Gawin Caskey is one of those phenomenal actors who can breeze through any kind of performance. Angsty, emotional distress or unhinged romance, you name it, and he has done it. Apart from this, Gawin has an exemplary ability to form formidable bonds with each of his co-stars. His chemistry with his onscreen partners is always a subject of awe and has inspired debates across global platforms. Today, we will surmise this debate while discussing the dynamics with his different co-stars.
Pod Suphakorn (Dark Blue Kiss)
While “Dark Blue Kiss” majorly revolves around Pete (Tay Tawan) & Kao’s (New Thitipoom) romance, the second major highlight of this show was the budding love story between Sun (Pod Suphakorn) and Mork (Gawin Caskey). The sequel follows “Kiss Me Again” where Sun develops unrequited feelings for Kao. “Dark Blue Kiss” follows his journey as he tries to distance himself from his one sided love for Kao. Enter Mork, whose uncontrollable behavior draws him in. Mork is free and unrestrained, which makes Sun curious about him. As they draw closer, Sun’s serious nature settles Mork down. Despite their constant bickering, the two start to care for each other. Gawin first became popular because of his somber chemistry with Pod, it was memorable & an instant hit!
First Kanaphan (Not Me)
While “Not Me” remains a celebrated classic because of the unwavering chemistry between Off Jumpol & Gun Atthaphan, the other couple who caught everyone’s attention were First Kanaphan (Yok) and Gawin Caskey (Dan). Starring as strict police officer, Gawin has a diffident caricature, this role was unlike any he had performed before. While Dan hides his alter ego Unar under the guise of his police uniform while seeking reforms, Yok is a diehard rebel. Their interactions often ended in inevitable clashes until Yok unravels Dan’s other identity. Gawin was applauded for the way he portrayed Dan’s emotional struggles. Add to that, his chemistry with First was off-the-charts and history was created!
Krist Perawat (Be My Favorite)
Starring opposite one of the veteran actors in GMMTV who was a part of a super popular established ship is a big deal. It was like rewriting history. That requires guts because SingtoKrist still remain one of the most famous couples in Thai BL industry. To override their popularity, Gawin had to touch base with Kristo. Krista stars as Botkawi has forever been in love with Praemai. The time travel romance takes Botkawi back to the era when he was eighteen. Unexpectedly, instead of pursuing Praemai, he ends up falling for his arch enemy, Piseang (Gawin). The cat & mouse that ensues was hilarious and their chemistry was beautiful. I didn’t expect their romance to be on par with the “SingtoKrist” dynamics. But Gawin left his mark on the audiences with his daring performance and avid BL fans celebrated the birth of this new ship!
Joss Way-ar (My Golden Blood)
The current heartthrob, Joss & Gawin are making waves and winning hearts across the globe. Who could have thought that a vampire romance would become a global sensation? Gawin is more prone to doing serious, emotional roles, so watching him play a naive character was something unique and different. His pairing with Joss instantly draws your attention because of their mesmerizing chemistry. This is Joss’ first major BL role, and he plays into his strengths. Both have a comfortable camaraderie which translates into great chemistry on-screen. Their offscreen interactions are even more adorable and fans are thriving on this unbelievable romance. This pairing was unimaginable, no one could have thought that they wpuld have such a huge impact on the BL diaspora!
We are ending this article with the hope that Gawin won’t be walking through revolving doors anymore and have a “Happily Ever After” with Joss Wayar (who won the utmost votes in the online poll on our website). Kudos to our favorite pairing ever!
I liked Gawin with Krist, and with First, but I hate to admit he was the one thing I did not like in My Golden Blood. His acting is fine, we all know he’s a great musician, but for me, when I saw him and Joss together I didn’t feel the chemistry but felt I was watching actors doing a scene; nothing made me believe in their relationship. I’m in the most miniscule percent of BL watchers as I’ve seen the internet go crazy for them. I like Joss too – I was surprised he hadn’t done BL earlier after watching 3 Will Be Free. Both actors are skilled, I just didn’t feel the fire.
