Random Breakups and New Ships Sailing- Part II

Random breakups don’t always lead to heartbreak, at times they can lead to new relationships and ships, that is if you are a part of the BL industry. We got some budding pairings in today’s feature, clandestinely famous or infamous; you can take it either ways. But they were/are immensely popular, and we couldn’t help compare their ratings. Let’s get to business, because we have juicy details to share!

Bas Hatsanat & Maxky Ratchata

Probably one of the most loved characters in the “2moons” universe, Bas Hatsanat quickly became popular as Wayo. His chemistry with then co-star God Itthipat was celebrated and much appreciated. Unfortunately, the pairing didn’t last as long as his friendship with the other co-stars did. Alongside his other four co-stars, in February 2018, he made his debut as a vocalist in the boy group SBFIVE (เอสบีไฟฟ์) which disbanded in 2020. From 2021 to 2022, he was paired opposite Dun Romchumpa in the school setting drama “Gen Y”. Again, their chemistry was much appreciated. But the pairing didn’t last for long.

In 2023, Bas left Star Hunter Entertainment and signed as talent under Studio Wabi Sabi. He was recently paired opposite Maxky Ratchata in the 2024 adaptation “Fourever You Project” and they quickly became a household name. Their popularity stems from the easy camaraderie they share, and they have already been signed for a new upcoming project, given how famous they are now!

Earth Katsamonnat & Pond Ponlawit

Earth first rose to fame when he was paired opposite Kao Noppakao in the 2017 reincarnation saga “Until We Meet Again”. Fans were crazy about their pairing and KaoEarth shared a deep affection for each other which was obvious from their offscreen interactions. The pairing didn’t last for long though and Earth was next paired with Santa Pongsapak in “7 Project”. The mini series was like a test drive to project their chemistry and it worked. Fans loved watching them together and as such, Santa & Earth were next paired together in the 2022 adaptation “My Only 12%”.

Fans were immediately swept in their world and SantaEarth became the next iconic couple. Sadly, this pairing didn’t last for long as Santa migrated to GMMTV and is now working alongside Perth Tanapon. Earth was next cast opposite Pond Ponlawit in the “Fourever You Project”. They are a new talk of the town, flavoured yet refreshing. May this pairing for long, given the fact that Pond will be starring opposite Peterpan Tadsapon in the upcoming time travel romance “Reset The Series”. Will couple do you find more intriguing?

Saint Suppapong & Poom Nuttapart

In an era when the BL wasn’t that popular, two actors made this genre immensely popular, carrying the burden on their shoulders. They were Saint Suppapong & Perth Tanapon. Paired in the 2018 adaptation “Love by Chance”, Perth & Saint quickly rose to fame because of their sensual chemistry. Their kissing scenes showcased their natural camaraderie and even offscreen, they were affectionate. They were paired again in “ReminderS” and everything was fine until the coupling broke off.

Later, Saint was paired opposite his new co-star Zee Pruk in the Covid- time hit “Why R U?”. Even though the entire shoot happened in the midst of strict Covid restrictions, ZeeSaint quickly became the new flavor of the season. Unfortunately, the pairing didn’t last and Saint vanished from the BL scene for the past few years, instead choosing to act as a producer. Until, he chose to act in a BL again and was paired opposite Poom Nuttapart in the recently premiered “My Sweetheart Jom”. The first episode showcased their refreshing, candid chemistry, and we are already in love with the cute pairing!

Up Poompat & Poom Phuripan

Up first rose to fame after starring as the main lead in the 2021 hit “Lovely Writer”. Paired opposite Kao Noppakao, their pairing quickly became popular and the show’s ratings rose with each episode. Unfortunately, good times don’t last for long and the pairing fell through. For a brief period, Up choose to step away from the BL arena and was focused on managing his own production house.

Until he chose to return as the main lead in the 2024 hit “My Stand-In”. Paired opposite his new co-star Poom Phuripan, this couple quickly rose to fame because of their sensuous chemistry and the show’s ratings skyrocketed, further cementing their fanbase. Up and Poom will be next starring in the upcoming adaptation “Love of Silom”.

Ja Phachara- Tae Weerapat & First Chalongrat- Ohm Sarit

Ja and First were introduced as a fresh pairing in the 2020 sequel “TharnType Season 2: 7 Years of Love”. They managed to grab attention from the main couple and as a result, they became the lead couple in the next adaptation “Don’t Say No”. They also starred together in the first season of the mini- series “Close Friend”. Since then, they became a hit couple, and starred in recurring projects “Remember Me” and “Be Mine SuperStar”. Like most couples, the pairing fell apart, and they went different ways. Following their separation, Ja is now set to star opposite Tae Weerapat in the upcoming adaptation “The Love Never Sets”. The new pairing is already making waves and the anticipation for its premiere is high.

In turn, First has been paired opposite rookie actor, Ohm Sarit. Despite the announcement of their pairing, any news about their new projects is still under wrap.

Smart Chisanupong & Boom Raveewit

Smart Chisanupong and James Pongsapak were introduced as a supporting couple in the 2021 hit “Don’t Say No”. Even though they had an insignificant role, Smart and James quickly became fan favorites, with fans demanding that the next sequel should star them as main leads. While everyone was hoping, that we would get to see this new pairing in the next project, nothing happened and soon, the excitement surrounding their chemistry was forgotten.

Boom first entered the BL world as the main lead in the supernatural drama “My Dream”. His role was long forgotten until Boom starred in the 2023 adaptation “Chains of Heart”. He won hearts with his daredevil portrayal and ultimately he had arrived. Yet, Boom had to wait for another two years before landing his breakthrough in “Top Form The Series”. Paired opposite Smart in this rustic remake, their natural chemistry and exuberant energy has turned them into a global phenomenon!

William Jakrapatr & Est Supha

Est Supha joined the BL ranks after starring in the 2020 sequel “Love by Chance Season 2: A Chance to Love”. He was paired opposite Meen Nichakoon. The characters they portrayed had a toxic relationship and yet their chemistry left a deep impression. Est didn’t play any significant roles until he was announced as the main lead in the 2024 musical “ThamePo Heart That Skips a Beat”.

From the pilot episode itself, William and Est displayed a riveting chemistry that was unheard-of before. With each episode, their fandom grew, and they became GMMTV’s heartthrob couple. With world tours planned and regular events each month, they are the most popular couple scouted by the Thai media giant and their offscreen interactions draw worldwide speculations from fans across the globe!

Net Siraphop & JJ Radchapon

Net and James Supamongkon were officially introduced as the main couple in the 2023 adaptation “Bed Friend The Series”. Their hot and explosive chemistry became the talk of the town as they were reprised in their roles in “The Middleman’s Love”. Sadly, the pairing fell through when James decided to separate because he wanted to develop his music career. There was a hunt for Net’s next partner as Net and James were supposed to star in Domundi TV’s upcoming historical “Love Upon a Time”. Surprisingly, he was paired opposite his younger brother’s close friend, JJ Radchapon. They are currently starring in the regal romance “The Next Prince” and fans are anticipating an interesting chemistry based on the close camaraderie they share.

We will be back with a new feature next week, keep watching this space!
