“Heart Code” Series Review (Ep.3 to 7)

Monomax steals the thunder with their first GL project, which has a perfect balance of action & thrill!!

Helming a crime thriller requires minute detailing and flawless execution. “Heart Code”. This is one of those well-written shows that has phenomenal storytelling enabled by an excellent casting. Starring Tungpang Pattarawadee & Jessie Natsiya in lead roles, the show is unhinged & unrestrained. The narrative doesn’t shy away from including shocking elements or action sequences. The fact that the lead actress renders those action scenes as flawlessly as the romantic ones is an added advantage. The production quality is exquisite & the cinematography is impressive. “Heart Code” has set the standards high for any future GL projects produced by Monomax!!

The Storyline & Chemistry-

Vicky (Jessie Natsiya) is the daughter of a powerful police officer, Phakphum. When she is targeted by the vicious Minister Burin with whom Phakphum had shady dealings in the past, Vicky is forced to attend a training camp. Coincidentally, she meets Captain Thara (Tungpang Pattarawadee) at the camp, and they get closer. Thara is investigating the death of her father, who was possibly murdered while she was young. Thara firmly believes that Phakphum might have been involved in her father’s death. Initially, she doesn’t know that Vicky is Phakphum’s daughter and gets romantically involved with her. On learning the shocking truth, Thara continues pursuing Vicky, so she can enter Phakphum’s house and investigate his secret dealings. Tungpang & Jessie have a mesmerizing chemistry. Their NC scenes are tastefully done and quite sensual!!

Final Impressions

A GL-themed action thriller is quite difficult to execute, but director Nui Suttasit manages to achieve the impossible!!

The storyline is slightly predictable when it comes to establishing the antagonists and their motives. But the build up takes time and the pacing is even. Apart from the main leads, the supporting characters have strong portrayals, and they add an extra edge to the drama. The romance encompasses a major portion of the storyline, but it doesn’t overshadow the mystique.
