Last week was rather slow, with few announcements. We don’t know if the momentum will pick up this week, but we are bringing you the scarce amount of updates that graced the social network in the last few days.

The Summer Hikaru Died

The horror mystery manga by Mokumokuren, “The Summer Hikaru Died” will be getting an anime adaptation. The author drew the below illustration to celebrate the announcement. Additional details are still under wraps. “The Summer Hikaru Died” manga has been serialized on Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace Up web imprint since August 2021 and currently spans four collected volumes, with the fifth due out on June 4. The series topped Kono Manga ga Sugoi!’s list for male readers in 2023, and has also been ranked/nominated for the Manga Taisho award, the Tsutaya Comic Awards, an Eisner Award and the Next Manga Award.

Synopsis-

Two boys lived in a village: Yoshiki and Hikaru. The two did everything together…until the day Hikaru was encompassed by a mysterious light. That was when everything changed—Hikaru most of all. Yoshiki still wishes from the bottom of his heart to always stay by his side, but is there even a Hikaru left to be with.

Love Bully

Possibly the most anticipated release in the coming months, the official trailer was released for CHANGE 2561’s “Club Friday The Series” anthology ” LoveBully”. Starring Engfa Waraha & Charlotte Austin in the lead roles, the show is directed by Golf Tanwarin (Eclipse The Series, Wandee Goodday). Premieres on 7th June via Viu Thailand, with 4 episodes.

BTS released for the pilot trailer of the upcoming adaptation “Let Me Into Your Heart”. Adapted from the novel “Kho Pen Phra-ek Nai Huajai…Phra-ek?” (ขอเป็นพระเอกในหัวใจ…พระเอก?) by P.ICHA, the show stars Intouch Kooramasuwan & Leng Teerachot in the lead roles.

Synopsis-

Two likay heroes from different groups have to come together to promote a big show. On the outside, everying appears to flow seamlessly, but behind the scenes, the two are clashing like mad.

Youku’s youth webdrama “Gui Zhao”, starring Ma Boquan, Zhang Kangle, releases new stills as it wraps filming.

High School Return of a Gangster

A censored adaptation of the BL web novel “I, a Gangster, Became a High Schooler” by Ho Rol (호롤), the eight-episode drama “High School Return of a Gangster”will premiere in select regions on VIU starting May 29. The show stars Yoon Chang Young and Bong Jae Hyun and Lee Seo Jin in lead roles.

Synopsis-

Kim Deuk Pal is a 47-year-old gangster who is the #2 guy in his gang. He doesn’t have an educational background due to his poor parents, but he dreams of attending a university. Deuk Pal has been studying to achieve his dream, but it’s not easy. One day, he sees a young man, Song Yi Heon, about to kill himself. At that time, Deuk Pal’s spirit possesses the body of the suicidal 19-year-old high school student. Deuk Pal soon learns that Yi Heon is a victim of bullying, which has caused him to want to take his own life. Now, in Yi Heon’s body, Deuk Pal takes on the bullies to punish them and becomes friends with classmate Choi Se Kyung. Filming has begun for the upcoming #ThaiBL “Flavor Of Us”. Starring PeiPei Krit, Rang Jirakith in lead roles alongside Benjamin Brasier, Jirakith Hongthong, Dome Woranart, and Marwin Akkaradanai.

I Hear the Sunspot

TV Tokyo in collaboration with Drama Next is adapting popular manga “I Hear the Sunspot”. Based on Fumino Yuki’s original work, ‘Hidamari Ga Kikoeru’ (I Hear the Sunspot), and its sequel, “I Hear the Sunspot: Theory of Happiness”, the show is set to premiere on July 3rd. The original story was serialized by Canna (Printemps Publishing), and was made into a live-action film in 2017. Nakazawa Motoki and Kobayashi Toranosuke will be starring in the lead roles of Sugihara Kohei and Sagawa Taiich. The author also shared an illustration celebrating the news.

Synopsis-

Kohei Sugihara, college student with hearing loss, and Taichi Sagawa, his ever-optimistic former classmate, met in a chance encounter that ignited an undeniable spark that would eventually blossom into love. Caged Again The Series

A collaboration between BrandThink Cinema and WeTV Thailand, “Caged Again The Series” stars Jai Sorathon and Benjamin Greenwell in lead roles.

Synopsis-

To escape a cage, a young penguin transforms into a human. But he ends up trapped again in another place, where he encounters a black panther who also becomes human and asks him for help to escape the place. However, will the panther’s predatory instinct and hunger give way when its heart starts beating as it approaches the penguin?
