Thai BL industry is known to thrive on fan service and ships. We aren’t talking about cruises sailing in seas or oceans, but veritable pairings or couples who become a global phenomenon, given the popularity of the BL genre. While fans dock on the coast, bleed their live savings, time and energy worshiping their favorite “Ships”, everything is not as it seems. Some ships inevitably breakup and avid fans are left heartbroken. Today’s feature includes such hot pairings and where their future is headed to!

Singto Prachaya & Krist Perawat

The pioneers of the Thai BL industry, Singto Prachaya & Krist Perawat were first paired together in the classical adaptation of “SOTUS”. In a age and time, when the BL genre was slowly evolving and didn’t have much market trends, SingtoKrist rewrote history. The “Enemies to Lover’s” trope featured them in two back-to-back hits where their heartfelt chemistry was much appreciated. They become global scions and GMMTV’s much privileged hottest pairing in existence. They were a hit pairing until Singto left GMMTV in 2021.

While working as a freelancer, Singto was paired opposite Tae Dravid in “Paint with Love” and starred alongside Fluke Natouch in “Shadow”. After the classic pairing collapsed, Krist was paired opposite Gawin Caskey in “Be My Favorite” in 2023. Although both actors had good chemistry with their new onscreen partners, fans missed the old day magic. Their prayers were heard when Singto returned to the GMMTV camp in 2024. SingtoKrist were once again paired together in the upcoming office romance “The Ex-Morning” and it is obviously one of the most anticipated releases in the year!

Perth Tanapon & Santa Pongsapak

Following into the footsteps of SingtoKrist, another couple that led the BL awakening were Perth Tanapon and Saint Suppapong. Paired as the main couple in the 2018 adaptation “Love by Chance”, their phenomenal chemistry charted new territories, and they were paired again in “ReminderS”. Avid fans were gobsmacked by their kissing scenes which were quite a novelty in those days when the genre was slowly gaining taciturn. Unfortunately, the ship sank and fans were left devastated. Perth later left his management at Attractor on July 13th, 2020 and on April 4th, 2022, he was announced as a GMMTV artist. He was first paired opposite Chimon Wachirawit in the 2022 hit “Never Let Me Go”. Fans appreciated their chemistry and as such, they were officially paired together as the lead couple in the 2023 teenage love story “Dangerous Romance”.

Their popularity grew, and they were once again paired together in the 2024 adaptation “Perfect 10 Liners”. Unfortunately due to health concerns, Chimon had to bow out of the project and their pairing as well. GMMTV next paired him opposite their recruit, Santa Pongsapak.

Perth & Santa quickly grew popular because of their refreshing chemistry. Perth’s bold attitude pairs well with Santa’s childlike innocence. Perth might be third time lucky as they have been paired in the upcoming breezy romance “Love You Teacher”.

Joong Archen & Dunk Natachai

Adapted from the novel series “Moon Courting Moon” (เดือนเกี้ยวเดือน) by Chiffon_cake, “2moons” is the first adaptation in the Thai industry to have a remake. Joong Archen was first introduced to the BL world through this remake. Fresh faced, Joong had just moved from Turkey to Thailand to pursue his acting career. Working under Motive Village, Joong debuted opposite Nine Kornchid. For the next two years or so, J9 became a celebrity couple. They had a cult based fanbase who shipped them endlessly and their pairing was the most popular one amongst those from “2moons2”. Good times come to end, and the pairing was shortlived, as Nine moved to China and debuted as a member of the International boy group Into1 after competing on “Produce Camp 2021” (创造营2021).

Joong later became an artist under GMMTV since September 2021 where he was paired opposite his new onscreen partner, Dunk Natachai in “Star and Sky: Star in My Mind”. Their fresh pairing made waves, and they were next paired in the adaptation “Hidden Agenda”. Their popularity keeps soaring and JoongDunk are the new hype couple at the GMMTV camp. They are currently so famous that GMMTV has been rolling out adaptations for them every year. They were recently seen in the hit “The Heart Killers” where they starred alongside FirstKhao. JoongDunk are poised to star in the upcoming drama “Dare You to Death” and their chemistry is off-the-charts, so expect their camaraderie to set new bars with this crime thriller!

Ohm Thitiwat & Fluke Jeeratch

A reincarnation saga that won hearts and turned the lead pair into a global sensation, “Until We Meet Again” was a once in a lifetime opportunity. Introduced as the lead pairing, Ohm Thitiwat & Fluke Natouch became a fan favorite because of their sweet chemistry. Their dynamics was much celebrated, and they starred in recurrent projects like “Close Friend” and “Close Friend S2”. Their popularity grew by leaps and bounds as they continued starring in upcoming projects like “Oh! My Sunshine Night”, “Between Us” and “609 Bedtime Story”. Unfortunately, their pairing collapsed in 2023, as they went their separate ways. Thereupon, Ohm was first paired opposite in the 2023 miniseries “Guide Kantapon”. Ohm was recently recruited by GMMTV and has been paired opposite Fluke Jeeratch in their upcoming romcom “My Romance Scammer”. Will their chemistry work? That’s yet to be seen!

Zee Pruk & NuNew Chawarin

After a forming a hugely successful pairing with Perth Tanapon, Saint Suppapong was next paired opposite Zee Pruk in the 2020 sleeper hit “Why R U?”. Shot during the Covid-19 times, the show became an instant hit because of the synergy that Saint & Zee shared. They quickly became popular and fans truly believed that Saint had found his new permanent onscreen partner. Unfortunately, the pairing didn’t last for long, and they were separated before long. Later, Zee Pruk was paired opposite the rookie actor NuNew Chawarin who made his debut in the adaptation “Cutie Pie”. Their hot onscreen chemistry set the screens on fire and ZeeNunew quickly become the new rage. In the period of the next three years, they rose to global fame with speculations surrounding their relationship. They are currently starring in the on-air regal romance “The Next Prince” which is already topping the charts. They are also a part of Domundi TV’s 2025 lineup and will be starring in their upcoming musical romance “HugELhee the Musical”.

Billy Patchanon & Babe Tanatat

Billy was first paired opposite Seng Wichai in Idol Factory’s debut BL adaptation “Secret Crush on You”. Their sensual chemistry was much appreciated and briefly they were quite popular because of their offscreen interactions as well. Like most unfortunate onscreen couples, their camaraderie didn’t last for long. Billy was next paired opposite rookie actor in the 2023 fantasy adaptation “The Sign”. A big scale project “The Sign” combines local folk lore with thriller elements. Billy and Babe stuck gold with this project as their explosive chemistry set the screen on fire. They are literally one of the hottest BL couples in the Thai industry. Their ongoing reality show “Mumu Tofu Story” is a testament to their success. Fans love them so much, that they love watching their offscreen interactions. The much beloved couple will be starring again in the upcoming historical adaptation “Interminable”.

Jimmy Karn & Ohm Thanakrit

Jimmy Karn and Tommy Sittichok became a household name after starring as the supporting couple in the 2020 hit “Why R U?”. Their chemistry was topnotch and it paved way for their next show “Close Friend”. Despite these successes, Jimmy wasn’t paired opposite Tommy in their next project “Peach of Time” which was a Thai-Korean collaboration. This should have hinted that the pairing was going to breakup soon and it did. Citing health concerns, Tommy decided to opt out of their pairing and Jimmy was considerably cooperative. Even though, they are no longer an onscreen couple, working under the same management, Jimmy & Tommy are still on good terms (unlike most other couples who distanced themselves after their breakup). Jimmy was next paired opposite his new onscreen partner, Ohm Thanakrit and their chemistry is setting new bars of tenacity. They will be next working together in the 2025 fantasy romance “Magic Lover”
