Warm, Beautiful, and Full of Love
Summary: Ai-oon is the disappointing twin of the successful and beloved Ob-oom. They aren’t close. On Ob-oom’s wedding night, she takes Ai-oon aside and requests her. Ob-oon and her husband Paul will be going away for their honeymoon and she’ll be leaving something important behind: a lover, May, she hasn’t broken up with—and she wants Ai-oon to do it for her. In the early morning following the wedding, Ai-oon learns that the newlyweds got into an accident. Paul has passed away and Ob-oom is in a coma. When Ai-oon decides to fulfill her sister’s request, she’s shocked to learn that May is both blind and a woman. She finds herself unprepared to complete the task.
“Pluto” is a Thai GL series based on the name of the same novel, where two women find love, and companionship in this warm and cozy love story. Ob-oom and Ai-oon (Namtan Tipnaree) are two twin sisters but while Ob-oom is successful and perfect, Ai-oon considers herself to be the black sheep of the family. When Ob-oom gets married, she confides in Ai-oon that she has a lover with whom she hasn’t cleared things up and asks her to do it in her place. Ai-oon finds out later that the said ex-lover is surprisingly a woman and on the top of that, she is blind. To fulfill her sister’s wish, she gets involved with May (Film Rachanun).

What is most beautiful about this series is the contrast between the occurrence of incidents in the episode to the shocking throw out in the last episode. It’s connected beautifully and consistently throughout the whole series; with the show having some amazing and endearing moments.
The chemistry between Ai-oon and May is exceptionally alluring, emotional and effortlessly charismatic. Namtan as Ai-oon is phenomenal and acts quite distinctively while playing twin characters, which are different from one another. They captivated the audiences so much that it becomes hard to differentiate, at some point you may feel “Oh! They are played by the same actor.” Film as May was perfect, she plays a really vulnerable character and to play such a character on screen and bring justice to it is admirable. But both actresses individually and together spin such a beautifully magic romance together, that in my opinion it makes “Pluto”, one of the most emotionally binding show ever produced by GMMTV. Before watching the series, I was a little skeptical about the name of the series and was confused as to why it’s named Pluto but I understood the significance when I completed the series (not going to spoil but at last, she met her Pluto, as to know who is she is, watch the series).

All the characters are relatable and realistic, where disability is seen as a weakness, Mental health is not talked about enough, loneliness affects people and the love of a companion and family is dismissed, this series contains a balanced dose of all these topics together. Ciize Rutricha as Pang, Kapook Ploynira as Phim, and Earn Preeyaphat as Jan did a good job ; I am a little confused about their love story and hope they either get their little spin-off so that the audience can dive into their story better as it was rushed and explored only on the surface. Overall with an amazing direction and casting, this is a perfectly crafted series.
