“Fudanshi Bartender no Tashinami” Series Review (Ep.1 & 2)

I really do not know how to describe Fudanshi Bartender no Tashinami, because the way I spent the last hour howling on my couch would describe it as funny, but it does not seem to cover the entirety of what it was. The show is eye-wateringly-hilarious. Especially for the fudanshis and fujoshis out there. There wasn’t even one situation where I could not relate to the guy. I was fangirling, just like him, the entire time.

My TOP 5 Korean BL series

South Korea is relatively new to the BL scene compared to others. While Japan remains number one in manga/anime production, others have started to catch up. South Korea has released so many manhwas – the Korean term for graphic novels – over the past couple of years that even I am having trouble following them all, and I’m a massive consumer of yaoi. Yet, even with such a large production of yaoi manhwa and novels, I confess I did not expect South Korea to join the BL series bandwagon so soon. After all, South Korea is still very conservative. Then again, society in general is still quite conservative, isn’t it?

Disappointment can’t be projected, unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case when it comes to veritable BL content. Though it is impossible to tag each drama/movie, with the amount of shows premiering each quarter, we have tried our level best to square off the choices that left us shaking our heads in regret. From the moment the first episode of the Thai BL Love in the Air opened, the lyrics from the 1983 song “It’s Raining Men” by The Weather Girls started playing in my head. Mainly because of the characters’ names and the fateful connection they seem to have with rain.
