Some new and innovative, others old yet unique in their consistency. While most BL couples on this list are well known and their chemistry is a hit, we had a few new entrants adding to the glory of this fast-evolving genre. People have spoken and Awards are being handed, to the rightful owners. With the sudden rise in BL productions, audiences are no longer hindered by availability. Either, the shows are streaming on YouTube or international platforms. So, what sets them apart? Quality is invariably better than quantity. The choices weren’t surprising, but pretty consistent.

Happy New Year, everyone, and with the new year, big changes are afoot. Next week will be my last article and live for The BL Xpress. It’s been a joy writing for them this year, and I wish them well in all their future endeavors.

While BL as a genre evolves, so do the consistent pairings. Fan service remains an inevitable choice, there are multiple fandoms with their own favorites (even I belong to one such fandom). BL Week in Review
There’s always so much happening in the world of BL, particularly Thai BL, that it’s hard to keep up. Nevertheless, one event that had X abuzz this weekend was Starlympics, GMMTV’s major sporting event and concert. I saw one post saying that over 100 artists performed, which is crazy. I don’t know how they jam-packed it into one day, but they did! There are plenty of fancams on YouTube and X, so be sure to check them out.
Top Ten BL Dramas- My Personal Favorites (2025)
It has been excruciating year, in terms of BL production. The Asian subcontinent is churning shows & movies at a speed that is incomprehensible. It could be attributed to the fact that Thailand as the largest producer of queer content has found the liberty to legalize same-sex marriage. It was difficult to choose a select few for this list; I had to let go of quite a few shows to compile this feature. But here we are, so enjoy the feast!

First, I found that “Love at First Spike”, a Filipino queer series, is currently available on YouTube. Be sure to check it out. I was curious enough that I watched episode 1 on the iWantTFC app while it was airing, and it had a great start.
BL Week in Review
This week was crazy with a capital C. I started my yearly countdown, and let me tell you, it has been a bit intense on the social media front. The two hashtags are #BLFavs2025 and #BL2025Wrapped. Both are super fun, and I’m so glad I can contribute something to the community. That being said, this article is shorter than usual.
Recent Comedy BL That You Shouldn’t Miss!
Comedy BLs are rare gems that are hard to find. To get the comic timing right is a skill that many actors can’t accomplish. So, this genre is barely surviving in the BL industry. But that doesn’t mean, we don’t have good shows that are lighthearted & have an irresistible comedic flair!
