I'm a Researcher by profession, prone to questioning everything. Living in Mumbai, I grew up on a stable diet of monotonous Indian dramas which stretch for a decade or so and I sincerely wanted to elude the boredom. So I escaped into the unknown, which is the world of BL dramas. I love sharing my thoughts about the storyline, characters and analyzing the smallest details possible. When something touches my heart, I want to know what others feel about the subject matter as well. That’s why, I’m here at BL Xpress. Being a writer gives me an outlet to explore my inner emotions and turmoil

Outspoken and Frank: “Stay Still” Stars Chun Hin TO & Bosco TSE

Producing a BL show with a decent storyline isn’t an easy job; it is even more difficult when you are based in a conservative society like Hong Kong. From procuring funds to the running the show, Actor/Producer Bosco TSE’s stuck gold after almost three years of hardship. We are talking about the recently on-air miniseries “Stay Still”. The dulcet usage of low lights coupled with humble settings compliments the overall storytelling and it’s a great way to deliver a sombre romance. Joining him on this arduous yet fulfilling journey is co-star Chun Hin TO. We sat down for a casual conversation with this handsome couple about this ambitious project and future endeavors.

“Stay Still” Jeremy Ho & Louis LAM: Scripting New Success in the Hong Kong BL Scenery

Since mainstream Hong Kong cinema is still quite conservative, there are very few films depicting issues relevant to the LGBTQ+ community. At its heart, although there are productions like Happy Together, Twilight’s Kiss/Suk Suk, A Woman is a Woman, Butterfly and the most recent BL adaptation “Ossan’s Love”, queer storylines are still begging for attention and a proactive audience. In the midst of these struggles, we have a small, lesser known production from Hong Kong who is trying to bridge the distance between dreams and reality. And joining them on this crusade are a talented crew of actors who are delivering their daring acts with conviction. Join us as we talk to actors Jeremy HO and Louis LAM from “Stay Still” about the change they want to project with their on-air romance!

“Red, White & Royal Blue” Movie Review

While adaptations are few and far between to come by, a classic retelling is always difficult to recreate. Matthew López’s “Red, White & Royal Blue” quickly dispels this notion in the first few minutes itself. Adapted from Casey Mcquiston’s book of the same name, the film revolves around the whirlwind romance between Alex Claremont-Diaz (Taylor Zakhar Perez), the First Son of the United States, and Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine), the spare to the British Crown. The novel became hugely popular because of the flirty banter between these two obnoxious characters who are uniquely divergent, yet loveable and vulnerable in their own ways. If you have read the original content, you will appreciate the slow burn romance between Alex and Henry, which briskly touches on the most important questions faced by the queer community. The movie takes these points into consideration while developing a love story that essentially celebrates Alex and Henry’s relationship. As such, let’s sit down and list our favorite moments as we reminisce about this beautiful movie; truly a film for one & all!

“Heartstopper Season Two” Series Review (Ep.1 to 8)

There is something to be said when a teenage romance becomes a heartwarming experience that feeds your souls and alleviates your worries. Adapted by Alice Oseman from her own graphic novels, Heartstopper Season Two is a four hours long marathon that quickly immerses you into a mature romance that is equal parts endearing and angsty. Remaining true to its name, the sequel takes you on a fun filled journey while dealing with hefty topics like biphobia, eating disorders and asexuality. Ms.Oseman creates a world that is fraught with real problems; issues that teenagers face when they are coming to terms with their sexuality. Peculiarly though, the sequel does pan its lens on the older generation as well, as they rediscover themselves and try to commune with their inner desires. In short, the second season is more gritty; it draws important questions, deliberately pinpointing subjects that we choose to ignore or sideline. In short, Heartstopper S2 is joyous, wholesome and realistic!
