“Sparks Camp Season Three” hit their finale episode last night, but I still want MORE!
Last week, when the preview foreshadowed the eminent finale episode, I was left aghast. I had been enjoying the show so much, that I totally forgot it amounts to 8 episodes. This season, we saw lot more tears, heart-wrenching stories, some disappointments yet reassurances as well. The biggest takeaway from this season was the unachievable feat of matching not one, but four couples. “Sparks Camp S3” became the first queer dating show in the history of Asian subcontinent to witness this glory. The pairings were pretty obvious since the last two weeks, but finales have unspoken precedents. So, I watched last night’s episode with bated breath, hoping that my favorites would click. Fortunately, they did; even the ones that I didn’t believe would stick together. Surprisingly enough, Season Three saw a mature gang looking for love prospects that match their wavelengths. For some, it was love at first sight; others took time to understand their better halves. But in the end, when your heart is set, love is an unstoppable force!
Before embarking on this journey, let’s get reacquainted with the campers!

My Favorites, Joer & Edward
Like Joer said, I did want to toss Edward when he shocked everyone by saying that Joer wasn’t his Spark. But then, Edward is playful & mischievous like that. I don’t think Joer would have fallen for him if Edward was a serious guy. They are complete opposites, Joer is daring but also stoic & reserved as against Edward who is literally the “Sunshine”. No matter what happens, he always has a smile on his face. From their first date, I have been cheering for them. I have watched them grow closer & understand each other better. They were my favorites, and I’m so glad that found each other!
Harold & Aaron
If you let me, I might adopt Harold. He was my favorite contestant this season, nevertheless the pairing. Harold & Aaron are the “Love at First Sight” couple. Since Day One, they stuck together and never even considered anyone else. At times, they literally looked like twins. More often, the contestants try to reconnect with others even if they find their spark. But not Harold & Aaron, they were both decisive about their feelings for each other and never looked anywhere else. They are actually the comic duo. Aaron understands Harold’s silliness more than anyone else and accepts him the way he is. They were obviously the season favorites, and they walked out hand in hand. With Harold, I felt like a mother watching her son finally find the love of his life. I wanted to cry in happiness!
Khali & Andrew
My troubled couple, their journey hit more roadblocks than my old bike does. Starting with their first date, Khali & Andrew seemed like a mature, amiable couple. But somewhere down the line, Andrew wanted to explore his options and that made Khali jealous. They had arguments and disagreements, issues piled on. Frankly, until the last episode, I wasn’t sure if they would get back together since Andrew asked for a break in the penultimate episode. And then the twist happened. Khali choose Andrew as his Spark and apologized for his behavior. Andrew surprised him by extending his hand in return, and they decided to reset their journey. That was unexpected, and I’m truly glad that they decided to move past their issues. They didn’t have a complete fallout and are ready to work on their problems. Aren’t most relationships like that?
Ants & Kim
Ants and Kim are more like the nonchalant couple. They didn’t strike from day one; they had minimal conversations except for that one date in the second half of the season. But no matter where they were seated, Kim would always be watching Ants. I really don’t know when they started developing feelings for each other, but somewhere down the line, they fell in love. It might be because their personalities gel well. Both are reserved types, but Kim is kind of more straightforward. I wasn’t invested in this couple, but I’m glad they found their mutual spark!
Final Thoughts
Some shows are daring and provocative while sharing life shattering experiences, “Sparks Camp S3” is one such show!
Like I mentioned beforehand, I was actually aghast that the show is ending so soon. But then all good things come to end, and you can only anticipate the launch of the next season in 2026. The format was pretty much similar to the earlier seasons, I liked that (I dislike changes). The contestants were more lively, energetic but also thought-provoking. They had their own stories & journeys to share, but that doesn’t mean they are weak. They are strong, beautiful and stand taller than others. This season had a more mature approach because the contestants were so. They were clearly set on their love interests, so there weren’t any ugly disputes or jealous tirades in sights. Overall, S3 was one of the best scripted versions of Sparks Camp!
