“Beside the Sky” is a gentle, emotionally driven romance that succeeds not through dramatic plot twists but the quiet and subtle feel of relationship. As a story about reconnecting with someone from the past, the series explores themes of memory, longing, and emotional healing with a sincerity, that though an overused genre, still feels refreshing.
The heart of the drama lies in the relationship between Tonfah (Bever Patsapon) and Typhoon (Tonliew Methaphat). Rather than directly rushing into romance, I like how the series allows their connection to develop slowly again, building tension through those glances, unresolved feelings. It’s sweet and beautiful to decipher. I really loved watching this simple story turning into a deeply meaningful story that was without any effort adorable and intense, which is a weird choice of word to describe a series, but that’s what I felt while watching it.

One of the greatest strengths of this show is its pacing. The way this story flows from childhood to the current timeline and the way it explores second-chance romance is intriguing. The performances by our lead actors Bever and Tonliew are nice and not very overwhelming or underwhelming. Both leads bring a beautiful vulnerability to their roles, making it easy to understand the emotional baggage their characters carry. Their chemistry feels natural, and simple.
What I didn’t like about the series is, the pacing occasionally slows to the point where certain episodes feel repetitive, and some supporting characters are underdeveloped. It feels like this series would have been the same without them.

“Beside the Sky” is a beautifully acted slow-burn, second chance romance that depicts the simplicity of this genre!!
