Gone are the days when Girls’ Love dramas were low on viewership and ratings. The unprecedented success of Thai GL “Gap The Series” has heralded a new era where GL content is on the verge of evolving. The main leads Freen Sarocha & Rebecca Armstrong became household names and they are still trending. “Show Me Love” starring beauty queens Engfa Waraha & Charlotte Austin was another lucid attempt to diversify the popularity of this genre. Currently on-air Thai GL’s “Love Senior” and “Lucky My Love” are fervently trying to capitalize on this notion; whether they win or lose, only time will tell. FreenBecky’s Upcoming Projects

One of the most popular couple in the Thai GL industry, Rebecca Armstrong & Freen Sarocha created history with their adaptation “Gap The Series”. Their popularity soared to great heights and they turned this barely visible genre into a marketable commodity. With success comes pitfalls and as such, Freen Sarocha was recently caught in a huge controversy where her relationship with co-star Seng Wichai (Secret Crush on You) was made public by nefarious paparazzi. Despite all that unwarranted hoopla, FreenBecky are still going strong as an onscreen couple and they have not one, but two upcoming projects in the pipeline!

Uranus 2324

A film by Velcurve Studio, “Uranus 2324” is an upcoming Thai Sci-fi GL starring FreenBecky in the lead roles, Linlada Sasinpimon & Kath. Directed by James Thanadol, the movie is set to premiere next year. The storyline follows Kath, who returns to Thailand from New York. While visiting her old home, she is forced to relive her painful memories with long lost lover, Lin. Linlada Sasinpimon was a Thai astronaut stationed at the Uratis space station who reportedly lost contact with NASA. As Kath is assaulted with their past memories, she remembers the promise that Lin made-

“No matter how far you are, I will always find you.”

The trailer has already reached the million view mark; here’s hoping that Velcurve Studio makes sure that the movie is available to international fans through viable streaming portals online!

The Loyal Pin

After playing off their perfect chemistry in an office romance and daring to star in sci-fi GL as well, FreenBecky will star in a period drama next. Adapted from the novel “Pin Phak” (ปิ่นภักดิ์) by Mon Maew (ม่อนแมว), the show stars FreenBecky in the lead roles of Lady Pin & Princess Anilaphat. The social media account has been serving looks that correspond to the republican era, with both Freen & Becky looking resplendent in gorgeous gowns and subtle attire which signify the social standing of their characters.

Synopsis-

‘The Loyal Pin’ revolves around the story of the prim and proper Lady Pin and the naughty but charmingly lovely Princess Anilaphat. The two are brought together by fate and have since grown up together. Will they grow feelings for each other, too?

GMMTV has been finishing off projects from last year’s lineup, allowing them to schedule the new shows in this year’s lineup. Latest on this agenda is GMMTV’s first ever GL production “23.5”. Milk Pansa & Love Pattranite who became hugely popular after starring in “Bad Buddy”, will be playing the main couple, Ongsa/Earth & Sun. “My School President” main leads Gemini Gemini Norawit & Fourth Nattawat were supposed to play the supporting couple in this GL, but they were recently replaced by View Benyapa (Aylin) & View Benyapa (Luna) who became popular after playing the side couple in “Dangerous Romance”. The show has wrapped up filming after months of shooting and is set to premiere in 2024.

Synopsis-

Ongsa, a loner all her life, falls in love at first sight with the more popular Sun. However, with the fear of being rejected, she decides to approach her under the pseudonym “Earth.” As Sun gets more and more curious about who Earth is and starts to fall for her, will Ongsa reveal herself to Sun?

The Secret of Us

Ch3 Thailand has officially announced their first GL project “The Secret of Us”. Adapted from the web novel, “Jai Son Rak” (ใจซ่อนรัก) by Meenam (มีนาม), the show stars Lingling Sirilak & Orm Kornnaphat in the lead roles. Further details are still under wraps, so stay tuned.

Chaser Game W: Power Harassment Joshi wa Watashi no Moto Kano

TV Tokyo has unveiled the official launch of their first lesbian romance “Chaser Game W: Power Harassment Joshi wa Watashi no Moto Kano”. Adapted from Hiroshi Matsuyama’s manga of the same name, the show stars Sugai Yuuka & Nakamura Yurika in the lead roles of Harumoto Itsuki & Hayashi Fuyu. The first live action adaptation of the manga “Chaser Game” aired in September 2022 and it received a lot of positive responses. As per sources at TV Tokyo, the settings, original storyline and characters have been completely revamped for the second live action series this time.

This work is centered on the love story between a lesbian boss at a game company and two of her subordinates; and depicts the refracted emotions that arise from the regret over their past relationship. This is a “revenge love-hate drama” that portrays the conflict between two women, and is the first TV Tokyo drama to feature a “lesbian” as the lead character. The script was written from scratch under the supervision of a lesbian. The drama will also take on new challenges while exploring social issues such as “LGBTQ”, “labor issues” and “sexual harassment” which are attracting attention these days. The show is set to premiere on January 08, 2024.

Whisper Me A Love Song

The official account for the anime adaptation of Eku Takeshima’s Whisper Me a Love Song (Sasayaku yō ni Koi wo Utau) manga has revealed the teasers and trailer foreshadowing the show’s premiere in April, 2024. The anime stars Hana Shimano and Asami Seto in the lead roles of Himari Kino and Yori Asanagi. The anime was supposed to premiere in January but suffered an inadvertent delay because of a change of directors.

Synopsis-

Yori Asanagi is a mature girl in many ways but is still pure when it comes to romance. That sentiment is proven when an underclassman, Himari Kino, suddenly confesses love to her after her band performance at the freshman opening ceremony.

Confused and surprised, Yori asks her friends for consultation, but they tease her by saying that she is experiencing love. Yori soon makes up her mind and tries to return Himari’s feelings, but in a twist of events, she realizes that what Himari loved was not her, but her music!

As Yori continues to pursue her love for Himari, she promises to make Himari fall for her. However, will this passionate love bloom or remain unrequited?
