How GeminiFourth Have Evolved Over the Years

The latest episode of “Ticket to Heaven” premiered to the highest ratings possible. The reason was plain & simple- GeminiFourth’s improved chemistry. Portraying the main protagonists in a religious candor which questions faith and belief, our young onscreen couple have grown by leaps and bounds. So, it is only right that we retrace their steps from 2022, when they first started their journey!!

My School President

GeminiFourth made their debut as an official couple in the 2022 sleeper hit “My School President.” Student body president Tinn (Gemini Norawit) has a secret crush on Gun (Fourth Nattawat), the head of the music club and lead singer of the middling band Chinzhilla. It is a simple “Enemies to Lover’s” romance. Tinn is the son of the school Principal and also the “Student Body President” who has been tasked with axing any clubs that don’t boost their school’s reputation. The music club tops that list and, as such, Gun strongly believes that Tinn is his enemy. Desperate to save his club, Gun will do anything, even pledge servitude to Tinn. However, Tinn has other plans. When he learns Chinzhilla has a rule that band members aren’t permitted to date until they win the Hot Wave Music Contest, he vows to do whatever it takes to help them do just that. Tinn & Gun start off as adversaries and slowly progress towards becoming a couple. It was their first shot at success and GeminiFourth debuted with a bang!!

Moonlight Chicken

GeminiFourth’s second project involved an ensemble casting alongside established couples like EarthMix & FirstKhao. And yet, GeminiFourth managed to leave a deep impression. Fourth stars as Li Ming, main lead, Jim’s (Earth Pirapat) nephew. Raised by his uncle, Li Ming is a senior in high school, quite frustrated with life while trying to figure out his own goals. Jim’s overbearing nature suffocates him, and he feels isolated until he meets Heart (Gemini), a deaf young man his own age. They are both lonely, their budding friendship slowly morphs into romance. Because of his disability, Heart has always led a sheltered life, unable to express himself freely. As they get closer, Heart finds someone who understands his loneliness while Li Ming meets someone who accepts him wholeheartedly. The romance was solemn, quiet and thoughtful.

My Love Mix-Up!

Starring in a remake is always a challenging task. The original work always sets a benchmark that is incomparable and difficult to emulate. Timid and clumsy Atom (Fourth Nattawat) has a crush on Matmi, the girl who sits next to him in class. He feels anxious when he borrows her eraser and sees she’s written the name of another boy—Kongthap (Gemini Norawit)—on it. Things spiral out of control when Kongthap sees his name on the eraser that Atom drops and thinks Atom has a crush on him. Atom can’t reveal that the eraser belongs to Matmi and is forced to continue with the farce. Comical situations ensue as Kongthap tries to get closer to Atom, believing he has feelings for him. Initially hesitant, Atom is moved by Kongthap’s persistence and sincere actions. GeminiFourth managed to establish their fanbase with this project, which further cemented their chemistry!!

Ticket to Heaven

This scene is the reason that I’m writing this article. “Ticket to Heaven” features a dark vulnerability about two teenage boys who are caught in a web of religious constraint, faith & belief. When you have been raised with a certain doctrine, you follow through it without much thought. But what happens when someone suddenly shatters the said belief that was the foundation of your very existence? You are left hurt, confused and vulnerable. Tanrak (Fourth) would understand this sentiment as he struggles with resisting the temptation that is Barth (Gemini). This show is kind of a role reversal for our young couple. Gemini sheds his highly reserved caricatures that he has rendered before, to don a flirtatious avatar; Barth could literally seduce the devil. As against the bright characters that he is used to playing, Fourth embarks on a new journey where he plays a serious character who thinks before he speaks. Orphaned at a young age, he grew up at his missionary school and is supposedly intending on following a spiritual path. For such a person, having impure thoughts about someone of the same sex is sinful. Tanrak feels anxious as Barth tears apart the high walls built around his heart. It isn’t easy for him to accept his feelings and yet, love is not an emotion that can be controlled.

Over the years, I have watched GeminiFourth portray playful teenagers. Obviously, their characters have their individual struggles, but the subject matter isn’t as gritty as “Ticket to Heaven.” This show challenges their acting talents at another level. Their chemistry feels familiar, the tension ricocheting in their NC scene feels strongly enhanced.

Truly, they have grown in their individual abilities as actors and also an onscreen couple!!
