Upcoming Asian BL Dramas- Part III

With Korean BLs on the rise, March saw an unprecedented increase in the number of BL dramas. “Our Dating Sim”, “A Shoulder to Cry On” and “Unintentional Love Story” are dominating the current scenario with their niche storytelling and phenomenal casting. On the other hand, Thai BLs have been on a slow wind; the recent disappointment being the highly anticipated drama “Make a Wish”. The show’s international premiere is still uncertain and, as such, it has left avid fans teetering on the edge. That being said, April will see the advent of some exciting shows, so let’s check out the roster!

Our Dining Table

Having starred in two successful seasons of the dramedy “A Man Who Defies the World of BL” and the hugely popular bromance “Kei×Yaku: Abunai Aibou”, versatile actor Inukai Atsuhiro is back with his third BL romance, Our Dining Table. Joining him on this gourmet journey is Iijima Hiroki and the child actor, Maeyama Kuuga. This show is being adapted from the popular manga “Bokura no Shokutaku” (僕らの食卓) by Mita Ori (三田織) and is set to premiere on April 6, 2023.

My Beautiful Man: Eternal

Adapted from the novel “He, Who is Beautiful” (美しい彼) by Nagira Yuu (凪良 ゆう), My Beautiful Man: Eternal is a sordid conclusion to the immensely popular “My Beautiful Man Series”. While the prequel was set in their school days and focused on the burgeoning romance between the main leads Hira and Kiyoi, the sequel was a more mature interpretation of their unusual connection. Starring Hagiwara Riku and Yagi Yusei, the movie will be a continuation of Hira and Kiyoi’s tumultuous love story as they try to overcome the difficulties plaguing their relationship.

My Story

Evidently, after a delay of almost two years, the sequel to Oxin Film’s popular drama “My Day The Series” will finally hit the screens. Ameer Sanchez, Gio Emprese, Jamil Bonifacio, Leilani Kate Yalung will be reprising their roles as Miss Becky, Jelai, Kim and Jam. Adrian Dionisio and Hiro Shimoji are the new entrants on this block. The show has been filmed in Thailand as well as Philippines and seems to be as lavish as its predecessor!
