Two different pairings with variant stories, you can really can’t decide whom to root for!
The only thing that caught my attention when Line TV started promoting this show was Parker Mao. We have already seen him in the 2023 recliner “You Are Mine”. Though the show didn’t make any waves and was quietly forgotten, fans would obviously remember Parker’s good looks. Here he continues with his hardheaded “Boss” act, only this time it extends to kidnapping and threats. The first few minutes of the pilot episode will make you wonder if you are watching a mafia romance with Parker prancing around and ordering his ten lackeys to kidnap a bewildered guy who was just live-streaming to his barely existing audiences. Makes you wonder what’s so special about the guy that he deserves to be kidnapped in a body bag. The situation is so hilarious, I failed to understand why Tang Du Zhi needed an army of ten men to kidnap Wang Zhan. The first two episodes leave you with more questions that will definitely keep you hooked!
The Cowardly Successor versus the Ace Funeral Director

I wasn’t exactly excited by the show’s premise which seems to be revolve around funeral etiquette. It is my first time watching a show focusing on this concept. So I wasn’t sure what to expect. Obviously the unwarranted kidnapping doesn’t help Tang Du Zhi’s (Parker Mao) dark, broody attitude. He works for Wang Zhan’s (Chang Chia Sheng) elder brother, Wang Ying Xiu (Mozy Yu). We get the impression that Wang Zhan is the only legitimate son in the family, so it could mean that his elder brother can’t inherit the business because he is an illegitimate child or either there is something wrong with his health. Wang Zhan wants nothing to do with the family business because he can’t stand the smell of blood or death. Poor guy is left with no option when he is carried back to his family home and his elder brother orders Tang Du Zhi to train Wang Zhan. One of the ace directors in their firm, Tang Du Zhi is utterly loyal to Wang Zhan’s brother and uses extremist measures to train Wang Zhan. However, underneath the tough exterior, we catch glimpses of Tang Du Zhi falling for Wang Zhan when they were in college. Wang Zhan most probably doesn’t remember him. I’m intrigued by their budding romance, so let’s see where they are headed!
Best Friends Syndrome Cliche or Nice

The second couple, Zhang Yi Qing (Hsv Wei Tse) and Tu Jing He (Pu Ching Heng) are Wang Zhan’s close friends. They are childhood friends and Tu Jing He’s seems to have a longtime crush on Zhang Yi Qing. Zhang Yi Qing is a wedding consultant while Tu Jing He works at a construction company, both having inherited their family business, unlike Wang Zhan. While the first episode gives the impression that Tu Jing He might be suffering from a one sided unrequited love, the second episode drops the bat and makes it clear that Zhang Yi Qing isn’t as unaffected as he seems. The actors have a cute, endearing chemistry; I’m looking forward to watching their love confession and relationship growth!
Is it a Worthwhile Watch

All the kidnapping hysterics in the first episode might seem off putting, but the actors have an interesting chemistry!
Parker Mao makes an impression as a stoic, funeral director who hides his affections well. It’s obvious that Tang Du Zhi cares deeply for Wang Zhan; they seem to share a history which seems to be forgotten. I’m digging their chemistry, so you can definitely look forward to watching their slow burn romance. As for Zhang Yi Qing & Tu Jing He, I have already fallen in love with their sweet, endearing romance, so here’s hoping they don’t disappoint!
