Committing to a dream isn’t an easy task; especially when you are a filmmaker. It means copious amounts of planning, understanding the script better than anyone else and prudently working with the actors to recognize their own vision. A “Make or Break” scenario that tests the director’s caliber; more so when you are working on reality television that is devoid of a readable script. As such, famous GL novels are being adapted as original sources and are in demand. Recently, popular Thai GL author Salmon Writing announced adaptation of her novels, “Built in Love” and “Queendom”. One of the forerunners in an industry that is still trying to catch up with its male counterpart (Boys’ Love), Salmon Writing has penned a dozen of love stories spanning from fantasy, action thrillers to historicals. We sat down for a brief conversation with the mindful author to gather her thoughts about the said genre and her books!

This question consistently reverberates throughout the journey that the “Boys Like Boys” contestants undertake to find their better halves. The first non-scripted LGBTQ+ and BL dating reality show from Taiwan saw contestants from different walks of life. Whilst his shy demeanor seemed like a deterrent to this very purpose, Bobo managed to defy logic to become one of the most popular contestants on the show.
