Holy hell, those were some plot twists.

I couldn’t attach the image here due to copyright issues, but if you google an image of messy lines, that’s about as accurate a depiction of the plot as I can give. There were enough plot lines and twists in every episode to rival an Indian soap opera, and I do not make that statement lightly.

Tofu (In Sarin Ronnakiat) is a teddy bear belonging to Nut (Job Thuchapon), and at the beginning of the series, for some inexplicable reason, he magically turns into a human. The reasons for the transformation seem to be connected to Nut’s past, which has slowly been getting revealed, although there is much to go.

There is a whole cast of interesting (and mysterious) characters, including Na (Um Apasiri), Nut’s mother, whom we see at different points talking to Nut’s father, who doesn’t seem to actually be there. There are Nut’s friends and co-workers Gen (First Parada) and Prip (PP Punpredee), the latter being in love with Nut, and also having connections to a man named Tarn (Judo Tantachj) who gets attacked and put into a coma before the series begins. He does seem to have some connections to Nut as well, although that will most likely be revealed much later, and possibly form an important sub-plot. In fact, most of, if not all, the characters seem to share some connection to each other, and at this point, I truly cannot fathom how exactly the narrative will play out.

Sarin and Job are doing great so far in their respective roles. They managed to reel me in, made me happy when they were happy and hurt when they were hurt. They have excellent chemistry with one another, which gets reflected not only in their expressions but in their body language as well.

Gen and Song (who also has some prior connections to Nut, and perhaps Tofu as well) are more characteristic of a “typical” BL couple, with one very forward with his affections, and the other trying to be as much of a tsundere as he can possibly be. First is adorable and Tee Jaruji as Song is bubbly. Needless to say, I enjoy every time they are on screen.

When it is cute, it is tooth-rotting, stomach-hurting cute. But that only forms about one-third of the series. In a show about a teddy bear magically turning into a human, at many times that did not even form the primary plot line what with everything else that was going on. What feel like random dramatic twists right now will I’m sure be important to the plot in the future.

Without giving too many spoilers (not that I can either, because I don’t think I can explain it to even myself right now), it’s best to watch the series and find out for yourself.
