Adapted from the web novel The Prosecutor’s Office’s Proposal by He Bok, the Korean BL stars Park Si Woo as prosecutor Lee Chae Ha and Kim Yoon Sik as investigator Ju Tae Seon. Fifteen years after the murder of a powerful casino owner tears both of their lives apart, fate reunites them on the same side of an investigation. One grew up as the victim’s son, the other as the son of the accused killer. As they uncover corruption reaching far beyond a single murder, the truth forces them to confront the past they never truly escaped and the unexpected bond growing between them.

There’s a lot to be said for The Prosecutor’s Proposal. It has everything I love, from the intrigue of a murder mystery to the compelling romance between two men whose lives were forever shaped by the same tragedy. It’s all wrapped up in insanely good chemistry and topped off with one hell of an opening sequence and theme song.

I don’t often go into a review hesitant to say too much, but this is one of those series I genuinely hate to spoil. Park Si Woo and Kim Yoon Sik do a fantastic job bringing Lee Chae Ha and Ju Tae Seon to life, and the ensemble cast deserves just as much credit. Every character has a role to play in the mystery, and each one adds another layer to the tension, the intrigue, and the romance unfolding on screen.

What I found most compelling was seeing how one tragedy shaped the lives of two young men in completely different ways. The pain they carried became the very thing that connected them, and by telling the story through both of their perspectives, the series allows us to understand not only what they lost but also how those experiences shaped the men they became. That emotional foundation makes their relationship feel just as important as the search for the truth.

I was enthralled every time Lee Chae Ha and Ju Tae Seon shared the screen, drawn in as much by the tension between them as I was by the investigation itself. Their chemistry never wavers, making every interaction feel meaningful, whether they were challenging one another or slowly learning to trust.

The Prosecutor’s Proposal is a quick watch that’s worth every moment. My only complaint is that I wish it had been longer.
