Excitement is brewing in the world of Boys Love as a wave of highly anticipated series and movies prepares to grace our screens in the coming months. Fragile

S. Korea has joined a long line of countries that have recreated the SKAM series. Their version will be called ‘Fragile’ and it is expected to air later on this year. The series is a teen drama and it follows a new main character and a new topic each season, ranging from relationship difficulties, mental health issues, sexual assault, homosexuality and more. As of now there is no information on how many seasons the producers will recreate but they promise to follow the pattern of the original series asuch as possible.

Love Syndrome The Beginning

Following the death of the director of this series, Mr. Nontapat Sriwichai, it was unclear whether this series would air. But it seems the work was completed before his passing and the production company is moving forward with the project. Love Syndrome The Beginning is the prequel to the series which aired last year. It is based on books one and two of the series and it portrays the stories of Day, Itt, Night and Gear and how they all met.

Upcoming TV Shows

We are about to have an influx of TV series as several shows have wrapped up filming this week. “OMG Vampire” starring Frank Thanatsaran and Lee Long Shi; “My Love Mix Up” Thai adaptation starring Gemin Norawit and Fourth Nattawat; “Love Sea” starring Fort Thitipong and Peat Wasuthorn. And interesting mix of tropes as well as storylines that will keep us occupied in the months to come.

Gray Shelter

Cha Soo Hyuk is focused only on his survival, without any grand goals. He reunites with Yoon Dae who he was very close with. Yoon Dae was living with his girlfriend but now has nowhere to go. They end up living together. This Korean BL drama stars Lee Jae Bin who previously starred in Choco Milk Shake and it premieres April 11th 2024.

Wayufilm’s next project is ‘Yaoi Academy’ depicts an institute that trains Y series actors who are preparing to enter the industry but face a myriad of problems. The plot is not a new concept as ‘War Of Y’ and ‘Born To Be Y’ followed the same concept, but at the end of the day the day the execution will tell it all. More information coming soon.

We Are Series

GMMTV made an announcement stating that their upcoming BL drama ‘We Are’ will not air on YouTube as usual but rather on IQIYI. Recently GMM has been exploring other channels of airing their TV shows including VIU and Netflix but this will be a first for IQIYI. There is some disappointment as this means that the show won’t be available to everyone for free but with time comes change. The bright side is that GMM has not completely withdrawn from YouTube, their latest BL series ‘Only Boo’ just started airing and it is available on their channel for free.

The Next Prince

The nation of Emmaly is known for its abundance, both by land and water. Emmaly is ruled by a monarchy and is divided into five regions and leaders. According to royal law, each region must send an heir to compete in order to become a monarch. The winning heir’s father becomes the new king of Emmaly. This story follows the crown prince and heir Khanin of the Atsawathewathin royal family and his royal bodyguard Charan Phithakdheva, whose family has been the Atsawathewathin’s royal guard for decades. Khanin lives far away from Emmaly and he doesn’t care about seizing the throne. Charan, as the royal guard, has the duty to bring Khanin back to the country. The drama stars Zee Pruk and NuNew Chawarin and it will air later on this year.

On February 2nd 2024, a show aired on IQIYI. The show was made available for two hours and then was promptly taken down. The reason why the show was taken down was never shared but it has been announced the show will be back on IQIYI and VIU.
