“Crazy Handsome Rich” Series Review (Ep.3 to 6)

This was a tough series to watch due to the dreadful dubbing, but I held out and was pleasantly surprised with how cute and funny it was. The actors are amazing, it’s just that they were dealt with a bad scripts and direction. Frank Thanatsaran looked awful with the fake wig. With this kind of talent on hands, I was disappointed in the overall ambience of the show.

In the later episodes, we see the tension escalate between Inn (Ellfa Weeravich) and Luv (Frank) as Inn comes to work as the gardener. He tries to confess his feelings for Luv subtly. Luv, however, only thinks of Inn as a friend/brother. Inn overhears Luv talking to Thep that Inn is working at the mansion because he likes him and wants him close. Obviously, it is a lie, as Luv was just trying to divert attention. We also get introduced to some rather odd and unusual characters, the “true heir” Thein (Mon Varakorn) who seems to be handicapped and, as such, in need of a nurse to help him. As he makes a dramatic entry, Thein explains how he is the rightful and only heir to the family fortune.

As the story progresses (through some hilarious, yet unwanted, twists & turns), we learn that Thein is not the rightful heir; a few other shocking revelations are thrown in. They might seem confusing and yet once told, they make more sense as the series concludes. We also have some unsavory characters wanting to kill the “true” heir. So they can get their hands on the money as only the “true” heir has the right to the family fortune. We learn what happened to Lady Subsinpermpoonmahasan and why she ran away all those years ago. This eventually leads to the rightful heir being kidnapped as he rescued by Thad (Lee Long Shi).

Who is the rightful heir? Do Luv and Thad end up together? Does the key fit into the lock which the three brothers wear on their necklaces? Or was the fortune teller just plain lying?

The acting in this show was not the best, but I did watch the full series. The actors did their best to raise the bar but alas, the awful dubbing ruins everything. I know it wasn’t easy to watch, but I did enjoy this crazy, bizarre, and very funny series despite the bad sound effects. The finale hints at the possibility of a sequel. That would be nice, but I’m hoping they skip the dubbing. Also, no wigs for Frank. He still looks cute, but the wig was bad. Overall, I liked it. However, I would not recommend it for a rewatch unless they release the episodes without dubbing.
