BL Mini-Bytes

We got some piping hot news pouring from close quarters, unexpected ouster of a renowned adaptation that is set to premiere soon. While the queer community is eagerly awaiting the show’s release, it was stuck by traditional conservatives. Apart from that, we also have updates about some of the most anticipated dramas in 2024!

Love In The Big City

Yes, you got it right. Just days after the official trailer was released for the drama version of “Love In The Big City”, active protests from conservatives led TVING to delete the official posters and trailers related to this project. Adapted from the novel by Park Sang Young, the show stars Nam Yoon Su and Lee Soo Kyung in lead roles. While fans were celebrating the news that all 8 episodes will be released simultaneously on Viki, on 21st October; the widespread controversy has offended the queer community who have been awaiting the release of this show.

In a long-winded post on his official X account, novelist Park Sang Young expressed his displeasure and disappointment over the rally against the adaptation.

“Thanks to a certain group targeting the drama “Love In The Big City” and the flood of complaints to the relevant department, all the official trailers have been taken down. It’s been 9 days until the drama opens, and I’m furious about the ridiculous situation where we can’t do any promotion. I couldn’t sleep a wink all night. I thought I had gotten used to this kind of thing after eight years of being a writer.

The true face of hatred is something I can’t get used to no matter how many times I experience it. I’m looking for a way to resume the promotions. No matter what happens, we will definitely open on October 21st. Everyone, have a great time! In the end, we will win!

How well do you think this is going to turn out?”
