A chaotic melodramatic romcom that stays with you even after the curtain fall!
When I first started with this drama, I wasn’t expecting much. I must accept that I’m not a huge fan of Pond Naravit & Phuwin Tangsakyuen. I do enjoy their shows with a dash of promised sarcasm, but I never had this catalytic need to idolize them. With “Me and Thee”, both Pond & Phuwin break out of their preconceived molds. As mentioned in my earlier review, Pond has always portrayed silent, mature characters, while Phuwin would strike chaos with his mischievous roleplay. Somehow, they always match each other’s energy and the synergy is perfect, almost in harmony. “Me and Thee” destroys that conundrum as Pond & Phuwin are thrown into roles that are unimaginably variant and intriguing. I have so much to say, I’m not sure this article will suffice to express my love for this show!
Theerakit Kian Lee- The Man & The Mystery Behind Him

Find yourself a man who looks at you, the way Thee looks at Peach!
It is stars, sparkle and unicorn rainbows, whenever Thee and Peach are together. Theerakit Kian Lee aka Thee aka P’Kian is the most dramatic man in existence. As a reformed mafia boss, he is ridiculously out of touch in reality, wealthy and erratic. Yet he is handsome, charming and, to a certain extent, mesmerizing (if you are LookPeach). Bought up on a stable diet of Thai lakorns, the man puts most men to shame by continously watching the shows that his mother starred in. Lonely in his hometown, Thee thrives on soapy romances while missing his family who are based in Hong Kong. His world is turned upside down when he unexpectedly meets Peach, a man who isn’t afraid to speak his mind in front of him. While others tremble in front of Thee, Peach says exactly what he thinks about Thee’s overzealous gestures and dramatic overtures. From there, begins the fairy tale romance where our Prince tries everything and anything to win over Peach’s heart. Thee is an enigmatic figure, so it takes a lot of time for him to match his pace with Peach. But he does it willingly. There is certain honesty and sincerity in his approach; he always seeks consent before kissing Peach and that in itself is such a respectful approach, you can’t help but swoon.
Peachayarat Janekit- The Soul of this Show

The first thing that you notice about Phuwin is his careful approach towards this character. Peach is calm, composed and responsible. He values his work above all, adores his sister and quickly adapts to the situation whenever the need arises. He has a steadfast approach to most things, and although he speaks his mind fearlessly, he is always respectful of other’s feelings and boundaries. Peach is literally the very opposite of Thee’s chaotic personality. He is grounded, intelligent and soft-spoken. If there is one person who could stand up to Thee and put a stop to his overdramatic behavior, it is Peach. Thee has a flair for theatrics, and although Peach does gently reproach him, he also enjoys Thee’s exaggerated declarations of love. Somehow, he balances Thee’s chaotic outbursts, while teaching how to act normally. Peach doesn’t see Thee’s wealth but his vulnerability and loneliness. That is priceless and Thee always gravitates towards him, because Peach gives him a sense of belonging and familiarity.
The Chemistry, The Romance, The Soulmates

The romance is absolutely swoon worthy. Oddly enough, both Thee and Peach have their own fears to tackle. As a wealthy heir, Thee was raised with strict rules and regulations. No one in the family is allowed to love, because relationships make them weaker. As Thee slowly falls in love with Peach, he first had to break out of this old mindset and then come to terms with his feelings. And as he does, Thee decides that Peach is worth breaking all rules that have been binding him for a long time. On the other hand, Peach has his own burdens. Orphaned at a young age, he had to take care of his younger sister while making sure that they weren’t adopted separately. He grew up becoming responsible at an early age and despite the hardships he faced, he never had any qualms. He does have his reservations initially, but once he decides to date Thee, there is nothing stopping him. He accepts the dangerous lifestyle that Thee leads and decides to stand beside him, against all odds. Thee and Peach complete each other in ways unknown. Peach brings peace to Thee’s life and Thee in turn, does everything to make Peach smile.
My Dear Couple Are Back, Albeit With A Twist

No matter where they are, William Jakrapatr and Est Supha’s romance is addictive. Even though Rome is only there for a few episodes, he makes his presence known. Rome is slightly less dramatic than his brother. Mok on the other hand, is loyal, hardworking and dedicated to his dramatic boss. Whatever Thee wants, Mok makes it happen while rolling his eyes at his boss’s hilarious antics. Beyond their boss-employee relationship, Thee and Mok have been close friends since childhood and Thee’s safety is of the utmost importance to Mok. As Thee starts falling for Peach, Mok treats him with the same respect and loyalty. Rome & Mok play a tug of war from the time, Rome makes his enigmatic appearance. William’s pop idol image doesn’t dim and his chemistry with Est doesn’t diminish in the slightest. They are a class apart when it comes to soulful romance!
Final Impressions

Director X Nuttapong Mongkolsawas deserves a special mention for skillfully adapting this series!
An adaptation isn’t an easy affair, especially when the original work is hugely popular. You have to cater to local audiences who might be well acquainted with the novel while adapting to international fans as well. The storytelling for “Me and Thee” is an exquisite affair; the costumes & settings mimic Thee’s extravagant lifestyle and exhibit the grandeur of his wealth. The opulence matches his theatrical approach to life. Pond has delivered an affliction for comedy; I never knew he had it in him. Phuwin matches Pond’s zeal with his calm and composed demeanor. This is one of those classics that remains with you for a long, long time, etched in your memories forever!
