We are heading into this week anticipating the GMMTV 2024 Lineup. Whilst everyone is excited about the same, let’s do a quick rewind about the news updates from last week. Steering past them, so we can concentrate later on the “GMMTV Exclusive”.

Spirit Reborn Series

The official posters and trailer for the upcoming horror fantasy “Spirit Reborn Series” have been released. Starring Chap Suppacheep (The Tuxedo) and rookie actor Peipei Krit in the lead roles, the drama is adapted from the novel ‘Khemjira Must Survive’ by Cali. The supporting cast includes Rang Jirakith, Bom Panupong, Nucksueb Thansakul and Kutto Natthakit. The trailer sure gives titillating vibes. Check it out!

Synopsis-

Khem is born into a cursed family. Supposedly, a daughter born into the family would be safe. However, a son would die before he’d reached the age of twenty. Khem’s mother cleverly gives him a girl’s name, Khemjira, which means “forever safe.” Khem believes that until his nineteenth birthday.

7 Days Before Valentine

Adapted from the novel “7 Days Before Valentine” (7 วันก่อนวาเลนไทน์) by Patrick Rangsimant (อุเทน บุญอรณะ) and helmed by director Tu Punnasak Sukee (180 Degree The Series), this show is one of the most anticipated releases this year. Starring Jet Somjet (Why You… Y Me?), Atom Nathaphop and Thank Ekdanai in the lead roles of Kyu, Sunshine and Rain; the drama has 10 episodes and will premiere on November 22, 2023, on One31. The drama will air every Saturday at 10:30 PM (GMT+7). International platform not yet announced.

Synopsis-

When you want your old love again, but fate sends you a reaper instead. All he can do for you is kill people. It is your job to choose who will be erased from this realm of exist8ence. Who is the real obstacle to your true love? And will death really bring your love back?

Bump Up Business

Nine and Mil, members of the South Korean boy band ‘Only One of’ will be playing the lead couple in the upcoming Korean BL “Bump Up Business”. Alongside their bandmates, Yoojung, KB, Junji & Rie will also be playing prominent roles in the drama. Emotion Studio recently released the official poster and trailer along with some exciting stills from the show.

Synopsis-

The story revolves around fifth-year trainee and soon-to-debut idol Eden and JiHoon, a celebrity from the same agency, and the love story between these two who are not good at expressing what they truly feel.

Perfect Propose

Fuji TV (The Novelist, Mood Indigo and Playback) have announced their next big project. Adapted from Mayo Tsurakame’s manga of the same name, “Perfect Propose” will be starring Shunya Kaneko (Ultraman Trigger) and Kota Nomura in the lead roles of Hirokuni Watari and Kai Fukaya. Tadaaki Horai, who was previously involved in the production of the live-action adaptation of “My Love Mix-Up!” will be joining hands with Takeshi Miyamoto, who was the scriptwriter for “Old Fashion Cupcake.” The show will reportedly have six episodes and air in 2024.

Synopsis-

Hiro’s so stressed out at work that he can barely have proper meals or get some well-earned sleep. When he passes out on the sidewalk after yet another stressful day, an unfamiliar face calls out to him – apparently, they once promised to marry each other? What’s Kai Fukaya’s deal, and why is he so insistent on assuming the role of Hiro’s fiancé?

1000 Years Old

After a three year long hiatus, Shane Nutchapol (My Engineer The Series) will be starring in a new BL Drama as the main lead, Phan. Produced by Feel Good Bangkok, the show is a fantasy romance between a vampire and a human being. Rookie actor Opal Kritsapatorn will be starring alongside Shane as Yo. Directed by Champ Weerachit (2gether The Series, Kiss Me Again, I Will Knock You); the drama is expected to air next year.

Shadow

The supernatural thriller, “Shadow” is set to premiere on Gagaoolala. Part 1: EP 1-7 will air simultaneously on Oct 31st on the streaming platform. Starring Fiat Patchata, Singto Prachaya and Fluke Natouch in the lead roles, is a suspense drama that interweaves horror with romance.

Synopsis-

In 1999, Dan’s in grade eleven when he transfers to Saint Lawrence’s, an all-boys catholic school. His father is being treated at a nearby hospital for end-stage brain cancer; his mother died when he was only seven. Dan is close to Brother Anurak, the school’s dean and a psychologist. Brother Anurak tries to cure Dan of his sleep paralysis. In his dreams, Dan sees a shadow that suffocates him and it only gets worse when he transfers. Brother Anurak searches for meaning in the dreams; he believes Dan has some sort of complex pertaining to his father. Dan causes a panic on his first day when he chooses a seat at the desk of Trin, a senior who mysteriously vanished at the lake behind the school a year prior. No one dares to sit at that desk, and no one dares throw it away. He gets to know his classmate Nai and roommate George as well as Cha-em, a student from Saint Mary’s who comes to perform in the annual play. As the four of them grow closer, they begin to look into Trin’s disappearance while helping Dan evade the shadow that’s plaguing him.

Iridescent Love

On July 22nd, MOOMOOTEN98, the author of ‘Iridescent Love ความลับของตั้งโอ๋ (The Secret of Tang Oh)’, announced that her novel will be adapted into a TV series. Harikarn Solution (Chains of Heart) has now officially announced the main leads as Gun Thapanawat (Unforgotten Night) and Pleum Siwakorn. Joining the cast are Chen Kittiphong, Ufa Nattawat (Oh My Sunshine Night!) and Kritsikorn Pukanjanadet (La Pluie The Series).

Synopsis-

The story depicts the life of an ordinary office worker. He doesn’t have many friends; he isn’t flashy and he doesn’t go out much. At night however, he dresses up cutely and opens an app where the people who ‘donate’ receive his hottest photos. All is well until an encounter with the guy next door.

Y Entertainment Announces “For Him The Series” and New GL Project “About Galaxy The Series”

Y Entertainment (Unforgotten Night) has announced the premiere of their upcoming BL drama “For Him The Series”. Adapted from the novel “For Him” (ยอมเป็นของฮิม) by newaccount, the show stars Dew Nitikorn (Oh My Sunshine Night!) and Tor Atagorn. The supporting cast includes Tong Supanut, Toon Panisara Prinyarux, Ryan Panya, Peat Suchanon Chueluecha, Baitoey Punnisa, Ging Areeya, Yoon Phusanu (Unforgotten Night) and Pop Pitcherpat. The show is set to premiere on 31st November, 2023 on IQIYI (Uncut Version) and will have ten episodes.

Y Entertainment has also announced the cast for their upcoming GL series “Absolute Galaxy The Series”. Based on author Zezeho’s yuri novel of the same name ‘About Galaxy มูลค่าดาวล้านดวง’, the show will star Aoom Thaweeporn and Meena Rina in the lead roles of Phing & Preaw. The supporting cast includes Ging Areeya, Mild Anis, Yoon Phusanu, Namtan Chalita and Baitoey Punnisa.

Synopsis-

The story revolves around Hong Yok, a designer who has a big scar on her face. People around her push her down and everyone on the team agrees that she should never get on stage or be seen. But something changes in her life when she meets Note, a woman she was measuring clothes for. Unfortunately, she realizes that Note is the same person who gave her that huge scar. Despite that incident, Hong Yok can’t outright despise her, and instead feels safe. What will happen to the two women?

Love in the Big City

Nam Yoon Su (The King’s Affection and Extracurricular) will be starring as the main lead in the 8-episodes drama version of “Love In The Big City” which is adapted from Park Sang-young’s bestselling novel of the same name.

Actors Kim Go-eun and Noh Sang-hyun will be starring in the feature film adaptation. The Korean actress, Kim Go Eun, who is famous for playing lead roles in K-dramas such as ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’ and ‘The King: Eternal Monarch’ will be portraying Jae Hee. Noh Sang Hyun aka Steve Sanghyun, a Korean-American actor and model seen in ‘Dopojarak: Story of Homme the K-Wanderer’ and ‘Pachinko’ will be playing Heung Soo.

Synopsis:

Young is a cynical yet fun-loving Korean student who pinballs from home to class to the beds of recent Tinder matches. He and Jaehee, his female best friend and roommate, frequent nearby bars where they push away their anxieties about their love lives, families, and money with rounds of soju and ice-cold Marlboro Reds that they keep in their freezer. Yet over time, even Jaehee leaves Young to settle down, leaving him alone to care for his ailing mother and to find companionship in his relationships with a series of men, including one whose handsomeness is matched by his coldness, and another who might end up being the great love of his life.
