We are back with the second edition of the lucrative business that is fan service. Exclusive to the Thai BL/GL industry, fans spend quite a amount on ticket sales for concerts or purchasing merchandise. Popular brands lobby to support these couples, so they could promote their products. But how many of these pairings have actual chemistry?

Mile Phakphum & Apo Nattawin

One of the most enterprising couples in the Thai BL industry, we have lost count of the magazine covers they have graced or the film festivals they have attended abroad. MileApo are basically and literally a “Brand” of their own. First paired together in the 2022 mafia romance “KinnPorsche”, this pairing was an instant hit because of their explosive chemistry. Keeping in character, they embodied the finer nuances of their characters while bringing to life a tumultuous romance that was equal parts addictive and hot. They were next paired in the historical “Mansuang” where their subtle chemistry won over fans to warrant the production of the upcoming sequel “Shine”. Mile Apo are not only good-looking but also extremely talented.

Jeff Satur & Barcode Tinnasit

Jeff first started his journey starring in mini series like “He She It” & “Ingredients” where he paired opposite Gameplay Garnpaphon. Though his acting talents were appreciated, he didn’t make a name for himself until he was cast as Kim in “KinnPorsche”. Paired opposite the rookie actor, Barcode Tinnasit; their chemistry was innocent and refreshing. Banking on the success of their last show, Jeff & Barcode were paired in the fantasy romance “Wuju Bakery” which is still in production. Recently both actors left Be On Cloud, their old management. Jeff has launched his own agency Studio On Saturn in February of 2023 and is working on a new show “Happy Ending” while Barcode recently appeared in the horror romance “Dead Friend Forever”.

Billy Patchanon & Babe Tanatat

Another pair who have given a new meaning to the whole concept of fan service. Billy Patchanon was first paired opposite Seng Wichai in 2022 hit “Secret Crush on You”. Fans were pleased with their chemistry, and they were an instantaneous hit. Unfortunately, Seng was caught in a scandal when his relationship with Freen Sarocha was revealed and it tore apart this pairing. Next, Billy was paired opposite the rookie actor, Babe Tanatat in the fantasy romance “The Sign”. Any concerns or speculations about his new chemistry with Babe were squashed when the first episode premiered. The show’s ratings reached incomprehensible heights because Billy’s chemistry with Babe was much appreciated and also celebrated. They are the latest trend in the Thai BL industry and their fan following keeps increasing. Freen Sarocha & Rebecca Armstrong

The leading ladies of “Gap The Series, the first GL production in Thailand rose to stardom after starring in this office romance. First paired together as a supporting couple in “Secret Crush on You”, they had a noticable chemistry. Idol Factory made a risky bet and FreenBecky were offered the lead roles in their next adaptation “Gap The Series”. Spanning across 12 episodes, Freen & Becky’s popularity grew each week, turning them into global icons. Despite the controversy surrounding Freen’s relationship with Seng Wichai, our girls are still going strong. They have just finished filming for their upcoming Sci-fi movie “Uranus 2324” which will premiere on 4th July in Thai theaters. Next, they will be starring in the historical romance “The Loyal Pin”.

Fay Kanyaphat & May Yada

The leading ladies of the currently on-air Thai GL “My Marvellous Dream Is You”; Fay & May were first paired together in the fantasy romance “The Sign”. Despite being side characters, their subtle romance was much appreciated which obviously got them the lead roles in “Dream GL”. The show is slowly picking up traction and the natural chemistry between the actresses is the main reason behind it.

Faye Peraya & Yoko Apasra

Who would have thought that a sapphic romance could catapult two struggling actresses into instant stardom? Having played support roles, “Blank The Series” was Faye & Yoko’s first major project. Banking on the success of “Gap The Series” (Blank is set in the same universe and focuses on Mon’s elder sister, M.L. Nueng), Faye & Yoko had to step into roles that drew unwarranted comparisons. The age gap factor which is an undeniable premise in the storyline was another deterrent. Yet, Faye & Yoko broke through the mold and their popularity soared high, with fans demanding a sequel to the entertaining prequel. Their demands were met and the sequel is currently on-air with already more than a million views!

Pavel Naret & Pooh Krittin

First signed by Motive Village, Pavel was paired opposite Dome Woranart in the 2019 hit “2moons2”. As a part & parcel of the “Six Moons”, Pavel enjoyed immense popularity and his fan service with Dome became the talk of the town. In 2020, Pavel becamd the leader of a five-member boy group “OXQ” under Motive Village. The same year, the group disbanded amidst ongoing controversies and all members parted ways with the company. Pavel was next seen in “Coffee Melody” opposite Benz Panupun. Although Pavel’s acting skills were appreciated, the show’s low ratings weren’t in his favor. In 2023, Pavel was signed by Change2561 and was offered the lead role in their first BL production “Pit Babe The Series”. Paired opposite rookie actor, Pooh Krittin, the adaptation become insanely popular because of their electrifying chemistry. Pavel & Pooh will be next starring in the horror romance “Goddess Bless You from Death” and the much-anticipated sequel “Pit Babe Season 2”.

Sailub Hemmawich & Pon Thanapon

Pon has been in the BL industry since 2020 when he first starred as the main lead opposite Bank Thanathip in “The Moment”. They were next paired in the sequel “The Moment Since” and were consistently paired in Star Hunter Entertainment’s next projects “Gen Y” & “Gen Y S2”. Next, Pon was offered the main lead in the fantasy romance “Make A Wish”. A year later, he signed under Change2561 and was paired opposite Sailub Hemmawich in the 2023 hit “Pit Babe Series”. Despite being a supporting couple, they become instant craze and there were catcalls for their separate project. Following the fan’s wishes, Change2561 has paired them as the main lead in their upcoming “This Love Doesn’t Have Long Beans”. Sailub & Pon will be also returning to reprise their roles in “Pit Babe S2”.

Michael Kiettisak & TopTen Supakorn

Another adorable pairing in making. Michael first made a mark for his mature portrayal of a tormented actor in both seasons of “Call It What You Want”. Next, his somber performance in 2022 Sci-fi romance “Till the World Ends” was much appreciated. Recently signed under CHANGE2561, Michael was paired opposite TopTen Supakorn in “Pit Babe The Series” and their subtle romance was endearing. They will be next reprising their roles in “Pit Babe S2” and avid fans are expecting a full-blown season in the sequel. Fingers crossed!
