It has been a busy month with a continuous onslaught of upcoming dramas/movies. GMMTV dropped their first part of 2024 “BL/GL Lineup”; quite a few popular shows are returning with their sequels or remakes, and we have a slew of upcoming shows slated for release in 2024. Let’s round up the exclusives as we share more updates about these dramas!

The Last Time

Jumdee Film Production has released the official trailer for its upcoming tragic romance ‘The Last Time’. Starring Atiwat Kanchanapiwat and Piched Jongjaihan in the lead roles of Rew and Arm, the show also features Punika Kulsoontornrut and Srisakul Vanasatid as the supporting GL couple, Anna & Ran. Natthaphon Somsak and Kitsakorn Kiatsuranont will be playing the other supporting couple, Aek & Phi. No further details have been revealed.

Synopsis-

Rew is a young, talented writer who won many awards both in Thailand and abroad, and was accepted by people in the company, and was loved by his subordinates. Rew had a girlfriend named Pin who he had been dating since high school. Rew and Pin loved each other very much, always taking care of each other. Both of them planned to get married. One day, when the people at work learned that the two were getting married, they arranged a bachelor party for Rew. That day also coincided with Pin’s birthday, so Rew made an appointment for Pin to come to the party as well, but then there was an unexpected incident. Pin was hit by a car and died that day. As a result, Rew felt guilty and blamed himself, thus Rew became an alcoholic, forgetful and rarely speaking. His smile had faded from his face. Arm, an energetic young man and a fresh graduate student from abroad, was the nephew of the owner of the company that Rew works at. Arm had come to train with Rew as a mentor to teach about work. The two did not quite get along, but they had to work on a project together, which was writing a documentary about traveling in Kanchanaburi province. This project made them feel good for each other and have a deep relationship, but this relationship could not go on if Rew did not open up to his feelings. In the end, Rew had to give up on Arm’s goodness and care because when Arm learned that Rew had cancer, Arm chose to take care of Rew’s final moments. The two then decided to live together to take care of each other. However, the world is always cruel. When Arm and Rew knew the truth about something that made them both unable to continue together, Rew disappeared from Arm’s life. Arm tried every means to find Rew, but couldn’t find him, until finally, Arm got a box. That box had all the answers. What will the conclusion of these two’s love be? Twin The Series

Lovemedia Thailand has released the official teaser for their upcoming sports romance, “Twin The Series”. Starring Frame Ritchanon and Ryan Panya in the lead roles of Sprite/Zee and First, the show is set to premiere on November 3 and will air every Friday at 10:45 PM (GMT+8) on CH3 Thailand. International platform not yet announced. Team Tatchanon and Pooh Phiangphor will be playing the supporting couple, Sam & Thun.

Synopsis-

It is said that identical twins who are produced from the same egg will share a bond as if they were the same person. But not with “Sprite” and “Zee”, the identical twins. Despite following the same route as an athlete from birth, both want to be the only one!

Middleman’s Love

Popular couple Tutor Koraphat and Yim Pharinyakorn will be starring in their first major role as Mai & Jade in Mandee Channel’s upcoming adaptation “Middleman’s Love”. This is their third project together after “Cutie Pie The Series” & “Naughty Babe Series”. Adapted from a novel by littlebbear96, the show also features the “Bed Friend Series” couple James Supamongkon and Net Siraphop as the supporting couple and is set in the same universe. The drama premieres on November 10th and will air every Friday at 22:15 PM (GMT+7) on One31. The rerun will be available on their YouTube, and the uncut version will be available on iQIYI.

Synopsis-

Jade works as a graphic designer. He is always the one in the middle. Middle child. He has got average grades in school. People around him, either his siblings or his friends, are so good-looking that he has always been overlooked or becomes just a middleman for those who want to know his siblings and friends personally. Ossan’s Love Returns

Popular Japanese BL “Ossan’s Love” is set to return after 5 years with a new sequel. Starring Kento Hayashi, Kei Tanaka, and Kotaro Yosida in the lead roles of Ryota Maki, Soichi Haruta, and Musashi Kurosawa; the show will depict the “newlywed life” of Maki after he returns from being transferred to Singapore. Haruta, now 40, is trying to overcome the woes of the pandemic and their long-distance relationship. Since they are given more responsibility at their workplace, the couple struggle with dividing their household chores. Meanwhile, Musashi, who had taken an early retirement, gets a new job. As he visits the couple, his old feelings for Haruta reignite. The sequel is set to premiere in January 2024 and will air every Friday at TV Tokyo. International platform not yet announced.

Sahara-sensei & Toki-kun

MBS has announced the fourth installment in this year’s Tunku Drama Shower. ‘Sahara-sensei to Toki-kun,’ will take over the slot of their ongoing show “One Room Angel”. Based on the manga by Ko Toriya, “Sahara-sensei & Toki-kun”, actors Takumi Kizu and Rintaro Hachimura (WATWING) will be playing the lead roles, Ichiro Sahara, a handsome physical education teacher, and Toki Kanade, a yankee who falls in love with Sahara at first sight. The show will premiere on 30th November, 2023.

Eileen

Anne Hathaway’s queer psychological romance “Eileen” has unveiled the official poster and trailer. Anne will be playing the role of a prison psychologist, Rebecca alongside Thomasin McKenzie, who will be portraying the titular role, Eileen. Adapted from the novel by Ottessa Moshfegh and directed by William Oldroyd, the trailer depicts the dark tone of the movie coupled with its violent theme. The cast also includes Shea Whigham, Owen Teague, Tonye Patano, and Marin Ireland in supporting roles. Eileen releases in movie theatres on December 1st and everywhere else on December 8th, 2023.

The Hidden Moon The Series

Recently seen in a supporting role in the Thai BL “Be Mine SuperStar”, “2moons2” star Benjamin Brasier will be yet again leading another adaptation. Adapted from “The Hidden Moon (เดือนพราง)” by Violet Rain (author of “I Feel You Linger in the Air”), the show stars Brasier in the lead role alongside Folk Touch (If I Love a Boy, Thank God It’s Friday and Brothers). The show is a supernatural horror thriller and is majorly set in 1914s. MGY Entertainment recently released the official poster and pilot teaser for the show. The teaser features a scintillating romance between the lead characters that are filled with intrigue and mystique. The production team is currently scouting actors and the show will probably premiere in 2024.

Synopsis-

The story follows a writer, Khen, who lives and works in Bangkok. He is hired to write an article about an old mansion in Chiang Mai which is being converted into a café in order to attract tourists. On his way there he gets into a serious accident where he almost loses his life. From that day strange things start happening to him. He starts to see ghosts of people who died at the mansion, one in particular catches his attention.

Red Pea Fowl The Series

The past few weeks have been full of speculations for those who have been following the “Red Pea Fowl” social media accounts. The production house has been randomly updating their accounts with information related to the characters while keeping the main leads under wrap. At the “Red Peafowl Grand Opening” event held recently, it was announced that actors Maiake Kandis and Dollar Patchara will be playing the lead roles of Lu Yi Peng and Hong Kong Shuai. Adapted from the novel “Red Peafowl” (นกยูงแดง) by Jun~oN, the show is a crime thriller and has an ensemble casting. The show is set to premiere in 2024.

K10 Global Content (My Ride The Series) released new promotional posters and the official trailer for their upcoming horror BL “The Whisperer”. Starring Fluke Pongsakorn & Tor Komkrit in the lead roles of Kun & Taw, the show is adapted from author Pakanai’s novel of the same name. The show is set to premiere this year.

Synopsis-

After losing his brother and sister-in-law in a tragic accident, Kun is left with the responsibility of taking care of his nephew, Dung Jai. King’s life would be difficult if his partner Taw didn’t support him unconditionally. Tragically, Kun starts seeing the spirits of his brother and sister-in-law still wandering around the house. The young man and his lover find a rented house to start a new life peacefully. But the souls of his brother and sister-in-law still follow him everywhere with terrifying whispers. There’s also a madman who keeps trying to take Duang Jai away from them. The lover who used to be faithful seems to be having a secret relationship with the man next door, Vit.
