Suffice to say, our newsroom is atypically busy these days!

Angel’s of America

Popular Korean actor Yoo Seung Ho will be playing Prior Walter, an AIDS patient, alongside Lee Tae Vin (Love For Love’s Sake), his same-sex lover, Louise Ironson in the theater adaptation of Tony Kirshner’s “Angel’s in America”. The play announced its opening on August 6 and revealed its spectacular casting lineup.

Tony Kirshner’s ‘Angels in America’, which premiered in 1991, is a masterpiece that unfolds the chaos and fear of the era ahead of the new millennium through a narrative intertwined with reality and fantasy. When it premiered on Broadway in 1993, it won the Pulitzer Prize & Tony Award. This work deals with a variety of social issues such as religion, race, sexual orientation, and politics, set in the United States in the 1980s. In particular, it aroused public sympathy through stories about discrimination and prejudice of social minorities, and 30 years after its publication, Even today, it is still evaluated as a work of modernity.

‘Angels in America’ deals in depth with the discrimination and confusion experienced by social minorities and asks fundamental questions about life, crossing reality and fantasy through the stories of five minorities with diverse identities. Three central stories unfold: Prior, an AIDS patient, and his same-sex lover, Louise; Joseph, a Mormon who struggles with his sexual identity; and his wife, Harper, a drug addict; and Roy Cohn, a far-right conservative and power-obsessed lawyer.

In 2024, ‘Angels in America’ will feature talented actors active in various fields such as plays, musicals, movies, and dramas, and many actors who have shown their charm and acting skills in various genres have been cast, raising audience expectations.

Yoo Seung-ho, who is trying his hand at the theater stage for the first time, has appeared in a variety of genres since his drama debut in 2000, including “Moonshine”, “Memorist” and “I’m Not a Robot”.

Fresh teasers released alongside the official poster of “His Man 3” as the show premieres today to high anticipation. Streaming on Wavve & IQIYI from 21st June, at 11 a.m.

Oxin Films in collaboration with Calton Studios releases official trailer for their upcoming Pinoy BL “Sky Valley”. Starring Tim Tuppil, James Lucero, AngelGrace Ameeica & Lienel Navidad. Set to premiere on July 20, 2024.

I Hear The Sunspot

Official trailer released for “I Hear The Sunspot”. TV Tokyo in collaboration with Drama Next is adapting the popular manga. Based on Fumino Yuki’s original work, ‘Hidamari Ga Kikoeru’ (I Hear the Sunspot), and its sequel, “I Hear the Sunspot: Theory of Happiness”, the show is set to premiere on July 3rd. The original story was serialized by Canna (Printemps Publishing), and was made into a live-action film in 2017. Nakazawa Motoki and Kobayashi Toranosuke will be starring in the lead roles of Sugihara Kohei and Sagawa Taiich.

Synopsis-

Kohei Sugihara, college student with hearing loss, and Taichi Sagawa, his ever-optimistic former classmate, met in a chance encounter that ignited an undeniable spark that would eventually blossom into love. Now it’s spring and as Kohei nears graduation, his search for a job begins. Meanwhile, Taichi finds himself in charge of someone new at work. Life is busier than ever, but all in all, things seem to be looking up for the pair. That is, until the sudden appearance of Ena, one of Kohei’s old flames.

Apple My Love Series

Kongthup Production unveiled the second leads of their upcoming Thai GL adaptation, “Apple My Love Series”. Based on the novel “Apple” (Apple : ถึงเธอ…ผู้เป็นที่รัก) by Chao Planoy (เจ้าปลาน้อย), Penpat Kairapee & Patthanarat Ketkaew join the cast as the secondary couple.

First Note of Love

A collaboration between GOL Studios and Star Hunter Entertainment, Gagaoolala releases the official trailer of “First Note Of Love”. Starring Charles Tu and Michael Chang, premieres in August on GagaOOLala.

Synopsis–

Neil is a singer-songwriter who has recently returned to Taiwan. Both talented and charming, he has everything he needs to become a professional singer, except one thing––the nerves to step onto a big stage. In an effort to get over his stage fright, Neil decides to start as a street performer to eventually work his way up. Hai is a loyal but timid fan of Neil’s. One late night, after seeing Neil’s performance, Hai gets on the last bus of the day and is surprised to see Neil get on, too. The bus brakes suddenly, and Hai finds himself in Neil’s arms. When Neil gets off the bus, Hai sees his guitar pick on the floor. And so, Hai and Neil’s lives cross paths as they begin to compose a musical movement of love.

South Korean ballad singer, K Will unveils the official teaser for the MV of his new song “No Song Can Express Me”. Starring popular South Korean actors Seo In Guk & Ahn Jae Hyun, who starred in the 2012 music video for the hit track “Please don’t”. The chemistry between the actors was an instant hit with netizens demanding the two should star in a full fledged BL drama.

Takara’s Treasure

Official trailer released as the upcoming adaptation “Takara’s Treasure” is set to premiere on 1st July. Based on the manga “Takara no Vidro” (タカラのびいどろ) by Suzumaru Minta (鈴丸みんた), the show stars Iwase Yoji & Konishi Eito in lead roles.

Synopsis-

Taishin has moved to Tokyo from his hometown of Fukuoka in order to reunite with Takara, a stranger who had consoled him in his grief the year prior. However, despite finally getting a chance to express his gratitude to Takara at college, he is given the cold shoulder! But Taishin, undeterred, decides to pursue Takara anyway, and Takara finds himself becoming more and more enchanted by Taishin’s straightforward and earnest gaze.

Anima Studios Ph releases the official trailer for “Marahuyo Project”. Directed by JP Habac (Gaya Sa Pelikula), the show stars Adrian Lindayag (The Boy Foretold by the Stars & Love Beneath the Stars) and Neo France Garcia in lead roles alongside supporting couple Noor Hooshmand & Yani Villarosa, AJ Sison & Ian Villa. Premieres this June 24.

This Love Doesn’t Have Long Beans

Official teaser released for the upcoming adaptation “This Love Doesn’t Have Long Beans”. Based on the web novel “No Beans and Love Me More” (รักนี้ไม่มีถั่วฝักยาว) by Ninepinta (นายพินต้า), the show is set to premiere on 5th July. Starring Pon Thanapon & Sailub Hemmawich in lead roles supporting couple, Garfield Pantach & Benz Atthanin.

Synopsis-

Model Plawan has been a pad kaprao—no long beans—enthusiast all his life. Offered a hefty sum, he’s hired to train at a well-known chef’s table restaurant under head chef Chef Oab. His secret mission is to make Chef Oab fall for him and and to become his successor. Unfortunately, he’s shaken by the harsh and stern-looking chef who smells like holy basil. Be On Cloud has unveiled the supporting characters, who will be joining Bible Wichapas & Jes Jespipat in their upcoming Original Series “4 Minutes”.

Jjay Patiphan will be starring as Win, Job Yosatorn as Den, Bas Asavapatr as Korn, Fuaiz Thanawat as Tonkla, Jet Jetsadakorn as Title, Mio Athens as Dome and Natty Nantanat as Fasai. Set to premiere on July 26 on VIU.
