you can, watch it in real time. I think we are going on quite a journey, and interacting with everyone else who’s also watching is part of the experience of a BL fan. It can be scary to write into the void and respond to strangers, but I discovered that the BL community is most welcoming.
“Fight for Love” Series Review (Ep.1 to 7)
This is yet again another winning BL from Vietnam. It is so definitive in its outcome and perhaps you can see it ending in the same way I did. Satisfying. The whole story unfolds right before you in a magnificent panoramic sweep. Funny. Sad. Poignant. Ordinary. But always entertaining. Always. And so relatable. Almost everything in this story, one can relate to or perhaps have even experienced in some form or another. They can take the ordinariness of living and make it seem extraordinary. Making the issues we face on a daily basis and seeing the traumas we have experienced come to life helps us get the picture of how that impacted our own persona. Perhaps we may not seem important, but our issues certainly are, and we get to see that through them. They visualize our experiences to make them real, impactful, and powerful. At the very least truncate the sum total to see how it does affect us. That has always been the beauty of Vietname BLs. It makes the ordinary seem prominent. And they validate our feelings, failings, and foibles along the way. In a sense, we find we are pretty much the same as everyone else.

BL Week in Review
This week, there was a drastic reduction in the number of series that aired. Four series ended last week, but one more started and three others will start next week. I finally feel like there is some breathing room, especially on Fridays. So, I took some time to truly enjoy sharing thoughts and ideas on social media.
Also, I had an idea. I think it would be fun to go live for this column and chat with all of you in real time about the series that aired during the week, so I’m going to give it a shot.
Join me as I go live on “The BL Xpress YouTube Channel” on Tuesday, March 25 4:30 PM PST Let’s fill the Tuesday void and have a fun chat!
BL Week in Review
This last week saw the end of four series, and another is ending tomorrow. The good news is that Fridays are now down to four series since three of them finished this week. That’ll make life less stressful, at least for me.
“ThamePo” ended on Friday, but I have to put it at the top as another series recommendation. I know, I know. I’ve done a few series recommendations recently, but this one was excellent, and the ending was satisfying. It’s totally worth checking out, especially if you’re in the mood for slow-burn with a touch of idol culture, found family, and friendship all sprinkled with an excellent soundtrack.
