Cherry Magic Anime

A movie version of “Cherry Magic Anime” featuring Adachi and Kurosawa’s journey, will be released in theaters nationwide on Friday, December 13, 2024. The teaser visual has been released. Scenes not depicted on the TV anime will be newly filmed.

Love Is Like a Poison

TBS Drama releases the visual posters for “Love Is Like A Poison”. Adapted from the novel “Doku Koi: Doku mo Sugireba Koi to Naru” (毒恋～毒もすぎれば恋となる～) Makino Keisuke (牧野圭祐), the show stars Hama Shogo & Hyodo Katsumi as main leads. Set to premiere on Netflix, starting 10th Sept.

Synopsis-

Shiba Ryoma, a genius lawyer, cleared the bar exam with the highest score while attending university and became the youngest co-partner at a major law firm. He is valued as a legal advisor to numerous major clients. One day, Shiba meets Haruto, a mysterious genius con artist, at a bar. Haruto invites Shiba, who is looking for a capable work partner, saying, “You can be my partner.” Buying Haruto’s talent for pretending to be someone else, Shiba decides to keep Haruto in his home. A life together with his secret partner begins. Shiba, who is new to romance, is gradually poisoned by Haruto, who is very sweet and devoted to his “owner” no matter what danger he encounters. Two people who are complete opposites become secret partners and solve troubles in a thrilling way. Haruto gradually begins to love Shiba’s sensitivity and clumsiness and is drawn to him. As a tsundere with no experience in love, Shiba is frustrated by his inability to express the feelings he gradually develops for Haruto. Eventually, the two will come face to face with great evil.

Some Love Starts with Mistakes

TV Tokyo’s short drama, “Some Love Starts with Mistakes” is currently streaming on the distribution app BUMP. Starring Usa Takuma (Kiss x Kiss x Kiss: Love ii Shower, 25 Ji Akasaka de, I Hear The Sunspot) and Imai Ryutaro in lead roles, all 29 episodes were released at once.

Synopsis-

This work is a Boys’ Love (BL) romance between Umi Mizumura, a clumsy and good-natured person who is unable to do anything well, and Chiaki Yukita, his twin brother’s boyfriend. Umi, who was kicked out of his home due to debt, receives a phone call from Riku, his younger brother who is on a business trip overseas, saying, “I’ll let you live in my house, and I’ll pay off all of your debts”. However, the condition is that he pretends to be Riku and breaks up with Chiaki. Umi and Chiaki start living together.

Love in the Air (Japan)

Shoma Nagumo (At 2500 in Akasaka) and Takuto Hamaya will star in the Japanese remake of popular Thai BL adaptation “Love in The Air”. They will be reprising the roles of Phayu & Rain. Alongside, WATWING’s Asahi Suzuki and 7ORDER’s Reo Nagatsuma will be reprising the roles of Prapai and Sky. The shows are being adapted from MAME’s novels, Love Storm and Love Sky. Premieres on 3rd November.

Fresh teaser released for upcoming Japanese adaptation, “Happy Of The End”. Starring Rei Sawamura from “Living With Him” and Yuuki Beppu. Based on Tanaka Ogeretsu’s manga of the same name. Set to premiere on September 2.

Synopsis-

Dazed and confused, Chihiro awakes on a pile of garbage with memories of wedding still fresh in his mind. When out of the blue a young man named Keito appears before him. Instantly, he then recalls the night he spent with this person. The booze! The hotel! The punch to his face!

Chihiro may not have a place to call home currently and Keito may not be a good person by any means, but maybe the two of them could be happy together.

Doctor’s Mine

Kongthup Production has announced that Mon Dechin Phaisanwan and Pak Varayu alongside Top Sumethee and Krismon Thanawat will be starring in their upcoming project “Doctor’s Mine”. The final couple was revealed to be has introduced its final couple—Gun Thanawat from (Two Worlds) and Arm Chaiyapat. Based on Mynt’s novels “Gown and Gear” and “Extern”, a turbulent but sweet love story between two extremes between medical and engineering students.

Meet Unexpectedly

New Chinese BL mini series “Meet Unexpectedly” premieres on 1st September with total of 12 episodes (5-10min each). Starring Zhou Yi and Ke Ke, the show follows the daily lives of a handsome hunk and his roommate—just friends, or is there something more beneath the surface?

Exclusive Love

LINE TV has announced their upcoming BL drama “Exclusive Love”. Starring Mao Qi Sheng (Parker) from “You Are Mine”, Zhang Jia Sheng, Xu Wei Ze, Pu Jing Heng, Sun Mai Jie, and Zheng Li Yu in lead roles. Slated for release in the first quarter of 2025.

Synopsis-

The story centers on Wang Zhan, a timid second-generation funeral director with dreams of becoming a singer, who struggles with the responsibility of taking over his family’s business. His life takes a dramatic turn when he meets Tang Duzhi, a disciplined and charismatic ace mortician who becomes his mentor.

Love it or hate it, “Kidnap Series” is definitely GMMTV’s most awaited show this year. With “My Love Mix Up TH” ending, “Kidnap” will be taking over the “FriGay” zone from September 6. Starring fan favorite Ohm Pawat opposite rookie actor, Leng Thanaphon; there are many hating this new combo already but quite a few are looking forward to this fresh pairing.

Let Free The Curse Of Taekwondo

Fresh snippet released for Hwang Da Seul’s upcoming project “Let Free The Curse Of Taekwondo”. Starring Kim Nurim, Lee Seon, and Jang Yeonwoo. Premieres in September.

Synopsis-

High school student Do Hoe lives with his father who runs a Taekwondo gym in a rural area. He despises the violent and brutal atmosphere of his home. One day, his cheerful and bright peer Ju Young, who dreams of going to college with a Taekwondo major, comes from Seoul. With Ju Young’s arrival, small and large joys begin to fill Do Hoe’s previously dark life. Official trailer released for “Jack and Joker”. Starring Yin Anan and War Wanarat in lead roles, the story focuses on a young man who becomes a debt collector after being deceived by a thief; only to meet him years later & helps him with a robbery. Premieres (September 9) on IQIYI.

Smells Like Green Spirit

MBS made an official announcement that live-action adaptation of Saburō Nagai’s “Smells Like Green Spirit” manga that will premiere on September 19. Towa Araki will be playing the main lead Futoshi Mishima.

Synopsis-

Mishima, a student at a school in the countryside, is bullied by his classmates. The reason is because he’s seemingly gay. In reality, Mishima does like guys so he doesn’t resist their bullying, and instead, finds solace in secretly cross-dressing. One day on the rooftop, Mishima finds the lipstick he’d lost before in the hands of Kirino, one of the bullies… and Kirino was about to put on the lipstick that Mishima used on his own lips. This is the story of young boys looking for a place they can really be themselves.
