People have spoken and Awards are being handed, to the rightful owners. With the sudden rise in BL productions, audiences are no longer hindered by availability. Either, the shows are streaming on YouTube or international platforms. So, what sets them apart? Quality is invariably better than quantity. The choices weren’t surprising, but pretty consistent.

10) Goddess Bless You From Death

Horror BLs are on the rise, but they need to be tactful and flavored. Also, adding gothic elements without overstretching their extent is important. Starring Pavel Naret & Pooh Krittin in lead roles, the drama showcases a serial murder case that involves occult culture, supernatural forces and sorcery. The storytelling is sublime, and the leads have an incomparable chemistry. Enjoy the ride with ghostly fervor!

9) Me and Thee

Comedy is a genre that cannot be handled easily. The comic timing should be right, the actor’s attempts should make the actor’s laugh and keep them entertained. Starring Pond Naravit and Phuwin Tangsakyuen, the show expands into a mafia universe ruled by “Thee” Theerakit Kian Lee. The guy is anticlimactic, melodramatic and over-the-top. His budding romance with the photographer Peach is sweet and endearing.

8) GelBoys

Director Boss Naruebet Kuno returns with a lovelorn song to shake the very conundrum of teenage romance with gel polish dynamics. Shot in natural lighting with mobile phone camera, the story showcases the raw emotions and affections of teenagers experiencing love for the first time. It is messy, chaotic, colorful and yet pure escapism!

7) My Stubborn

Probably the hottest affair in 2025, “My Stubborn” rewrote history with its collection of NC scenes. Main leads, Boat Yongyut & Oat Pasakorn set the screen on fire and the flames couldn’t be doused with liters of water. Their combination is combustible, and the show has won accolades squarely based on their romance. Sorn & Jun are unlike most BL couples, maybe that’s what makes them different and unique!

6) Kill to Love

A narcissist Emperor and his fallen prince, the story seems straight out of wuxia land. Starring Zhang Zhe Xu & Mi Jin in lead roles, the storytelling has the unmistakable mark of a classic romance, with a typical historical flare. Everything from the costumes to the settings scream exuberant, which adds to the addicted romance between the main leads. This was one of the best written adaptations in 2025!

5) ABO Desire

An unassuming romance between two powerful protagonists from the Omegaverse, “ABO Desire” is the first proper interpretation of the fantasy world filled with awe & mysticism. Starring Huang Xing & Qiu Ding Jie in lead roles, the show weaves a vivid tale of deception and psychological manipulation. As Hua Yong, Huang Xing is clever, manipulative yet hauntingly beautiful. Qiu Ding Jie does his part well as an Alpha who ends up falling for his obsessive Enigma.

4) Revenged Love

A revenge saga with a diabolical, comic twist; “Revenged Love” made waves across the globe with its bold content & daring casting. Starring Zi Yu & Tian Xu Ning in lead roles, the show trespasses into the “Enemies to Lover’s” territory with an uncanny fervor. The protagonists fall for each other while playing mind games and end up together, deeply in love forever. A truly altruistic experience!

3) Khemjira The Series

Possibly the most popular horror BL in existence, “Khemjira The Series” was a telltale experience that lives with you, beyond expectations. The minute detailing to spirit possession, past life experiences and supernatural elements combined with the solemn romance lends a subtle favor to this horror mystique. The main leads, Namping Napatsakorn & Keng Harit live & breathe air into their characters, enlivening them!

2) My Golden Blood

A fantasy romance with a vampire twist, “My Golden Blood” was fearless, and audacious. Drawing inspiration from lucid vampire tales, the show held on its own; given the meticulous storytelling and amazing chemistry between main leads, Joss Way-ar Sangngern & Gawin Caskey. The settings and cinematography gave a dreamy touch to this stunning love story that will be forever etched in our hearts & minds!

1) Burnout Syndrome

Anucha Boonyawatana spins another fantastical tale with her favorites-Gun Atthaphan & Off Jumpol. Adding Dew Jirawat to this mix only enhances the taste & feel of the storytelling that concocts an impossible love triangle between the main leads. Off as Ko is daring, manipulative and evil. Gun as Jira is straightforward, bold and artistic. Dew embodies Pheem’s confusion and charm. Definitely one of the best written scripts in recent times!
