Neo’s Lack of Professionalism During The Promotion of “23.5 The Series”

Introduction : On March 21, 2024 the actresses Milk Pansa Vosbein and Love Pattranite Limpatiyakorn did a live show to promote their series GL “23.5 The Series” on the live house of GMMTV hosted by Neo Trai Nimtawat. Unfortunately, the promotion did not go as planned due to Neo Trai Nimtawat’s lack of professionalism as well as Mark Pakin Kuna-Anuvit’s intervention which did not allow them to do everything that was planned.

☆ 23.5 first GL (Girl’s Love) of GMMTV

23.5 was released on March 8, 2024. It is the first GL produced by GMMTV. It tells the story of Ongsa (Milk) and Sun (Love). Ongsa’s high school life will never be the same when she carelessly tells her cute and cheerful classmate Sun “sweet dreams” using the Instagram name Earth. Unfortunately, the masculine name leads Sun to believe she’s talking to a guy, but Ongsa doesn’t want to lose the opportunity to talk to her. She chooses to keep it a secret and go on talking to Sun as Earth. (Source: GMMTV)

The series is available on Netflix and GMMTV’s YouTube Channel for international viewers. When it was released, “23.5” was a great success, but over time, fans began to complain about GMMTV’s lack of promotion for the series.

☆ Bad promotions

On March 21, 2024, the GMMTV Live House, hosted by Neo to promote “23.5”, was attended by the main actresses Milk and Love and the Lucky Fans who had been chosen to do an activity with the actresses. While Neo should have been prepared for this promotional event, he didn’t even know the names of the actresses in the series. He had little knowledge of the script and took the opportunity to talk about himself and his girlfriend. In addition, he made jokes that did not please the fans.

N: You guys have been waiting for that scene since Ep.3?

M: Actually, we’ve been waiting since the trailer was out. It’s worth watching you should watch it later.

N: Alright, i’ll waste my time from meditation each day for watching the series.

Finally, Mark appeared towards the end of the LIVE, which wasted time. Therefore, the planned activity with The lucky fans was cancelled.

☆ Apologies

The day after the Live event, on March 22, 2024, Neo apologized on the X app to the actresses and fans of the series. In fact, fans complained to GMMTV and demanded that Neo should no longer promote GLs from now on, and that he apologize to the actresses who had lost one of the few promotions they’d been able to get.

“I would like to apologize for the way I made everyone feel bad at today’s live house. I admit that I didn’t do a good job as a host and I feel that I spoke carelessly about many things. And it caused you to lose some of the program time. I have already personally apologized to P’Milk and P’Love. I had no intention of being disrespectful toward brothers and sisters who were today’s guests. As for the phrase I said: ‘Waste of time meditating’. I admit that I spoke without thinking. But I did not think it. That was really unintentional. It was an improvised speech that made many people unhappy. I sincerely apologize. This was all my mistake. After this, I will accept all my mistakes and improve in the future. For today’s event, I have to present my apologies. Sorry, P’ Milk and P’ Love.”

Love responded under this post on X to accept his apology publicly and expressed her desire to work with him in the future.

  1. There is absolutely no excuse for Neo’s behavior. Also I have to ask, why didn’t his manager prepare him to host this event? Still, lack of preparation is no excuse for rudeness. A more empathetic host would have gotten the girls to discuss their series without demeaning them even if the host hadn’t been briefed in advance. This entire episode is not a good look for GMMTV and this particular actor. The company has been in the news more than a few times in 2024 for all the wrong reasons. This is one more black mark against them.
