2 Moons 2: The Story of The Six Moons & Their Journey So Far

“2 Moons 2”, contrary to what we might think, is not the sequel to “2 Moons”. Indeed, this series is a remake of the first adaptation that was released 2 years earlier, on May 7, 2017. Even before its release, the series sparked controversy because the entire original cast had been replaced, and many fans decided not to watch this new version in support of the old main cast. However, the series was another success for Motive Village. Nevertheless, the success was short-lived as other scandals quickly surfaced between the new main cast composed of Earth Teerapat Ruangritkul, Ben Benjamin Brasier, Joong Archen Aydin, Nine Kornchid Boonsathitpakdee, Pavel Naret Promphaopun, and Dome Woranart Ratthanaphast and their former agency Motive village.

What Makes “Boys Like Boys” a Global Success- A Tell-All with Director Huang Ting Chun

Committing to a dream isn’t an easy task; especially when you are a filmmaker. It means copious amounts of planning, understanding the script better than anyone else and prudently working with the actors to recognize their own vision. A “Make or Break” scenario that tests the director’s caliber; more so when you are working on reality television that is devoid of a readable script. Focusing your energy on different contestants to draw the best out of them requires certain amount of detailing which Director Huang Ting Chun excels at. We had a thoughtful reminiscence about his varied works and it was compelling!

“Dead Boy Detectives” Series Review (Ep.1 to 8)

“Dead Boy Detectives” is a fun show that doesn’t take itself too seriously, while also providing the audience with a wide range of themes from existential life and death lessons about growing (and dying) pains, to mystery, drama, friendship and romance. The series keeps you engaged from the beginning to the end, and while Netflix does a horrible job at marketing such stories, it is worth the watch, and I hope they have the good sense to keep making these CW-esque shows as they do grow a cult-following, especially with the more episodes made and the rewatch value of these shows are exceptionally strong.

“Khar Taw Mi” Movie Review

I have a confession to make here. I had to watch this series twice to fully appreciate it. I dislike obfuscation and initially felt that is what was going on in this short film. Perhaps because I am from the United States, I like things to be made crystal clear and upfront. Which, of course, this short film does not. Being also inquisitive, I read a variety of comments about this short film which certainly educated me. I realized how myopic and clouded my thinking was. Therefore, I watched it again in light of my newfound appreciation of traditional Burmese culture and Myanmar’s current political climate.

“Strange Way of Life” Movie Review

The highly anticipated “Strange Way of Life” a short film that ran festival circuits and had a limited release in major theaters is now available on streaming platforms and video on demand. The film directed and written by Pedro Almodovar stars Ethan Hawke as Sheriff Jake and Pedro Pascal as Silva. The story is comparable to Ang Lee’s “Brokeback Mountain” due to the “Love that can’t be talked about” situation between Jake and Silva. Something that started 25 years ago and hasn’t been forgotten by neither men despite the distance between them; only to be reignited when Silva appears at Jake’s door. But are his intentions purely for Jake or is there more to it?
